Chapter 2 Safe me

Vivian's POV

"Let me go!" I shouted, struggling against the men's grip. I thought I had finally escaped, but now I realized I had walked into a trap - a dangerous one.

"It would have been better if you hadn't injured my toes," I spat, defiance burning within me. "Who the hell are you? What do you people want from me?"

My struggles were futile; they were too strong. My words fell on deaf ears.

"Shut her up!" the man they called "Boss" ordered, emerging from the shadows.

One of his men produced a white cloth and gagged me, silencing my cries. I glared at the blue-eyed man, my eyes blazing with determination.

I will make sure you regret this, I thought, but the cloth muffled my voice.

As they dragged me away, I shot him a venomous glance, my mind racing with plans for escape.

As they dragged me deeper into the darkness, I couldn't help but think of my family and friends. Would I ever see them again?

The blue-eyed man's gaze lingered in my mind, sending shivers down my spine. Who was he, and what did he want from me?

We reached a black SUV, and they tossed me into the backseat. The door slammed shut behind me, and I was trapped.

The engine roared to life, and we sped away into the night. I struggled against the gag, but it was too tight.

Suddenly, the blue-eyed man appeared beside me, his eyes gleaming in the dim light.

"You're quite feisty," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I like that."

I glared at him, my anger and fear boiling over.

"What do you want from me?" I demanded, my voice muffled by the gag.

He smiled, his lips curling upward.

"All in good time," he whispered, his breath caressing my ear.

I shuddered, my heart racing with terror. Where were they taking me? And what did they plan to do with me?

"Stop the car!" the blue-eyed man ordered.

The vehicle halted, and I wondered if we had finally arrived. I scanned my surroundings, expecting to see a house or some sign of civilization. But there was nothing.

The blue-eyed man stepped out, signaling to the others to leave. I watched through the side mirror, curious. Wasn't he coming with us? Where was he going?

As the car pulled away, I lost sight of him. My anxiety spiked.

We drove for a few more minutes before arriving at a stunning, isolated building. Its grandeur was eerie, surrounded by nothing but emptiness. No neighboring houses, no other structures - just this solitary mansion.

Its beauty belied the fear gripping my heart. What lay within its walls?

The guard drove into the compound, and I was immediately struck by the sheer number of guards stationed at every angle, their guns at the ready.

"How interesting," I thought, my voice barely above a whisper. "Is this how I'll meet my end?"

The car stopped, and a chill ran down my spine. If they decided to harm me here, no one would ever know.

With a mix of fear and determination, I stepped out of the car, limping due to my injured leg. Two men grasped my arms, dragging me toward an underground basement.

As we descended, I swallowed hard, fighting the numbness spreading through my throat.

One of the men opened the door to a dingy room and pushed me inside. I fell onto my injured toes, and a sharp pain shot through my foot. I winced, clutching my leg.

The room was cold, dark, and foreboding. I wrapped my arms around myself, seeking comfort in the isolation.

I huddled in the corner, my eyes adjusting to the dim light. The room was sparse, with stone walls and a single flickering bulb. A metal door slammed shut behind me, and I heard the sound of locks clicking into place.

"Welcome to your new home," a voice sneered from outside.

The voice is different from the blue_eyes man

"What do you want from me?" I shouted, my voice echoing off the walls.

There was no response.

Hours passed, or what felt like hours. Time lost meaning in this darkness.

I heard footsteps outside, followed by the sound of a tray being slid through a slot in the door.

"Food," a voice called.

I hesitated, but hunger won out. I crawled toward the slot and retrieved the tray.

A plain meal - bread, cheese, and water.

As I ate, my thoughts drifted back to my family, and a wave of sadness washed over me. But hunger drove me to continue, my sole motivation being to regain strength for my eventual escape.

The door creaked open, and a guard entered, his rough grasp dragging me to my feet. My injured toes throbbed in protest. I desperately needed medical attention.

As we left the dimly lit room, the sudden brightness assaulted my eyes, forcing me to squint.

"Move," the guard ordered, his tone firm but impersonal.

I obeyed, following him through the corridors, unsure of our destination.

As I entered the big, fancy building, I was amazed by how busy it was. Maids were rushing around, wearing nice uniforms that made my torn clothes look even worse. Guards were standing everywhere, watching carefully.

This person must be very powerful.

The guard took me through the hallways to a fancy door. He knocked twice, and a deep voice told us to come in.

I stepped inside, and suddenly, a guard shoved me to the ground. I winced in pain.

"Can't they treat me with dignity?" I thought, scanning the room for someone in authority.

"Leave!" a voice commanded.

I stood up, relieved, but was swiftly dragged back.

"Didn't he just tell me to leave?" I wondered, confused.

"Let go of my clothes!" I demanded "Are you deaf? Your boss just ordered me to leave!"

"I told you, you've got the wrong person," I insisted. "Now you're disobeying orders. Release me!"

I turned to face the person holding me, expecting a guard. Instead, I saw someone else.

The guard bowed and swiftly departed, leaving me with this new figure.
