Chapter 3 An Unlikely Encounter

Ella tried to shake off the lingering effects of that morning as she walked into her small but cozy apartment. The memory of Alexandro's words haunted her: "This isn't over." She had no idea what he meant, but something told her that their paths weren't done crossing.

Life returned to its routine, though her thoughts often drifted to Alexandro. She buried herself in work at the design firm, determined to make a name for herself. Days turned into weeks, and just when she started believing her encounter with Alexandro was a fleeting moment, fate had other plans.

It happened at a grand charity gala her boss insisted she attend. Ella had spent hours preparing, choosing a sleek black dress that clung to her curves and accentuated her elegance. The event was filled with the city's elite-wealthy socialites, influential businessmen, and celebrities.

Ella felt out of place but kept reminding herself that she belonged there. After all, her designs had been chosen to decorate parts of the venue. She stood near the bar, nursing a glass of champagne when she heard that voice again.

"Ella."

Her heart skipped a beat. She turned, and there he was-Alexandro De Luca, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, exuding power and confidence. His piercing gaze locked onto hers, and the world around them seemed to fade.

"What are you doing here?" she managed to ask, her voice a mix of surprise and nervousness.

"I could ask you the same," he replied, his lips curving into a small smile.

Before she could respond, a stunning woman appeared by Alexandro's side, linking her arm through his. "Alexandro, darling, you've been keeping me waiting," the woman purred.

Ella felt a pang in her chest. She didn't know why it hurt so much to see him with someone else, but it did.

Alexandro's jaw tightened, and for a brief moment, his expression softened as he looked at Ella. "Excuse me," he said to the woman, stepping closer to Ella.

"We need to talk," he whispered, his voice firm.

Ella shook her head, her emotions swirling. "I don't think that's a good idea."

"Ella," he said, his tone laced with urgency. "Please."

Before she could reply, her boss called her over, breaking the moment. Ella walked away, feeling Alexandro's gaze on her the entire time.

The gala continued, but Ella's mind was elsewhere. As the night ended, she couldn't help but wonder-was this really a coincidence, or had Alexandro orchestrated their meeting?
