Chapter 5 Audacious

Gina's pov

At that moment I didn't know what to do. What if she arrests me and its destroys my chances of resuming this semester. Students on scholarship are expected to have good records. Any flaw will cost the person his or her scholarship and I don't want to be unlucky.

I remained calm and stylishly put the money back in. Fortunately, she didn't catch me

Honestly I wasn't expecting her to be cool about what I did but then again I know this girl so much, she's been holding grudge against me all these years and what I just did added to the long list why she would continue to taunt me.

Selena is not nice and she won't forgive me, I just have to wait for the day, I receive my punishment. Remembering that she didn't see what I did, I breathed in and out, collapsing on her couch. My scholarship is safe, pheww.

Not wanting to leave the money, I took it. It's not like she needs it or would even notice her money is missing.

All these years she's been accusing me of stealing, so maybe I should just take something besides I need the money urgently.

I quickly finished the cleaning and ran downstairs to my room, so keep the money.

Mind you, it's not stealing, let's just say that's my salary.

It's been a week since that incident and everything is kind of normal, I mean Xander and I are now on talking terms, though I still give him cold shoulders sometimes it's not as bad as before.

I don't know why I am having gut feelings for some days now; I'm not trying to sound negative or extend bad energy. Something big is about to go down, I don't know if it has anything to do with me.

The principal witches that I live with, funnily enough hasn't taunted me in the past week, it's almost as if they do not see me like I've suddenly become invisible. I should be happy about it, but it just doesn't feel right probably because I'm used to the ill treatment now, I feel its normal or should I rather say, my body feels accustomed to it.

Its' been days now without any form of torture to be honest it feels so good. If anything, I know my body is getting used to this freedom.

Selena now seems like a normal person without all that barking and violence. Wait! Why didn't I think of this since? What if both mother and daughter are on drugs? I mean medications. All that barking and violence makes them more of dogs.

I am sure they treat people who are below their league poorly. They wouldn't want their rich friends and acquaintances to see them as people with personality disorder or think they are bipolar.

If you think I'm the only person they treat badly, you are wrong, it's just that mine is worse probably because they have a grudge against me.

Selena is currently at the swimming area with her friends, June, and Zoe. Yeah, I know what you are thinking, her friends are just like her. I'm not sure about Zoe because she doesn't attack me directly but June is definitely a bad egg too. Their parents are wealthy too but who cares, certainly not me.

I was ordered to make them some snacks which I just finished making now and I decided to plate them. I made some financier, yule log and mousse, for the drinks, besides Selena who is very much addicted to alcohol, her friends requested for soft drinks.

I walked out of the kitchen headed for the swimming area, I entered and all they were doing was basically chuckling. What's so funny? Its wasn't any of my business though it's just that their voices are annoying.

Bending down to drop the tray on the side table I heard the worst news of my life and I unconsciously dropped the tray and the contents fell off, the plates and glasses shattering and the snacks and liquids laying carelessly on the floor.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Have you gone mad young lady?"

"My skin?" They all yelled in anger.

I wasn't paying any attention to them because my brain is still trying to process the shitty piece of information I just heard.

Soon a resounding slap landed on my cheek and for the first time in my life I was thankful that Selena hit me because I already zoned out completely. The slap didn't hurt as much as the other slaps.

Do you mind repeating what you said? I boldly asked Selena and they all stared at me like I've grown ten heads.

"What? How dare you lowly slave tell me what to do?" Selena at this point was red with anger but I honestly do not care right now, I just want her to repeat what she said.

"Will you just shut the hell up and tell me what you told these bitches" I screamed out of anger and frustration.

I think I let my emotions get the best part of me because few minutes after I lashed out, they all attacked me. They beat me to a pulp and all I could think about was the pain in my heart. Physical pain means nothing to me but this ache in my heart hits different. It's not the regular type of heart ache, this one I'm feeling now is extraordinary, it's out of the normal.

I am not trying to exaggerate but I think their aim was to kill me especially Selena because I embarrassed her and that's something she hates the most. She takes pleasure in making fun of people, in mocking people. Give her a taste of her own medicine, she would want to die.

You might be wondering how I embarrassed her. First, I was being clumsy, secondly, I questioned her and the last one and the worst of all is that I told her to shut her mouth and shouted at her in front of others.

They left me on the floor and walked out, my old wounds reopened, and I was bleeding profusely and unlike before I wished to die but not now I guess. I still want to confirm if what I heard was true.

I tried standing up, but my legs were wobbly, my head felt dizzy. All I knew was that I fell to the ground, and I felt life slowly leaving me. Maybe this is for the best I guess, after all what is life without joy? what is life without peace of mind? what is life without freedom? and what is life without love?

Slowly darkness engulfed me, yeah that is it, let it all end and let me rest, I need a break!

Selena was so pissed that she wanted to go back in there and slit Gina's throat with a knife or kill her in another gruesome way. She couldn't believe that trash embarrassed her.

"Calm down Sel, you don't want that idiot to ruin your mood at least we've dealt with her she's out of your hair" June hissed.

Selena deeply inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm herself down. She still couldn't understand where Gina got the nerves to speak to her like that.

I just hope she never wakes up again because I still have evil plans for her. Plans that will ruin her forever and drive her to eternal doom.

"Zoe are you okay? You've been quiet since we got back from the pool area" June frowned

"Yeah, I'm fine, I just think that Selena has tolerated Gina for so long that is why she's spoke to her in that manner" she said.

"I agree with Zoe you know I guess you've been too lenient with her Selena" June said.

"Honestly, I haven't, in fact I've made her life hell since she stepped her foot into this house" Selena defended.

"I know you've been mean to her I'm just saying maybe it's not enough, if you want to tame a wild animal, you must get rid of its strength. You've been using her weaknesses against her all these years but have you stopped to ask yourself what keeps her strong and going?" June queried

"No, I haven't" Selena argued

"You see that's where you've been getting it wrong sweetie. Have you ever entered her room?"

Hell no, there's no way I'm entering that pigsty!"

Selena after some conviction took her friends to where Gina room, after turning the room upside down, Selena discovered something unbelievable.
