Chapter 3 THE BETRAYAL

As Kathy delved deeper into Gabriel's world, she began to notice strange inconsistencies in his stories. At first, she had brushed it off as mere forgetfulness, but as the discrepancies continued to pile up, Kathy's suspicions grew. One night, as they sat together on the couch, Gabriel received a mysterious phone call. He excused himself and stepped outside, leaving Kathy alone in the dimly lit room. As she waited for Gabriel to return, Kathy's curiosity got the better of her. She began to snoop around the apartment, searching for any clues that might explain Gabriel's strange behavior.

It wasn't long before she stumbled upon a hidden folder on Gabriel's computer. The files were encrypted, but Kathy's determination drove her to crack the code. Just then, Gabriel walked back into the room, a smug smile spreading across his face. "Hey, babe, what's going on?" he asked, oblivious to the storm brewing inside Kathy. Kathy's eyes narrowed. "You know exactly what's going on, Gabriel," she spat, her voice trembling with rage. "I know all about your little scam. You're a con artist, aren't you?" Gabriel's smile faltered, and for a moment, Kathy saw a glimmer of fear in his eyes. But then, his mask slipped back into place, and he began to spin a web of lies to try and deceive Kathy once again. But Kathy was having none of it. She had finally seen the truth, and she was determined to confront Gabriel about his deceit. The argument that ensued was intense and emotional. Kathy poured out her heart, expressing all the pain and anger she felt. Gabriel, on the other hand, tried to deflect her accusations, using every trick in the book to try and manipulate Kathy into forgiving him. But Kathy was resolute. She knew that she deserved better than a man who would lie to her and use her for his own gain. As the argument drew to a close, Kathy made a decision. She would leave Gabriel, once and for all. She would take back control of her life and start anew. With a newfound sense of determination and purpose, Kathy walked out of Gabriel's apartment, leaving him and his lies behind.
