Chapter 4 4

"Aren't we just pretending to make out? What if someone comes in again?"

Cassandra panicked and didn't obey Caspian's command to pull up the skirt she was wearing.

Caspian looked at her flatly. "Isn't it too late to be embarrassed? Alaric will definitely not keep quiet after seeing us together. Of course not."

Cassandra nodded, realizing that Caspian's plan to upset Alaric had worked.

"Alaric will surely spread bad rumors about you flirting with me. Then what else are you afraid of? Weren't you ready to accept all the consequences when you decided to take revenge on Alaric?"

Hearing those words, Cassandra fell silent.

"If you're embarrassed to do it here, I can understand. We can postpone it until the evening." Caspian relented, intending to let Cassandra down from his lap.

However, Cassandra hugged him instead, reluctant to be lowered by the 40-year-old man. "I'm not embarrassed. Just let them see. After all, they can't do anything to me except gossip. That gossip won't affect me."

The corners of Caspian's lips turned up at Cassandra's words. "In that case, now lift your skirt."

Cassandra obeyed Caspian's command and pulled up the skirt she was wearing, revealing her panties.

"Cute..." Caspian whispered softly as he saw the color of Cassandra's panties. "You know what to do next, don't you, dear?"

Cassandra nodded and wiggled her hips, giving a gentle massage to something she was sitting on. Her eyes looked up at him, who was also looking at her.

Their lips came together again. Unlike before, this time their kiss was completely voluntary. The sound of their sniffing and the rush of their breath filled Caspian's study, as they were busy making out until saliva dripped down their chins.

Caspian couldn't take it anymore. He quickly broke their kiss and lifted Cassandra onto his desk. "To hell with those files."

Cassandra lifted her hips, making it easier for him to remove her underwear while her legs were spread wide.

Alaric shook his desk and yelled to vent his anger. It had never occurred to him that his father would be in a relationship with Cassandra.

"Why does it have to be Cassandra out of all the women in the world?" he thought in frustration.

He knew that the reason his girlfriend had seduced his father must have been out of spite. However, Alaric still couldn't understand why his father would want to be with a woman much younger than him.

To make him even angrier, Alaric's engagement to Cassandra hadn't actually been called off, but his father had already made the first move without thinking about his position.

"It's all because of that bitch! If she hadn't seduced Daddy with her beautiful body, nothing would have happened. She's too confident," Alaric growled, wringing his black hair into a mess. His handsome face was flushed with emotion as he remembered the mocking smile on Cassandra's pretty face before he left his father's room.

This didn't go according to Alaric's plan. Cassandra should have been crying over his affair with Selene and begging Alaric to end his relationship with Selene, considering their impending engagement.

In the past, Alaric had begged Cassandra not to go to England to pursue her master's degree. But, the selfish Cassandra left anyway, and Alaric wants her to feel the same way so she knows how much abandonment hurts. But Cassandra turned around and slapped Alaric's pride by having an affair with his father.

"I will make Cassandra regret her foolish choice. After his curiosity wears off, Daddy will surely throw her away like garbage. And in the end, Selene and I will laugh at the collapse of Cassandra's pride," Alaric muttered as he looked at the portrait of a smiling Cassandra celebrating their anniversary before she left for England two years ago.

"Alaric, you're not joking, are you? How could Cassandra, that boring woman, have a special relationship with your father?" Selene stifled a cry of anger at Alaric's story.

She couldn't understand how Cassandra could find a new man so easily after just losing Alaric.

"You can't let them be together," Selene added, pounding the restaurant table with emotion.

"I'm not crazy about letting that blonde gold digger stick it to my daddy," Alaric retorted as he ate his lunch with gusto, ignoring Selene, who was furiously tossing her salad.

Selene had her reasons for approaching Alaric and taking him away from Cassandra: Alaric is the only son of one of the richest men in the United States. However, after feeling triumphant in the clouds, Selene felt like she had fallen to hard ground when she found out that her enemy was one step ahead of her. If Cassandra managed to get Caspian's full support, it would mean the end of Selene's hopes. She feared that all of her sacrifices would be in vain.

With a tense face, Selene turned to look outside the restaurant. Her hand gripped her fork tightly as she saw Cassandra and Caspian get out of the same car and walk hand in hand toward the restaurant where she was having lunch.

It wasn't just Cassandra who noticed the presence of the cheating couple, Caspian was looking in their direction as well. The two approached Selene and Alaric's table.

"You guys eat here too," Caspian said, causing Alaric to look up and notice his father's presence.

"Dad, who are you here with?" Alaric was surprised at first, but the expression on his face quickly turned flat when he saw Cassandra standing behind his father.

Unlike Selene, who quietly checked her appearance in the small mirror before smiling sweetly at Caspian. The man, however, thoroughly ignored her.

"Enjoy your meal," Caspian said matter-of-factly, then pulled Cassandra's hand toward the table by the window overlooking the flower garden.

Before they could sit down, Cassandra asked permission to use the bathroom. Meanwhile, Caspian sat in his chair and ordered food for himself and Cassandra.

In the bathroom, Cassandra was washing her hands when Selene entered, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Aren't you ashamed of teasing the father of your own future fiancé? I didn't expect you to stoop so low." Selene stared at the reflection of Cassandra's beautiful face in the mirror with a look of envy mixed with anger, for she had always been above her.

Cassandra snorted and turned to glare at Selene. "I can buy you a mirror. Watch your behavior before you throw words at your interlocutor."

Selene laughed out loud at that. "At least I didn't give my body to an older man."

Cassandra smiled a little and stepped closer to Selene. "Are you jealous that I got a handsome and wealthy man, while you only got his useless son? I know you were after him, but it was all for nothing. He never even looked at you. Then you moved on to flirting with Alaric, hoping he'd be the heir. Unfortunately, none of that's gonna happen while I'm still breathing."

"Cassandra!" Selene raised her right hand to slap Cassandra in the face, but she was quicker to catch it and squeeze it firmly. "Let go, bitch!"

"I'm going to make you both suffer for lying to me. I'll even make you regret ever taking a breath in this world," Cassandra said threateningly, then violently released her grip on Selene's hand.

Deliberately, Cassandra nudged Selene's shoulder and walked away, leaving her standing there with her emotions running high. Selene wanted to get back at Cassandra, but she had to keep her good name in front of Caspian.

Before Selene could calm her emotions, her cell phone vibrated. Quickly, she checked the screen. A message from her best friend appeared: "Come quickly. You owe me an explanation."
