Chapter 5 Goodbye..

ALPHA LUCIUS

"You will regret this decision, Damon,"Nadia said without any atom of remorse as she addressed me by my name.

This statement triggered the anger of the pack members as they (Nadia and Beta Caius) had to run to escape them to avoid being killed.

Nadia, who was once adorned with the illusion of power now had to face the consequence of her actions.

When they left, there was silence all over the pack. I turned my attention to Isabella with a softness in my eyes that betrayed the fierceness of my leadership. "Isabella, you have endured more than any wolf should. We stand by you."

Later that night, I sent one of my servants to call Isabella for me.

When she entered, her presence seemed like a symbol of hope in the darkness that surrounded us. "Isabella," I started with gratitude and sincerity in my voice. "You have really done a great thing for the pack. I needed to say thank you."

Her eyes was like a reflection of peace and light as it met mine. "Alpha Damon, I only did what was right for the pack," she responded with humility.

As I expressed my appreciation, I became concerned about her health. "How are you after the treatment? Can you please turn around? I want to be sure you are fine."

Isabella complied as she turned with trust. I examined her body to see the areas that were injured.

"In no time, you will be fine," I gently reassured her.

My initial motive of expressing my gratitude to her suddenly began to shift. In my own power as the alpha, I tried to subdue my emotions but it finally found its way out.

"Isabella, you have saved this pack from a darker date by revealing Nadia's deceit," I said while still struggling with my emotions.

The struggle to hold back my emotions was not easy but what did not allow it was the alcohol I had taken to suppress the pain of the betrayal I felt since the revelation by Isabella.

In that moment of weakness, our lips met. Isabella made attempt to resist it but considering the fact that she has been longing for me, she allowed the kiss say the words her heart could not say.

From kissing, we moved into what seemed a moment of intimacy we have both longed for silently.

We both thought we had a memorable night and had enjoyed the company of each other until it was morning. That was when the harsh reality of our actions last night dawned on us.

"Isabella, this was a mistake. It wouldn't have happened," I said while requesting that she leaves immediately.

I watched her dress in silence and disappointment all over her face.

"It was the alcohol," I added as I tried to justify my actions.

She left my house betrayed and broken with tears in her eyes. I could clearly see the witnesses of her pain -the tears- but what can I do? Nothing! I can't accept her.

As she left, I was alone in my home struggling with the consequences of my mistake last night. "I shouldn't have done that. What do I do now?" I asked myself.

"I have broken her trust and I don't know what will be the date of the pack if they get to know if this," I continued blaming myself.

As the day passed by, I vowed to rebuild what was lost. At this moment in the pack, they need a leader who is free from any form of guilt.

"The same Isabella that saved me from Nadia's evil plans is now the same Omega suffering from my own foolishness. She deserves more than this broken bond and heartbreak," I said to myself.

ISABELLA

As I reached my home in tears, I recalled all that transpired between the Alpha and I.

"I allowed it to happen," I blamed myself. I made myself available to the Alpha to ease the pain of his betrayal.

Tears flowed swiftly as I carried the shame of my own weakness.

"Now I truly accept the fact that they call me a powerful Omega because what is this I have done?"

In my home, I cried my eyes out as I allowed my emotions to consume me. The walls witnessed my silent sobs as shame was written all over me.

How did I allow myself to become a pawn in a game I didn't understand?

As the morning passed, I made a firm decision within me. I can't keep blaming myself for a mistake made out of my vulnerability. I needed to accept it, learn from it, and move on.

"Isabella, you deserve more than this," I said to myself softly as I cautioned and advised myself.

"It is time to reclaim my strength," I concluded within me.

As days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, everybody moved on from the betrayal that affected the whole pack including me.

It was not long when I noticed some changes in my body which was later proven to be pregnancy.

This discovery brought a mixture of emotions that I was not completely ready to face at the moment.

"How could I be pregnant when I was still trying to recover from the pains and betrayal so far?

I thought of what to do and leaving the pack seemed like the only better option.

I concluded that I wouldn't bring a child into this world with the complexities of my past. Tears found its way out but not just from regret this time but also from the painful acceptance of the life ahead.

With a determined heart, I packed the little things I had and got ready to set out into the unknown.

I waited till it was night, carried my bags, but hesitated. I was caught in-between hope and fear. A part of me longed for the Alpha to change his heart while the other part insisted I leave without looking back.

I followed the second option and without looking back, I said "goodbye" to the Eclipse pack and walked away with a heavy heart.
