Nadine's POV

I wait eagerly for his response, but he stays silent for some time, his eyes locked on mine as if trying to read my thoughts.

His intense gaze makes me uneasy, but I gather the courage to ask, "What is it?"

He leans back, a smirk tugging at his lips, and finally reveals his proposition. "A contract marriage with me for two years. I'll help you get the revenge you need and settle your mother's medical bill," he says matter-of-factly.

I'm shocked at how much he knows about me. My mother has been ill for quite some time, and my father has shown no concern whatsoever. Despite my father's indifference, she still loves him unconditionally.

I've tried several times to raise money on my own, but every attempt has failed. My mother's health continues to deteriorate, and I feel helpless.

"How do you know so much about me? We've never met before," I blurt out, unable to contain my curiosity.

"I take pleasure in knowing about people who pique my interest," he replies with a stoic expression. "So, what do you say?"

I weigh the costs and benefits of his proposal: a contract marriage for two years, help with my mother's medical bills, and the chance to get revenge. It seems like I have nothing to lose.

But I need to understand his motives. "What do you stand to gain from all of this?" I ask, wanting clarity before making a decision.

"I want an heir from you," he states bluntly, catching me off guard.

"An heir?" I repeat, shocked by how casually he mentions it.

"Yes, an heir, is that too much to ask, " he says nonchalantly.

I'm left reeling, my thoughts spinning. The idea of settling my mother's medical bills and getting revenge on Jake and Nathalie is tempting, but at what cost? Could I go through with the idea of having a child with someone I don't love?

The thought of having a child with someone I feel nothing for seems impossible, but memories of our wild night together flood my mind, and a blush creeps across my cheeks. The way he pays attention to my body, his touch alone making my clit throb and slip with juice, his lips on my nipples.

To say the least, It's an unforgettable experience, one that will always stay with me. He gives me a knowing look as if he can read my thoughts.

"I believe we can make this arrangement work," he says with a smile that takes my breath away, bringing me out of my lustful thoughts.

He knows he affects me, and his smirk shows it. The tension between us rises, almost unbearable.

I've always wanted a child, but not with a total stranger. Going back to my father's house isn't an option, and I can't stand seeing Nathalie and Jake together.

"I'll do it," I blurt out.

His smirk widens into a satisfied smile. The tension in the room eases slightly, with a building anticipation.

"Excellent. You won't regret this decision, Nadine," he says with triumph in his voice.

"I hope not," I reply, trying to sound confident, though my voice wavers slightly.

He claps his hands, and a man enters with a folder.

I'm confused. How did he know I'd agree? It seems like he's already drafted the contract. After all, he's a billionaire, used to sealing deals, and this is no different.

He hands me the folder. I take it with trembling hands and slowly open it to read through the contract.

The terms are clear: the duration of our marriage, the financial arrangements, and the expectations from both sides.

There's a promise of a hundred million dollars if everything goes as planned. How rich is this man? I glance at him, assessing. His whole appearance screams wealth, and I'm in awe. It feels too good to be true.

He nods as if he can read my mind. I have nothing to lose. After two years, I'll be free, and my mother will get the best treatment.

I've given up on love, especially after Jake. I need to pay Nathalie back, and I've got a man way richer than Jake, even if it's only temporary.

His intense gaze is still on me, quiet as I think about the decision I just took.

Then he breaks the silence. "Just to clarify, there will be no falling in love. We'll only act as a loving couple in public, and share a room to make it believable, but no intimacy. Touching is off-limits."

He continues, "We'll have sex once a month, solely to produce an heir. You won't interfere in my business, and I won't interfere in yours. You'll be my wife in every sense, and you will not be involved with any other man," he finishes, arrogance dripping from his words.

I watch him speak, his arrogance evident. I'm not interested in falling in love with anyone, especially not someone as egotistical as him. I can handle pretending to be a loving couple, and as for intimacy once a month, I can live with that, just to satisfy my cravings without any emotional ties.

"Where do I sign?" I ask, knowing I have nothing to lose.

"Here," he says, pointing to the spot and offering me a pen.

So I take the pen and sign without hesitation. This is far from over because, little do I know, this decision will come back to haunt me in the future.
