Chapter 1 Divorce

Electra POV

"Are you really leaving me? I thought our love was special," I asked, my voice shaking with shock and sadness. My husband had just sent me divorce papers and I was struggling to come to terms with it.

"I don't want to talk about it, Electra. I'm done with our marriage. You're not the one for me. I thought you'd bring excitement to my life, but you haven't. I'm done," Knoxville said coldly over the phone.

I felt a lump form in my throat as tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. "But what about all those promises you made? You said I was the one you wanted to share everything with. What happened to those words?" I asked, my voice cracking with emotion.

I couldn't hold back my tears anymore, and they began to flow down my cheeks. My heart felt heavy with pain and sadness. I was losing the man I loved, and I didn't know how to stop it.

"Electra, those tears aren't working for me anymore. I want to move on. I think I wasn't in my right mind when I made those promises to you. It's over now. Just sign the divorce papers and leave. I don't want any more complications. You should leave before I get back home," Knoxville said, his words piercing my heart like a dagger.

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut, my breath knocked out of me. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "I thought he loved me," I whispered, tears streaming down my face. "What happened to what we shared?"

I got up and walked to the mirror, staring at my reflection. I saw a broken, tear-stained face staring back at me. But then I realized, there's more to me than crying over a man. I was foolish to run away from home, blinded by love and naivety, and marry Knoxville after only two weeks of dating.

I took a deep breath, wiped away my tears, and made a decision. I wouldn't let Knoxville's rejection define me. I would move on, find myself, and discover what I truly wanted in life.

I took divorce papers and signed it. I bit my lowers lips wondering why this idiot wanted to divorce me. What was I even saying he already divorce me and he's my ex's now.

With a sense of determination and a hint of sadness, I finished packing my bags and booked a ride. As I loaded my luggage into the truck with the driver's help, I took a final glance around the house, ensuring nothing was left behind. My eyes lingered on the familiar walls, memories flashing through my mind.

"You'll regret leaving me," I whispered, shaking my head in disbelief. "How can you divorce me, Knoxville? I'm Electra, your everything...your spec, your shine, your spark."

My voice trailed off as I gazed at the house, now a symbol of a love that had soured. I took a deep breath, pulled myself together, and slid into the taxi. As we drove away, the house disappeared from view, marking the end of a chapter in my life. The taxi's wheels hummed on the pavement, echoing the uncertainty and excitement that lay ahead. I closed my eyes, ready to embrace the unknown and start anew.

I was lost in thought, replaying the events that had led me to this moment, until the driver's voice broke the silence. "Hey madam, we've arrived at your location." I gazed out the window in disbelief, my eyes fixed on the familiar facade of my childhood home. The house I had left behind in haste, defying my family's wishes to marry a man I barely knew.

A mix of emotions swirled within me as I realized I was back where I started, my tail between my legs. The driver's voice snapped me back to reality.

"Thanks so much for the ride," I said, handing him the fare and gesturing for him to keep the change. He smiled and thanked me, but I just scoffed, feeling a sense of defeat wash over me.

"I'll get my bags," I muttered, grabbing my luggage and stepping out into the London rain, the cold droplets mirroring the chill in my heart. I stepped into the big compound, and he securities around quickly bow has they saw me. "You're back young mistress" they said, and I smiled.

I stepped into the grand compound, and the securities immediately bowed as they recognized me. "You're back, young mistress," they said in unison, their faces filled with familiarity and respect. I smiled, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over me.

As I dropped my bags, they quickly sprang into action, knowing exactly what to do. My personal maid, Kath, rushed towards me with an umbrella, her face beaming with a warm smile. "You're welcome, ma'am. I missed you. Your parents will be happy to have you back," she said, her eyes sparkling with genuine affection.

I chuckled, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity as I made my way into the house, my heels echoing through the opulent halls. The grand chandelier above flickered, casting a warm glow over the scene, as if welcoming me home. The familiar scent of fresh flowers and polished wood enveloped me, transporting me back to a time when life was simpler, eventhough i live in luxurious.

As I entered the lavish living room, I was enveloped in the warm glow of opulence, the scent of wealth and sophistication hanging heavy in the air. My father's warm smile welcomed me back home, but my mother's stern expression made my heart skip a beat. I felt lost, unsure of what to do, but instinctively, I gravitated towards the one person who had always been a constant in my life - my father, Richardson Scofield.

"Hey, Dad," I said, walking towards him, and he stood up, opening his arms to embrace me. But before we could fully connect, my mother's harsh words cut through the air, making me pause.

"Have you come to visit us after a year of running away from home? Go back to your husband's house. You're not needed in my house," Mrs. Scofield's voice was cold, her eyes flashing with disapproval.
