Chapter 4 004

HAILEY'S POV.

Suddenly I heard my phone ringing as i retrived it from the table, I found out that it was from an unknow number. I cleared my throat, took a deep breath and then pressed on the answer button.

As soon as I tucked it in my ear, I yelled, "what the hell is your problem, I am walking away from you so that you don't need to have a secret romance with your love. Still, Why are you calling me? For God sake please tell me what I do wrong by being in a relationship with you that you had the mind to betrayal me, and now when am calling off this relationship, you are still calling me?"

"Ahem......is this miss Lockwood?" Suddenly an unknown voice came from the other hand of the phone.

" Um.....yes, who is this?" I asked in astonishment.

"The CEO of the ABC Cooperation."

'what.....the CEO?' I got up in shock."ABC Cooperation? My new work place? Why is its CEO calling me? Please don't tell me that I am rejected or the earlier text was a mistake,' i thought panicking.

Holding my breath, I had to stay as quiet as I could, to hear what Mr. CEO has to say.

Camly and in a solemn tune, he said "we went your an email on behalf of our company to join us starting from tommorow. But we didn't get a comfirmation reply from you. So I wanted to make sure you got the email or not and weather you ready to join or not. But it seems like you are busy handling your own things. Should I call you later?"

Without letting his words calm down, nimbly, I said "i am heartily sorry about that sir, in exictment, I completely misremembered to reply. Am absolutely ready to join your company, even if you tell me to start from now on, I will not hesitate to join. I am super ready."

"Fine then, see you in ten minutes," he Commander shortly.

There was a clear hint of seriousness, which made me feel like he was not bluffing.

"I beg your pardon?" I gulped hard and clenched my fist. 'Great go on being confidence'' a voice inside me scolded.

"You said you can join now, right? So am saying you should join me in ten minutes in my company. Is there any problem? He asked.

"No, no, absolutely not. I will be there in a while" I said heading towards my wardrobe.

Digging into the pile of unmanaged cloth, I tried to search for a suitable cloth to wear, with my phone gripped between my shoulder and ear. Even though I wanted to hang up, but I round it rude, as he was the one who called.

So, I kept on clinging to the call preparing to leave. By any means I was not in the suitation to lose that incredible opportunity. Whatever it take I had to risk it grasp it within my palms.

"Hahaha"

I have just picked up a black dress when I suddenly heard a loud laugh coming from the other side of the phone. Hands coming to halt, my eyes narrowed in astonishment. It was difficult to know if he was serious or bluffing.

"I am just kidding, miss Hailey. I hadn't thought you would take it this serious, I love your spirit. Welcome to my company.

Sighing heavily, I stood panting my one hand on my hips and the other holding my phone. Even though I knew I had to express my gratitude for providing me with a job, stil nothing excaped my lips which was embrassing.

"Anyways, see you tommorow by nine in the morning." He spoke further.

"Got that, and by the way, am sorry for yelling......." Before I could complete my words, he hung up the call.

Staring at the blank screen, I was in dilemma weather to call back and ask for apology or just let it go. Heart running wild, desperation filled my veins. Due to my naive behaviour of not checking for the person who was calling, I was not able to celebrate my happiness in getting the job.

'Dear CEO!' i typed a message and thought for a while. I changed the 'dear' to ''respected'

'respected CEO, am heartily sorry for mistaking you as someone else and scolding you. I didn't want to be rude to you, trust me I didn't know it was you. I hope you forgive me for doing that and we could work peacefully in up coming days'

Finally, after typing and editing words more than five times, the text was ready, it was also sent as nd delivered in no second. The desperation in me increased when I didn't get any reply from him.

After a sleepless night, thinking about what he will be thinking about me and how my future life will turn. it was finally the next day, or can we call it a new day.

Eventually, the new day which I was waiting for was finally there.

Getting myself dressed in black skirt and white shirt I rolled my hair making a bun. Sitting by the mirror, I drew thin eyeliner above my eyelashes, applied a red lip stick and rubbed my lips against each other. Then grabbing my bag, I Walked out of my apartment.

Taking a cab, I headed toward my new workplace. But instead of excitement, my heart was filled with nervousness thinking about the embrassing phone call, not getting any reply from him added another pile of embarrassment.

"Miss!" when the driver called, I came out of my deep thought and replied "yes!"

"You said ABC Cooperation, right?" He questioned glancing at me through the rear-view mirror.

I nooded.

"We are already here," he Announced.

Soon after hearing him, I glanced outside the first thing that caught my sight was a big nameplate on the grey brick wall, which said, ABC COOPERATION which was written boldly, my heart skipped the second mind read the name.

Trying not to mess up, I stepped out of the cab after making the payment and I glanced at my wrist watch, all I can see was an empty wrist, it reminded me of Francis, my betrayal lover for whom I was ready to do anything with.

The days I came to know about his betrayal and compared myself with Daisy, the day when I looked into the mirror and tried to walk, talk and laugh like her, all of it refreshing in my mind, trying to make me sad. It was kind of funny when I recalled all those moment when I tried to emit her so that Francis wouldn't leave me for her.
