Chapter 4 Plan B

I typed the password that Cyber told me , a beep sound came and the lock moved . I turned the circular grab handle of the volt and started to turn it. The vault door opened with a scratching sound. Inside was lightened up with lights. I stepped inside and there they were , sitting in the centre of the twelve blue stones but there was something else.

"You did not tell me there is another safe made of transparent blue glass with a digital glass keypad on it".

"There is another safe ? He never told me there was another safe". I removed my hand from over the door and walked closer. The door closed behind me . Suddenly a female voice of artificial intelligence rang through the safe .

"Welcome Gilberto ". I looked around. He still has access to this system , I thought.

I typed the date when all this started. It declined . Two more tries are left. I entered another number. It again declined . One chance is left.

"What could it be?" Cyber's voice came from the other side. I looked at my bracelet,I saw only fifty seconds left.

"Cyber, do you remember anything? Something he had mentioned, some date , anything?".

"I can not remember. He did not say anything ". His voice was feeling panic. I can hear my boss's voice in the background.

"Cyber calm down. I want you to think". Something clicked my mind. If I am going down then I would not go down without giving it another try. I typed the number .

"It worked".Scrapping of chairs were heard from the other side . The glass door slided , the twelve blue rectangle cut diamonds were shining brightly. I picked those up from its tray and put them in one of my pouches and in place of them I placed identical looking fake stones as well as closed the glass door then when I moved to open the door and found it locked. I twisted the handle but the door did not budge . Damn it.

"I can not keep the system hacked any longer".

I looked at the ceiling of the safe and said "Plan B". Chaos erupted on the other side of the line.

I looked at my bracelet, one second left. The colour of the lights inside the vault changed into blue colour lights. The poisonous gas started coming out from the holes on the floor and forced me to grab the wall. Suddenly the gas stopped and water began to fill the safe rapidly. I unclasped my belt and held it above my head. My body started floating as the water almost reached my chin. With each rise of water level it was elevating me upward , when I was near the ceiling I pulled out the squibs from my bag and placed each of them on the rim of the lead of the ceiling that leads to the opening of the pipeline room of the hall.

After placing I took a lungful of breath,swam down, moved my body to the side wall and clicked the button of the explosives. A ticking sound was heard followed by the loud explosion of the lead which exploded into tiny pieces in front of me. I swam out of the hole . My other three teammates were already there, one pulled me up , placed a film on top of the opening to stop the water and the other two changed the flow of elements back to as they were before . They had closed the poisonous air stop cork and started the water by opening the other stop cork while I was inside.

I was on the floor ,taking deep breaths, I was completely wet from head to toe , coughing water. My coworker helped me to stand up by grabbing my arm and supporting my weight against his. We can not stay there much longer . I covered my mouth and coughed one last time, more water came out of my mouth made me feel better. I stood up straight and put my belt back on.

"Let's go". We moved , and opened the exit door. We were on the toppest floor of the hall. After exiting the room we parted ways. I covered my face with a black cloth. There was a window at the end of the hallway. I moved as fast as I could, unlocked the window and climbed out of it. Keeping my back against the wall I began to walk on the narrow passage,outside the window. There was a tree not far away from where I was . The branches were long enough for me to catch them. So without any more time I rushed to the tree and jumped on the branch but unfortunately my leg slipped making me lose my balance but I caught the branch .My training kicked in. I swung my body a little, using the momentum I lifted my right and placed it on the branch, after making it secured I elevated my entire body on the tree.

I moved to the next branch but the commotion attracted the attention of the guards patrolling the area . They flashed the lights near the wall. I pushed myself back against the tree trunk when they custard the light on the tree. The tree crickled a little. The light was moving where I was when one of them said "Maybe it was a bird". After a few minutes they left. I moved from one branch to the other until I reached the one that was close to the wall. I jumped down and landed on the top of the wall. Luckily there were no cameras making it easy for me to escape from the hall. Getting off the wall I ran three blocks down the road where the car was waiting for me . They opened the door for me to get inside fast and then we drove to the headquarters.

After twenty minutes they reached the headquarters. We left our car in the basement where the other cars are parked and took the elevator that leads to the main floor. Within a minute we were exiting the elevator and stepped inside a busy office, the walls were white, every member of the headquarters had their own cubicle, and people on high post had their own office. There is someone always up for your business because half of the organisation is filled with sexiest men.

I opened the conference room where my boss and other colleagues were present. I put my almost dry bag on the table and sat down on the empty chair in front of me before giving my boss a nod. Our VP , my boss's nephew, took the bag and opened it to take the diamonds out.

One thing I did right I used all the explosives , otherwise he would have gotten a ticket straight to hell and I would be taken under custody for no reason though we would have gotten a long vacation.

He lifted one diamond and held it against the light. If I meet a person more greedy than this one I will change my name . I could clearly see dollar signs in his eyes.

"Well gentlemen I am taking my leave". I left the room and went straight to Cyber's lab. I knocked on his door when no response came. I entered the code and entered his room .

"Hey ,...".

"Where is this guy?". I left his room . His door closed on its own when I stepped out of his room.
