Chapter 2 Tale of the Virgin Ghost

Asher woke up the following morning feling pains all over his body, he touched his head and remembered the nightmare he had.

"Gosh, what kind of nightmare was that ?" He thought.

He heard the water from the bathroom running, he blinked rapidly wondering when he forgot to turn off the tap; then it hit on him that he didn't even take a shower before going to bed last night - as he look at himself, and realized he is still on the dress he wore after freshen up which is unlike him. He never felt comfortable going to bed without a shower.

He put all the thoughts aside and went to turn off the tap when then he heard the door click open.

"Who is there ?" He shouted, already angry, he went outside and saw no one. Which made him reflect back to nightmare he had. He remembered the light going on and off, and he passed out afterwards. He wondered what it's all about - but refuse to bother himself with it.

He looked at the doorknob to be sure if anything is wrong with the door, but the problem is not from the door, the problem is from the house.

He instantly felt shiver down his spine, at the thought that the house might be haunted, although he don't believe on those stuffs. In order to get his mind off it, he went to freshen up and decide to prepare breakfast. Cooking is a hubby he practiced since childhood. If he wasn't born into a conglomerate family, he would have loved to be a Chef.

He went to the market to get groceries, there he overheard people talking about the house he is staying.

"I heard a man moved in there."

"A man ? I wonder how long he will stay?"

"That house is haunted, but gullible people keeps falling victims to the agents, and running away after few days."

Asher got alarmed by their words, and it recalled to him that what happened yesterday wasn't a dream and even today, was another mysterious experience, so he went closer to them to get clearer information.

"Excuse me ma'am ,how do you know the house was haunted?" He asked, his curiously piqued.

"It is haunted by a virgin ghost. The first residence there all died in an accident, remaining their only daughter. She wandered alone in the house because everyone avoided her, blaming her for her family's misfortune. One day, she was found d£ad; her body rotten inside. No one knows when she d!ed and no one dared to touch the body until it dried off, and the pieces were thrown into the ocean. Since then, she haunted every new residence in that house; no one ever last two nights there. She scare them away to de@th, and she even almost k!lled the last resident that moved in there four months ago - the man tried to prove smart, but he managed to last two nights before he ran off." The woman said, concluding the story.

Asher's eyes wide in shock, as everything makes sense now,; the reason why the house was cheap, and everything that has happened so far, it all makes sense. He left the place without uttering a word, he even left the things he bought behind dumbfounded.

"Who is he?"

"He seems new in this area, I haven't seen him before."

"Gosh, could he be the new resident in that house?"

He heard the women say, as he stopped a taxi, with intention to move out.

Olivia tried to convince her parents about her wedding, bringing up an excuse that Asher went on a business trip, so the wedding would be postponed.

"That's very lame, he fixed the date to fit in his schedule, so why the sudden business trip?" Mr. Wilson shouted.

"Livy, you can be honest with us, what is the real cause of the sudden postponement, are you two having misunderstandings ?" Mrs. Wilson asked.

"No, there is no misunderstanding, the wedding was simply postponed because of his business trip, why won't you just understand and bear with us ?"

"Bear with you ? Do you think this wedding is only about the both of you? Do you know how far my invitation went? You are getting married, my only daughter is getting married for crying out loud."

"Dad, no one asked you to invite heaven and earth to the wedding, I might have asked once, but I take it back now. Right now, I just want to get married when Asher returns." Olivia cried, confusing her parents.

Mrs. Wilson held her husband's hand to warn him against further questioning, and they watch Olivia ran to her room.

"Do you think all is well ?" Mrs. Wilson asked, confused.

"Something doesn't seem right, I will call Mr. Ryder and discuss this with him. They can't just push us around as they please." Mr. Wilson said and dialed Mr. Ryder's number.

The Wilsons' are well known billionaires, who invest in various successful groups. They don't have a company of their own, but they have been famous in three generations as billionaire investors, they invest highly in successful companies, and they are one of the highest shareholders in Spectra Group, the group owned by the Ryders; having equal shares as the Ryders in the company. Besides that, they are known to have large amount of shares in other groups as well, no one knows how many companies the Wilsons' had shares, which earned them their respect among the conglomerate, even the Ryders' highly respected them.

Mr. Ryder pant hard, pacing tho and fro in the living room, making his wife curious.

"Honey, what's bothering you, you have been panting since you dropped your call." She said, obviously concerned.

"It's Mr. Wilson, it seems like Olivia lied to them that Asher went on a business trip, which warrant their wedding to be postponed. He wants to discuss that, he refused to agree to the postponement. He feels disrespected that we came to that conclusion without consulting him. How will I handle this?"

"Were you able to reach Asher ?"

"No, calling him sent me to voicemail."

"And Axel?"

"I summoned him, he will be here shortly."

"What are you going to do to him this time ?" She asked, worriedly.

"I don't know, I already disowned him and warned him never to return, but look at what he did - he returned to impersonate his brother and caused this mess. What else can I do with that boy? Should I lock him behind bars ?"

"Come on, honey, that's too much to joke with."

"I don't know what to do, we are at the brick of losing our investment with the Wilsons'. Do you know how hard I worked to get that investment?"

"Honey, please relax. Asher and Axel are both our sons, you might have disowned him ,but that didn't change the fact that our blood flows in his vein, so let's try to hear him out."

Asher alighted from the taxi, and the taxi driver gave him a second look before he drove off, and Asher could already tell what's on his mind. He went in with intention to carry his luggage and flew back home or abroad; wherever he could think of, far from here, the haunted house, and the virgin ghost.

He entered into the compound, and felt shiver down his spine as he suddenly got scared.

"Should I just leave the luggage and go home ?" He thought.

"Come on, be a man, you can't be scared over a lame story. The only reason why you are leaving is because this place didn't feel like home, you have nothing to fear."

He was trying to convince himself, when an insect hit his face and fly off - he jumped in fear and almost passed out .

" I should go get my bags, and get out of here." He said out loud.

He tiptoed in fear, his body shaken and different thoughts running on his head, he went in and the door closed even before he could close it - scaring him more.

"Arrgghh..." He screamed, and turned around in fear to see a beautiful young lady, he blinked his eyes rapidly to be sure of his sight, and yes, she was still there.

"Whoooooo...." He trembled, pointing his fingers at her, he didn't believe she was a ghost because she doesn't look scary; he thought she was an intruder - but he was still scared of her.

She looked at him and tried to trace his finger elsewhere, but it's accurate - he was pointing at her.

"You can see me ?" She asked, her face brighten.

"You can see me ?" Her words echo in his ears, and he was unable to control his bladder; as he peeped on his pant in fear.
