Chapter 4 Please Braydon

Braydon maintained his silence.

With a deep breath, Irene steeled her resolve and asserted, "You can do whatever you like with me."

"Really? Anything?" Braydon questioned.

Without hesitation, Irene replied, "Absolutely, as long as it means you'll assist me."

Braydon reached out, helping her to her feet, and carefully extricated her heel caught in a crack.

Leaning slightly on his shoulders, Irene queried, "Does this mean you agree?"

His response was a subtle nod as he guided her toward his car. "Where's your home?"

As Irene glanced at his sleek black Mercedes, her grip tightened. "Have you been following me?"

A glance from him was followed by a playful smile as they settled in the car. Braydon started the car and replied, "Absolutely. I'm satisfied with your body, so I had to keep an eye on you."

The memories of the previous night made Irene flush with a mix of embarrassment and confusion.

"Try to fit in some exercise," Braydon said as they drove. "Being my partner requires a bit of physical endurance. Where do you live?"

"Riverbend Villa," Irene responded, her cheeks warm with embarrassment, her eyes shut. "And we need to make a stop at the Hudson family's villa first."

Although Irene's usual routine included morning jogs, her recent schedule left little room for such activities. It wasn't her stamina that was lacking. Braydon's endurance was just overwhelming.

Upon arriving at the Hudson family's villa, Braydon parked the car. As Irene stepped out, he said behind her, "If your vagina is still sore, consider some ointment.

His words turned Irene's ears a bright shade of red. Braydon was the only man she'd ever been intimate with.

Pretending she hadn't heard him, Irene limped through the gates of the Hudson family's villa. Entering the living room, she was met by the stern gaze of Kyra Hudson, Cade's mother.

Kyra gave Irene a piercing look from head to toe and said sharply, "You spent last night with that man, didn't you?"

Taking a hesitant step back, Irene replied, "Kyra, I didn't betray Cade. It was he who betrayed me."

Kyra retorted, "He and Dolores have been an item for over two years. If not for your interference, they might have been married by now."

Feeling a tightness in her chest and a sting in her palms, Irene recognized the name Dolores James. She responded calmly, "If that's the case, I'll seek a divorce from Cade."

Irritated by Kyra's biting tone, Irene frowned and added, "Cade was unfaithful first. My desire for a divorce is justified. He loves Dolores, after all. You should be glad I'm relinquishing my role as Mrs. Hudson."

"Irene, you now have a more significant role-to please Braydon." Kyra fixed her gaze on Irene and enunciated each word sharply, "As for the divorce, forget it. You're tied to Cade for life."

Two years ago, when Damien fell critically ill, the Hudson heirs began competing for position. Kyra was determined not to see Cade falter at such a pivotal time. By keeping Irene close, she ensured the Dixon family's support for Cade, a strategic advantage in the inheritance battle for the Hudson estate. And now that Irene had fortuitously caught Braydon's attention, there was no way that Kyra would let her go.

Kyra had always disliked Irene, partly because Kyra's husband, Blaine Hudson, had once courted Irene's mother.

To Kyra, having her son marry the daughter of Blaine's old flame was particularly annoying.

Blaine's obsession with antiques and his lack of business savvy meant Kyra often had to intervene to secure Cade's inheritance of the Hudson fortune. Therefore, she was adamant about blocking any divorce for Irene at this moment.

Irene felt her heart tremble as she noted the determination in Kyra's eyes and clenched her fists.

"Don't assume being with Braydon means you can escape us. The Scott family will not accept a divorced woman among them," Kyra said, her attention briefly turning to adjust the flowers on the shelf.

Irene's complexion turned even paler. "You all know..."

"Indeed. Why else would Cade refuse to be intimate with you?" Kyra didn't even turn to face Irene as her voice dropped colder. "Forget the divorce, Irene. It won't benefit you. And don't use Braydon to seek revenge against us. You're not capable of playing that game."
