Chapter 1 A plot against the Luna

Lyla's pov

I sat in the sterile exam room, my fingers twisting the hem of my shirt as I waited. The door opened and the doctor, who happened to be my childhood friend, entered, a slight smile on her face.

"Lyla," she began, her voice gentle,

"I have some news for you. Your test results are out, and they're positive. You're pregnant." She adjusted her hair before sitting down with me, her smile growing like wildfire.

For a moment, the world seemed to stop. My breath caught in my throat, my eyes widening in disbelief.

"Are... are you sure?" I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper.

She nodded, her smile growing. "Yes, I'm sure. Congratulations."

A tidal wave of emotion washed over me. Joy erupted from my body, bringing with it a burst of laughter that swiftly melted into tears. After years of disappointment, calendars marked with hopeful dates. After tears of procedures and treatments - it was happening. Finally!

My hands flew to my mouth, then to my still-flat stomach. A mix of disbelief and excitement crashed over me. After so long, could this really be happening?

As the doctor continued speaking, outlining the next steps and early pregnancy care, I found myself nodding automatically, only half-listening to what she was saying. My mind raced ahead - telling my husband, Alpha Jason, calling my best friend Lucia, I was so excited, I couldn't wait to get home.

Jason and I had been married for years without any children, this was definitely going to make his day. I was sure it would.

I drove off from the hospital and headed straight to Alpha Jason's chamber, I couldn't help but reminisce on the doctor's words.

"We did it, Jason." I whispered, a tremendous smile spreading on my lips. I couldn't wait to tell Jason and I certainly couldn't wait to make his day.

I got to his door and just as I was about to knock, I heard a loud moan from his room and I immediately stayed still, trying to figure out what it was.

"Uurrr," I heard a groan. It sounded like Jason. Was he hurt? I glued my ears to the door. I don't know why I was hesitant to open the door and get in. I sure didn't want to disrespect the alpha.

"Uuuu Rrrr, yes. Alpha Jason, drill into me like my whole life depends on it. Fuck me like your cute little whore." A feminine voice whispered from the room, the voice was very familiar. It was Lucia's voice, Jason's sister.

My best friend.

"Get down and suck my dick, wait. Kiss me!" Jason commanded with a moan.

I stood still, my legs wobbling as I listened to my husband fuck his sister, Lucia. Lucia and I had been friends long before she introduced me to Jason as her brother and I believed her.

He never objected to anything she did in the pack, I was his wife, yet Lucia was always the first to be informed of the activities of the pack; the pack I handed over to him out of love, but I didn't care since she was my best friend. I wasn't interested in ruling the kingdom anyways.

With shaky hands, I opened the door and walked in. Freezing at the sight before me, Jason and Lucia intertwined in the bed, completely naked.

"Jason?" My eyes were cloudy with tears, this can't be happening! Jason? How?! Air left my lungs in a rush, as if I had been punched in my gut.

I watched him tear himself away from Lucia, it was like he had seen a ghost.

"Lyla?" He called out, trying to reach me. I stepped backwards out of fear as I blinked away the tears that were building in my eyes, but it didn't go.

"What the hell is going on here?" I fumed, taking another glance at Lucia.

"Lucia... are you this shameless, having sex with your own blood brother?" My voice trembled. She just sat there, looking at me as though I was crazy.

"My brother?" She smirked.

"Are you always this dumb Lyla?" She continued, laughing mischievously and that made me feel like I was actually dumb.

I looked at my man, his face crumpling in fury. I used to joke about how ugly he looked when angry, but right now, it was no joke. He looked hideous.

"You shut up for a second, Lyla. Just shut up!" He yelled all of a sudden and that startled me.

"Calm down alpha Jason," Lucia said, standing up to rub his back. He actually calmed down.

"You should be more concerned about yourself, Lyla. After shamelessly betraying your pack, you dare claim innocent?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked, my brow raised. The feeling of frustration coursed through my veins.

"...here she goes, trying to play dumb as usual." Lucia added, flipping her dark brown hair backwards. It was as if she owned the world.

"You think no one will find out about your affair with Alpha Lorenzo? I thought you were a saint Lyla, when you're just a pretentious bastard!"

"The video is out Lyla, confess now and we'll minimize your punishment." Lucia said mockingly, I hated the way she kept interrupting me with silly one-line sentences. I hated her guts!

"You two must be out of your minds! What stupid video is she talking about Jason?" I turned to him but he said nothing. My heart was breaking, hot tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Is this how you want to repay me Jason, I took you into my home, gave you my pack and you dare cheat on me so shamelessly? Worse still, you try to accuse me of betraying my pack?! How pathetic can you be?!" I said, my voice low and raw with emotions l

"Accuse you?" His face, a mix of shock and excitement as he reached out for his phone.

"Is this not you Lyla? Deny it!" He said seriously. I slowly stared at the screen. Surprisingly, it was a sex tape of Alpha Lorenzo and I. How is that possible? I had never seen Alpha Lorenzo since my last birthday celebration when we invited him to the pack.

And I certainly never had anything to do with him, I barely saw him in the ceremony. How the hell am I in this video completely naked and in his arms?! As I watched in awe, Jason received a text message from an unknown number, it read,

"The video has been sent out, it was edited by our top graphic designers, no one will ever find out." My eyes widened as I read it out loud.

Jason was shocked, he immediately withdrew his phone from my face.

"So you framed me up, Jason? So you planned this?" I choked out, gasps escaping with every word I said. I was in so much pain, my heart was bleeding. All I did was love him, how could he do this to me? Tears wailed down my cheeks, slightly drenching the pregnancy test results that were in my hand.

Jason's confidence facade flickered for a moment, I watched him as the realization dawned on him - he was caught. For a moment, silence reigned over him. Then surprisingly, a slow smile spread across his face. He stood up from the bed, all pretense of innocence evaporating.

"Now...now that you've found out, you should as well know about this too." He continued, adjusting himself before he glanced at Lucia and she smiled.

"Lucia is not my sister, she's my lover." He ran his hands through her hair before gently kissing her lips.

"The moment we heard about your late father's wish of making you Luna after his death, we kick started our first mission. Make Lucia your friend, then she'll introduce me to you as her brother and I'll make you fall in love with me." He smiled sarcastically.

"You're so naive and dumb Lyla, how can someone like you rule over a pack?" Lucia spat on my face, hearing those words from her tore my heart into a million pieces, she was my friend.

My best friend.

"Have you ever thought of your father's death? How did a strong man suddenly become sick and die within three days?" He turned to Lucia and they both laughed.

"You see, Lyla..." he continued when we heard a knock on the door.
