Pain.

Excruciating pain.

In a daze, I somewhat heard a pleasant voice.

A clear pain was felt in her ankle. This was Britney's first sensation upon waking up.

In the blink of an eye, Britney seemed to see a man. However, the sudden brightness made Britney close her eyes again.

"Where am I?" Britney asked.

"Hospital!" a deep and magnetic voice resonated in Britney's ears.

Britney couldn't help but open her eyes, and in the backlight, a man dressed in green appeared before her eyes. It must be said that the man's appearance and the outstanding aura emanating from him were more than just a little impressive.

"Are you okay?"

With the arrival of the girl, Britney recalled the phone call she vaguely heard, which was probably him asking Karsyn Melton to come over. Faced with the nervousness of her childhood best friend towards herself, tears welled up in her eyes, "Karsyn! I'm fine!"

"Speak up! What do you want?" The man remained indifferent.

"So you're the one who hit my Britney? Fortunately, I called you. Otherwise, this person would surely have fled to avoid punishment." Karsyn turned around and only then carefully examined the man in the room, and in that instant when she turned back, she was momentarily taken aback.

Britney grabbed Karsyn and, taking advantage of her distraction, said to the man, "Marry me!"

"Britney, did you lose your mind?" Karsyn snapped back to reality and pointed at the man in the room, raising her voice, "Did he knock some sense out of you? Are you going to marry him?"

"Although he was quite handsome... but you can't be deceived by looks!" Karsyn would never admit that when she saw this person, she was also amazed!

There was suddenly a sense of humor in the air. Britney looked up and met the man's cold gaze, feeling a strange sense of panic...

Britney adjusted her emotions. "Karsyn, believe me!"

Britney turned to the man and said, "Marry me, I will support you!"

"I...this..." Karsyn felt completely ignored and plopped down on the chair. "Britney, who is he?"

"I don't know!" Britney shrugged.

"What?" Karsyn was completely confused, "You don't know who it is, and you want to marry him? Do you realize that the person you want to marry is Conrad!"

"You hit the nail on the head!" Britney didn't answer, she shrugged and said helplessly.

Facing Karsyn's bewildered expression, Britney said directly, "I was cheated on!"

"That angelic bitch?"

Britney didn't deny it, nodding her head. 'Angelic bitch' is how Karsyn refers to Britney's so-called cousin. Karsyn had once warned Britney about Stephanie, but she chose to believe in Conrad...

Now... thinking about it is really ridiculous... to the extreme!

"He had the nerve to cheat! I'm going to teach him a lesson, damn it!" Karsyn said, grabbing her bag and standing up.

"Karsyn!" Britney exclaimed, putting a stop to it.

"My dear sister! At this moment, you wouldn't still be thinking about forgiving them and letting them off the hook, would you?" Karsyn was held back by Britney. With a face full of resentment, she was truly furious.

"Karsyn, I wanted to handle it myself!"

Britney smiled at Karsyn, reassuring her.

This matter was definitely not as simple as it seemed on the surface! However, she didn't want innocent Karsyn to know about these things. She clearly felt that the car had murderous intentions towards her...

"But, you can't just marry someone you don't know! You knew nothing about him!"

"The man had already died on the way to the hospital," the man lowered his head. "He had a criminal record and had just been released! I just received the test report, it was a case of drunk driving!"

"Go back first!"

Looking back, Britney collapsed in his arms, and a mysterious smile appeared at the corner of the man's mouth.
