As I stood there, gazing into his eyes, I felt a sensation unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was as if our souls were connecting, intertwining, and becoming one. The bond between us was like a gentle hum, a vibration that resonated deep within my chest. It was warm, comforting, and reassuring, like a soft blanket wrapped around my heart.
I felt seen, truly seen, for the first time in my life. His eyes held a deep understanding, a knowing that went beyond words. It was as if he could see into the very essence of my being, and yet, he still chose to be with me. The connection between us was effortless, like a key fitting perfectly into a lock. It was as if we had been designed to be together, to complement each other's strengths and weaknesses.
As I breathed in, I felt his presence fill my lungs, his earthly scent mingling with mine. It smelt like summer rain, one that was cool and refreshing at the same time. It was intoxicating, heady, and exhilarating. I felt alive, truly alive, for the first time in my life. The bond between us was like a river, flowing smoothly, effortlessly. It was ever-changing, yet constant, like the tides of the ocean.
I felt a sense of peace, of belonging, that I had never felt before. It was as if I had finally found my home, my true home. It was as if our souls had known each other for centuries, and yet, I couldn't sense that he was a wolf, he didn't smell like one too. I instantly believed him to be human, and a pang of uncertainty hit me.
I was happy to have finally met my mate, but deep within me, I knew it was too late. The private ceremony set up by the pack elders was only few days away, and I knew that even if I showed up with my mate, there was a chance that the pack would never accept a human as my mate.
I felt conflicted in my heart, torn between my duty to the pack and my desire to be with this mysterious stranger. I didn't even know his name yet, but I felt a deep connection to him, one that went beyond words.
As I looked into his eyes, I saw a kindness and understanding that I had never seen before. He seemed to see me, truly see me, and yet, I knew that I couldn't be with him. I was happy to have finally met him, but deep within me, I knew it was too late.
The pack elders had already set the ceremony in motion, and I knew that even if I showed up with my mate, there was a chance that the pack would never accept him. He was human, after all, and I knew that some of the pack members would see him as weak, as inferior. Even if they did, I would be endangering him by bringing him into our world.
And then there was the danger. If the warriors chose to challenge him, I would be putting him in harm's way. I couldn't bear the thought of losing him, of seeing him hurt.
I felt a pang of sadness, knowing that I might never be able to be with him but as I looked into his eyes, I saw a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, we could find a way to be together.
I took a step closer to him, my heart pounding in my chest. I wanted to be near him, to feel his presence, to bask in the warmth of his gaze. "Who are you?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
He smiled, and my heart skipped a beat. "I'm someone who's been searching for you," he said, his voice low and husky.
I felt a shiver run down my spine as he reached out and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. It was a gentle touch, but it sent shivers down my spine.
"I've been searching for you for a long time," he continued, his eyes locked on mine. "I didn't know what you looked like or where you were, but I knew I'd find you eventually."
I felt a sense of wonder at his words. How could he have been searching for me? Does he know that we are mate? But he didn't seem like a wolf We'd never met before, and I was sure I'd never seen him around the pack's territory. "What do you mean?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.
He smiled again, and I felt my heart flutter. "I just knew that I had to find you," he said. "I had to meet you here today. I'm glad I came"
I felt a pang of uncertainty at his words. I didn't know what to make of him, or why I felt this connection to him. "I don't understand," I said, looking away. "Why were you searching for me?"
He took a step closer to me, his eyes never leaving mine. "I just knew that I had to find you," he repeated. "And now that I have, I don't want to let you go."
"Tell me more about yourself," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
He smiled, and I felt my heart skip a beat. "My name is Kael," he said. "And I'm glad I finally found you."
As I stood there, gazing into Kael's eyes, I felt a sense of warmth spread through my body. Despite my initial assumption that he was human, I couldn't help but feel drawn to him. There was something about him that made me feel at ease, something that made me want to be around him. "I'm Lyra. It's nice to meet you"
