Chapter 4 Victor's Threats and Kingdom Traitor

Asher is frustrated with his father's rejection of Ember. The rejection was like a piercing in his heart. He wrapped his arms tightly around Ember.

"I'm sorry," he whispered.

"It's not your fault, Asher. I knew this would happen," Ember replied.

Asher spoke with determination.

"I won't give up on us. I'll find a way."

The ultimatum his father declared gave him sleepless nights. It weighed heavily on his shoulders. His duty as the future alpha and his love for Ember conflicted within him.

As they both decided to take a stroll in the forest, holding each other's hands, they stumbled upon a figure lurking in the shadows who had been watching them.

Victor, a rogue werewolf, came out of the shadows with no signs on his face.

"I see the next in line is torn in a loophole," he mocked.

"What are you doing here, Victor? Why so hostile towards me, brother?" Asher asked.

"Don't call me that," Victor snapped.

"Why am I now a rogue?" Victor laughed.

Won't you introduce me to this beautiful she-wolf?" Victor asked, his eyes fixed on Ember.

Ember watched as these two grown wolves exchanged words.

"I wonder what their fallout could be all about, and why did he become wild?" Ember thought.

"Don't you dare touch her with your filthy hands," Asher growled.

"Oh, he's quite protective; I smell her all over you," Victor teased.

"Ouu, I see Prince Asher didn't waste any time mating with her, but he can't be with her," Victor mocked.

"Well, I came for you, beautiful. They will all betray you, even your mate will also. Join me, so we can rule Leavenworth forever."

Asher's grip on Ember's hand tightened.

"Don't listen to him," Asher warned.

Ember faced Victor.

"I'll never join forces with you," Ember declared.

"You'll soon enough," Victor said, looking at Asher with hatred.

"Your time is ticking, brother. I'll take everything away from you, and you'll be left with nothing."

His voice echoed through the forest.

"We'll see again, beautiful."

Then he disappeared into thin air.

Ember's senses were on high alert, her instincts warning her about Victor and his offer.

As they returned to the pack's headquarters, Ember comforted Asher.

"Don't listen to him, please. I'll forever be yours. We need to tell Caleb about Victor."

"I'll handle it," Asher replied.

"No, Asher. We're in this together."

They both went to meet Caleb, Asher's beta, in his cottage.

Asher told Caleb about their encounter with Victor and his offer to Ember.

Caleb's face darkened with hate.

"What a monster! He hasn't changed at all. He's still cunning and wanting what isn't his. But why does he want your mate, or is there something he knows about her that we don't?"

"I don't think he has any valid reason for wanting me, Caleb. I'm sure he just did that to get under Asher's skin."

"We can't be so sure," Asher said.

"My love, there must be something, and Father is delaying my union with you. I don't trust that rogue werewolf. We've got to act fast."

Caleb locked eyes with Asher.

"We'll find a way together."

"I've got your back, brother. You're not alone."

The three wolves joined forces to uncover secrets and fight the battle ahead.

But unknown to them, Victor's plan for them wasn't just about the throne but something more vicious.

As he watched their every move from the shadows, he held the pack's deepest secret, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

A girl wearing a hooded coat walked into the forest in the middle of the night.

She met with someone hiding in the shadows.

"Hi, Victor. Finally, Lila Shadowglow is here."

"Welcome, princess."

"Stop with the formalities, Victor."

"You were supposed to report back two days ago. Where have you been?" Victor asked.

"I'm sorry. I didn't have the chance, and I don't want to blow my cover."

"You know I'm trying to earn Asher's trust. The king trusts me already, and doing anything irrational now will make them suspicious."

"Hmm, okay."

"You know I despise the Blackwoods just as much as you do. It'll be an insult to their faces if they ever find out we're siblings, and you're actually a prince of the Darkhaven Pack."

"I've got a plan, brother."

"Ouu, I always love your plans, Lila. Spill."

"Let's use her zeal in wanting to find out the truth about who she really is against her."

"So, how do we do that?" Lila asked.

"You'll send her a note, saying you know things about her and that will lure her to you. Then you put her in a romantic situation that's where I will strike.

I'll make sure Asher sees everything and thinks his darling mate betrayed him and that's where I come in by being his confronter.

Victor grinned from mouth to ear. "Brilliant idea". You see why you're the best, you're so evil. She laughed at Victor's remarks.

The night ended with the evil siblings hatching their evil plans against Asher and his family.
