Chapter 7 Lust

Ashton opened his eyes and gazed at the ceiling. The morning sun washed into his room through the window on his left and it flooded his bed too. Ashton could feel his head spin slightly. For a moment, he forgot everything that had happened the previous. This was beginning to be a normality for him, and he detested that. He moved on the bed and realized that his body was next to another. His eyes came down immediately and met Lilith who was sleeping beside him. She was facing the other side of the bed all cuddled up like a baby.

Ashton sighed and rubbed his eyes as he tried to recall what had happened last night. He could remember that they had a party and that he had talked to Annika before meeting Lilith. That was all he could remember.

Ashton sat erect and the memories began flowing. He could remember going on cocaine with her. Ashton slammed his palm on his forehead with disgust. She had convinced him to get high once more. Lilith knew all his buttons as she pushed them almost every time. He could remember the feeling of getting numb. He could remember kissing her cleavage and almost ripping her dress apart before a knock came on the door. It was his mother, Mabel. She had ordered them to come down to the party. Ashton wondered if she had noticed his cold and stony eyes. By the time he had returned downstairs, Annika had left. Or did she?

He recalled her talking to his father and shaking his hand before leaving. His memories were still distorted and vague. Finally, he could remember talking to her. The expression on her face was different from when she had first arrived. She seemed more irritated with him and had asked for permission to leave. Ashton knew that there was no way he could stop her, and so he had granted her wish.

After the party, Lilith drove both of them home. And ended up having sex all over the house. He could remember a scene from the kitchen, the couch, the shower, and then on the bed. Ashton sighed and shut his eyes as everything became clearer. The effects of the cocaine had worn off and he was back to normal. He rose from the bed and stood stark naked in the sunlight that flooded his room. Lilith, who had been awoken by this, turned around and watched him standing over the dresser. She chuckled at the sight of him naked and placed her hand on a cheek as she watched him.

"Good morning," she said.

Ashton turned to her in surprise.

"Did I wake you?" He asked.

Lilith nodded at him with a smile on her face.

"Are you going to make us breakfast?" She asked.

Ashton clenched his jaws as he heard that.

"No. I'm late for work, and you should get going too," he said.

Lilith stood up from the bed and went to him. Ashton was facing the dresser now. She hugged him from behind, wrapping her hands around him. Ashton could feel her breasts press against his back. Lilith leaned her head on him and closed her eyes. This was perfect. He was so hard and warm and she didn't want to let go. They both stood naked before the dresser. Ashton looked at his reflection in the mirror and clenched his jaws. He wasn't the type that cuddled up after sex and Lilith knew this very well.

"I have to get going now," he said. "I need a shower."

Lilith let go of him and turned to face him.

"We can have a shower together," she said excitedly.

"No, Lilith. I'll be late," he said.

"Well. You already are," she pointed out.

Ashton rolled his eyes and broke from her grip. He didn't have time to talk with her now. Yes, text he had been late on his first day, and today was looking like it was going to be the same story. Ashton got into the shower and slammed the door behind him. Lilith sat on the bed and ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. The cocaine had worn off so Ashton was back to being cold with her. Lilith always wished that they had never broken up, but at that time, it seemed like the right thing to do. They were too young and naive to be in a relationship. That had been in their freshman year. After being together throughout middle school and high school, she felt it was okay to give it a shot and she asked Ashton out.

Ashton had accepted, but thinking about it now, it seemed like he had done so out of empathy. Lilith shook her head in disgust. She was certain that Ashton had loved her the same way she loved him. And she knew he still wasn't over her the same way she was still clinging on to him. Though it had been until he had been drugged before he told her he still loved her, she still believed that it was genuine. It had to be genuine.

Lilith could hear water splashing in the bathroom. He was going to leave soon. It was best if she did that too. But where would she go? She had the day to herself. She might as well stay here. Though Ashton wouldn't say a word because he trusted her with his life, she didn't want to misuse that privilege. At least not yet.

A few minutes later, the door opened and Ashton came out dripping wet. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and used another to dry his hair. Lilith couldn't help but stare at his rock-hard abs as he came in.

"You could help yourself to breakfast," Ashton said as he stood by his dresser once more.

Lilith was holding herself from grabbing him from behind and kissing him until his lips turned sore. His black hair was wet and they shielded his forehead. Ashton was perfect, and he knew how to use that against women-even her. The only thing that made her different from the rest was that she never fought back, and would do anything for him. And also, she could make him do almost anything she wanted.

By the time she was back to reality, Ashton was already dressed up. He was dressed in a black suit with a white undershirt and a red pocket filler. His black hair was combed backwards making his blue eyes shine brightly. Lilith was drowning in loss before him.

"Okay. I'll be heading to work now," he said with a smile. "Have fun."

Lilith nodded, not fully understanding what he had said. Her eyes were fixed on him as he spoke. A few minutes later, Lilith could hear the engine of his Corvette roar smoothly before the sound disappeared slowly. Realizing that she was all alone now, she laid back on the bed and sighed.
