Chapter 3 You used to live here

The next day at college...

"What the heck, girl? You went on a date but didn't get laid by him? Seriously? I thought you'd at least have some fun with that handsome dude," Eira exclaimed loudly, not caring about their surroundings.

"Oh, come on, Eira. Stop with your dirty mind. I don't want to gossip about that. You know that's not my style," Amethysta said, covering Eira's mouth and glancing around nervously. Currently, they were in the college canteen, discussing their encounter with the handsome alpha from the previous night.

"He must be of foreign blood," Eira speculated.

"Nah, he's of mixed blood," Amethysta corrected her.

"Holy..." Before Eira could let out an exclamation, Amethysta quickly covered her mouth and hushed her.

"That's why he looked so attractive, like a total catch. If I were you, I'd have had a one-night stand with that alpha," Eira gushed over the young alpha who had shown interest in her friend. Amethysta rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"You have a fiancé, for goodness' sake. Don't entertain dirty thoughts," Amethysta scolded.

"Can I trade my fiancé for your handsome alpha, then?" Eira teased with a playful eyebrow wiggle. Amethysta slammed her hand on the table and stood up.

"Let's go. It's time for class," she declared, pulling her friend with her, putting an end to their playful banter.

"Boring bitch," Eira muttered under her breath as she followed her friend.

Their day passed uneventfully. After their classes were done for the day, they stepped outside and saw Amethysta's dad and Eira's driver waiting for them. They first rushed to greet Amethysta's dad.

"Hi, Uncle! How have you been? It feels like it's been ages since we last saw each other," Eira greeted the elder with a warm smile.

"Hello, young lady. Indeed, it has been a while. I'm doing well. And I heard that your family plans to announce your engagement soon," Patrick mentioned, causing Eira to chuckle nervously as she glanced at Amethysta, who was already shooting her a disapproving look.

"You... you didn't even bother to tell me about it," Amethysta expressed her disappointment at her friend for keeping such a significant piece of news from her.

"I'm really sorry. It was a last-minute decision. There's a party in two days to announce it officially. My family has already sent you and Uncle an invitation," Eira explained, her eyes glistening with sincerity. Amethysta wasn't pleased that her friend had kept her in the dark about the impending engagement party, especially with only two days left.

"Fine... Why should I even care? It's not like it's my wedding," Amethysta sulked in an exaggerated manner, turning the situation into one of their typical dramatic exchanges. After some playful bickering, the two friends left the college.

On their way home...

"So, little one, what did you learn today?" Patrick asked with affection, as if he were doting on his daughter at that moment.

"Nothing interesting, Dad... just the usual," Amethysta replied casually.

"In the next two days, I'll be quite busy. Can you handle it?" Patrick inquired.

"Of course, I can. It's not like it's something new for you to leave me alone," she responded with a hint of annoyance, rolling her eyes. Patrick looked at his daughter with concern, her violet eyes clearly reflecting her irritation. Despite his busy schedule, he always tried to find time to spend with her.

Two days flew by, and now Patrick and Amethysta were getting ready for the party.

"Are you ready or not, Darling? We're running late!" Patrick called from downstairs, adjusting his attire.

"Two more minutes, Dad. I'll be down in a moment," she shouted in response. After those two minutes, she descended the stairs, and as Patrick looked at his grown-up daughter, he theatrically wiped away fake tears.

"Enough with the drama, Dad. Let's go before we're late," she urged.

"Who's the one taking forever to get ready?" Patrick teased, earning a giggle from his daughter. They left their mansion, and after a short drive, the car pulled up at the party venue. They presented their invitations and entered.

"Finally, you're here! I've been dying to see you," Eira said dramatically, pretending to wipe away tears, and moved as if to hug her best friend.

"Don't you dare hug me! I'm still upset with you. You owe me something," Amethysta stopped Eira abruptly, a hint of cruelty in her tone as she pouted.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Just tell me what you want, Your Highness," Eira playfully bowed, and Amethysta chuckled. They shared a warm, tight hug before breaking away.

"You girls enjoy yourselves. I'll be heading out," Patrick said, preparing to leave the party. Eira grabbed Amethysta and headed straight for the buffet.

"By the way, where's your fiancé? I haven't seen him since I arrived," Eira asked.

"Who knows?" Eira replied with a mouthful of cupcake.

"He's your fiancé," Amethysta pointed out with a laugh.

"I doubt that," Eira replied with a hint of doubt in her voice.

"What do you mean?" Amethysta raised an eyebrow, curious.

"He's not acting like someone with a fiancée. I mean, anyone with a fiancée would at least try to flirt with them, right? But look at mine, he's just focused on his business," Eira vented her frustration, and Amethysta had to cough to hide her laughter at Eira's exaggerated statements.

"He didn't even spare a glance at me. I'm starting to wonder if he's even interested in girls," Eira blurted out, waving her hands in the air to release her frustration.

"Eira... I think you should be careful with your words," Amethysta coughed, trying to give her friend a subtle hint.

"What... I'm just speaking the truth. He doesn't even check out the hot girls in front of him. I seriously doubt he's any good in bed," Eira continued to express her doubts, not noticing the figure approaching her from behind.

"Let's see if I can meet your expectations," Mateo whispered near Eira's neck, causing her to shiver. She turned to find her fiancé standing just inches away. She had really messed up this time, and the cupcake she had eaten earlier seemed to have lodged itself in her throat.

"You two enjoy your privacy," Amethysta quickly excused herself, sensing the tension. Mateo was clearly offended by Eira's words.

"Amethysta, you traitor..." Eira muttered, refusing to even look at her fiancé in the face.

"Mateo... Let's talk... It's just a misunderstanding," Eira stammered in an attempt to clear the air.

"Oh, yeah... Let's talk... But let's do it in bed and clear up that misunderstanding," Mateo replied with a suggestive tone, leading Eira away.

After slipping away from the scene, Amethysta left the venue and began walking wherever her feet took her. She eventually stood before a lake, which gave off an eerie vibe, but she paid it little heed. A cold breeze sent shivers down her spine, but then she felt warmth enveloping her. She turned around and was stunned.

"We meet again, Princess," Isaias greeted with a warm smile. Unbeknownst to Amethysta, she believed it was Icarus with her, unaware of the existence of Icarus' twin brother.

"Mr. Icarus..." she began to say but then tilted her gaze up to see the person in front of her, realizing it was him, her heart involuntarily racing.

"Yes, Princess?" Isaias responded calmly.

"What... What are you doing here? This is the pack's territory. What if..." she began to express her concern, but he placed his index finger on her rosy lips to silence her. Amethysta felt unfamiliar with this man standing before her, her intuition telling her that something was different about him.

Her intuition was correct. It wasn't Icarus but Isaias, the identical twin brother of Icarus. Their striking resemblance made it difficult for her to discern between them, especially since she wasn't accustomed to anyone's presence around her like theirs.

"This area doesn't fall within the pack's territory, Princess. The exact radius ends right there," Isaias pointed out a specific spot, and after realizing this, Amethysta chuckled.

"You're absolutely right, Mr. Icarus. May I inquire what brings you here at this hour?" she asked, hugging the coat closer to herself.

"What about you, Princess?" Isaias replied, his voice sending a strange flutter through her heart and stomach.

"I came here because of my friend, but she abandoned me. They're inside discussing pack matters, which isn't really my cup of tea. So I decided to get some fresh air," Amethysta explained, letting out a sigh. Isaias's eyes seemed to be fixated on her lips, which occasionally tempted him to bite.

"You didn't tell me why you're here," she added, her curiosity piqued.

"I came here to reminisce about my memories," Isaias revealed as they began to walk. Amethysta snuggled against his coat, inhaling the pleasant scent, unaware that it was his pheromones affecting her.

"You used to live here?" she asked with an intrigued tone, puzzled by the fact that he had mentioned being of mixed blood before. Her mind was filled with questions, and she felt like she was on a rollercoaster of emotions.

"Yes, Princess, we lived here. My mother used to bring me here often. I have vivid memories of those days. It was a beautiful part of my past," Isaias said, his tone carrying a hint of sadness. Amethysta was unsure how to react to this revelation.
