~ISABELLA'S POV"

"You're sorry? You're sorry? Sorry isn't going to give me back my soul after you ripped it out of my body the day you rejected me. Sorry isn't going to reflect all the many ways in which you broke my heart after you chose my brother over me. Sorry isn't going to restore the broken friendship between us. Sorry isn't going to erase the humiliation I feel everytime walk through the streets of the pack after you made a fool out of me!!"

"Adrian, I..."

"I don't want to hear anything from you!"

"Adrian, please."

"You broke me, Isabella. I gave you everything I had and you took it for granted."

Heavy, ragged pants fell from his lips and a single tear fell from his eye. My heart shattered into millions of pieces and a matching tear ran down my cheek.

"I begged you to accept me, Isabella. I begged you to let me have a place in your heart, but you pushed me away. How do you expect me to forget that?"

"I'm sorry," my broken voice echoed against the trees of the forest and a string of tears ran down my face as I stared into his anger filled eyes.

"Sorry wouldn't make us go back to the way we were."

~~~
The moon was high in the sky and the creatures of the night made noises of pleasure as I walked home with my heels in my hands and Adrian by my side.
My eyes were swollen from the amount of crying I've done and my shoulders were slouched in defeat.
I spent hours with Adrian in the forest, begging him to take me back. To be my friend again.
But it was all to no avail.
I turned my head and stared at the face of Adrian. His jaw was clenched so hard that I feared his teeth might shatter under the force. The tension between us was so thick an ax couldn't cut through it and his red eyes were trained on the path before us, not once stealing a glance at me. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement and the back of my eyes brimmed with unshed tears.
I didn't know we were at my house till Adrian pinched my arm and pointed to the door. My stomach dropped at the thought of facing my family after running away from my own wedding.
I turned to Adrian then turned to the door again and a sigh of resignation left my lips as I swung the door open and walked through it, not bothering to look back at the man that walked me home, fearing that he may have only been the work of my imagination.
I walked towards the flight of stairs that led to my room with quickened steps.
"Isabella? Isabella, is that you?"
I ignored my mother's voice and continued walking up the flight of stairs, desperate to get to my room before the tsunami of emotions I'm holding breaks free and consumes I and those around me.
I shut the door to my room behind me and sank to my knees with a thud. Pain flashed through my legs but no amount of physical pain is enough to overthrone the emotional anguish I'm going through.
I lost him.
A string of tears fell from my eyes and heavy sobs left my lips as I remembered the pain–filled words he spoke to me.
I sobbed into the fabric of my wedding dress and a surge of anger ran through me and I tore the dress off my body. What was once a beautiful dress has been reduced to scraps of fabric and stones as a scream left my lips.
"Are you okay?"
"Leave me alone."
"But, Bella..."
"Just leave me alone," I whispered like a broken doll, hoping that they would obey my wish and leave me be. A sigh of relief left my lips when the sound of retreating footsteps reached my ears.
I ran my hands down the length of my body and stopped when my fingers slid over an unfamiliar scar on the top of my abdomen. It felt like a wound which could only be made by a knife.
Where the hell did I get this?
And then the realization hit me.
This was the same place Brenda stabbed me in my past life. I may have been reborn but it doesn't change the fact that it happened. It doesn't change the fact that the consequences for making the mistakes I made during my past life. It doesn't change the fact I lost my baby. It doesn't change the fact that I've lost Adrian.
And another sob left my lips.
~ADRIAN'S POV~
Her soft snores reached my ears as I stood by her side as she slept on the cool floor of her bedroom.
The pieces of her tattered wedding dress littered the floor and a smile left my lips at the sight. But that pang of happiness disappeared when I saw the sight of her tear–stained face.
The memory of her pain–filled eyes flooded my senses and my broken heart shattered to millions of pieces and I stretched my hand towards her, desperate to feel the sparks that come with touching her skin. But my hand stopped mid–action and my fingers were so close I could feel the warmth that radiated off her.
I can't touch her. I wouldn't touch her. Not after everything she's put me through. Not after having spent years of my life wishing, hoping, begging her to accept my unhinged form of love only for her to push me away in the cruelest way.
I ran my hands over my lips. The feel of her lips against mine had forever been engraved into my mind and my wolf howled with joy as excitement hit me at the thought of the kiss we shared.
My first kiss.
I waited for her. I waited for her even before I knew she was my mate. The thought of being with a woman that wasn't her appalled me. I was willing to wait for her till the moon goddess killed every star in the sky.
But she didn't think the same way. She chose Jack over me. She mocked me for not being enough for her. She called me a devil, the one nickname I've hated my entire life.
She broke me.
I stood to my full height and turned to go out the window, when a sound so subtle filled the air.
It was a whimper. A pain-filled whimper.
I turned to Isabella and watched a single tear fall from her closed eyes and my shattered heart broke further.
I can't leave her like this.
I walked towards her and wrapped one arm around her thighs and the other around her shoulders and picked her up like the princess she is. Pieces of that accursed wedding dress that covered her fell to the floor and her beautiful body was left bare and exposed for all to see.
And by all I mean me.
My breath hitched in my through as my unworthy eyes took in her porcelain skin and all the blood in my body rushed to my manhood. I shook my head trying to clear all the dirty thoughts running through my head as I walked to her bed and gently placed her on the mattress and covered her body with the duvet.
I brushed a strand of hair off her face and walked towards the window and jumped out of it. I landed on my feet and shifted into my wolf before sprinting into the forest.
I still love her. I will always love her. But I can't forgive her for what she did to me.
