Chapter 4 Threat

The next day at school students are happy about the competition, Ralph sit alone at the back of the class.

kate walks to him, why did you come to school? are you not supposed to be with Max since you always follow him around like a dog.

Ralph stands up angrily, kick the chair to the ground.

Kate stand still watching him throw tantrum, pick up his bag and leave the class bump into Emily at the entrance of the class, she ask him to apologies but walks away not given a darn.

Josephina laughs, whisper to Ami, serves her right.

Emily stands in front of the class, we've been assign a task to represent each game, everyone move out practice start now, she announce.

On the field each class has start practicing, James stand beside Josephina, what game do you want to play?

She points to a box on the table, that box will determine the game we play.

ere is Ami?, she's nowhere to be seen, he ask Josephina.

I don't know she left in a hurry earlier.

Ami run to the hilltop heavily tired, you can't be ordering me around, why did you text me to meet you? threatening you will inform everyone that I broke your hand.

Then why are you here?, are you scared everyone will blame you for breaking my hand?, I have to overview the whole process of the competition as the school president but I can't do it with just one hand, since it your fault I ended up with a cast on my hand you will be my

second hand through out the competition.

Ami exasperate, how will I participate in the competition if I become your hand?

You caused it so you have to take responsibility for your action, if the students find out that you broke my hand how do you think they will react?

Ami concede, I will assist you during the competition but you have to promise not to tell anyone.

He smiles at her, you have my word, I will not tell anyone as long as you stay by my side.

They walk to the field together Ami stay a bit further away from him because of the student staring at them.

Anitha stare at them, why are they coming together?, what is going on?.

Emily snap at her, how would I know, coming together is nothing it a stupid coincidence.

Kate wave at Ami to join them, she waved back indicating that she has to stay where she is, she stands beside Michael while he ask each class

president to take a box from the table.

Each class president stands in the mist of the students, Kate pull out a piece of paper, Josephina shout out, marathon.

James push Josephina forward, others are waiting pick yours and leave.

pull out a paper, james peep at it, you are in the medical team that suit you better since you can't do anything with your heavy body", the

other student laughs mocking her".

James step forward smirk at Josephina, pull out a paper with confidence.

Josephina snatch it from him, you are in the race, he collect it back from her, yes waving the piece of paper on her face whistling.

Ami ask Michael gently, can I join the game?

He whisper to her ear, you can join the game but you have to come whenever I need you.

She didn't wait for Michael to finish his sentence, run to pick a paper, am in the race, she smiles jumping.

The next day they've taken their position on the field practicing, james sweating profusely goes to the table to take water stop by Josephina,

she collect the water from him, you have to pay for it.

Why do I have to pay for what is free?

Eve pick a bottle of water from the table and walk away.

James speaks angrily, you don't collect money from other student, why me?

She reply sarcastically, Because I say so.

He grab the water from the table run as fast as he can, Josephina chase after him running round the field.

Kate looking around the field for Ami, James bump into her falling on the ground with the water.

Ami enter the store room with Michael, bring the balls down Michael says pointing up.

Ami look up, how do I get it down?, I can't reach it, you do it yourself.

I will have done it myself if not for my broken hand.

Ami flabbergast at his behavior, she climb the ladder throw down the balls to Michael the balls drop rolling out of the store room, Ami exclaim, you could have catch the balls, why did you let it roll out?

I can't catch many balls with one hand, I need my two hands to do that.

She climb down picking the balls into the basket, Michael push the basket while she pick the balls, after they are done picking the balls, he let go of the basket.

Ami place her hands on her waist breathing heavily, she quietly push the basket to the field.

she sneak away while Michael is distracted, she sit on the floor grab the water in front of James gulp it down.

James shout, that my water.

Josephina laughs, that's the end for you.

what is going on between you and Michael?, Kate ask her.

Josephina cut in, you've been running at his beck, is he bullying you? If he is I will teach him a lesson.

Michael doesn't bully student, Kate defend him.

what am I saying?, Michael does not treat students badly, Josephina slap herself, I shouldn't speak bad of him.

Ami sit down quietly not giving them a response.

You left your position to gossip, Anitha says glaring at Josephina with her hand cross on her chest.

Am not a gossiper like you and no student is hurt.

You have to maintain your position as a medical assistance not wondering around, we are a team we need to stay together to provide first aid to any injured student.

Josephina exclaim and follow her back to the tent.

Ami is happy that she escape their question about Michael, she join her team to practice for the race, a figure block her track path stopping her from the race.

She get angry to see Michael standing in front of her , yell out, what do you want from me? I have to practice for tomorrow competition,"

other student watching them".

Emily freak out, throw the medicine box in her hand on the floor, why are they always together?.

Calm down, it a coincidence, Anitha respond.

She glare at Anitha furiously, she is getting on my nerve I have to do something.

Ami ask Kate to drop her at home, my car broke down and it getting late.

On their way, Josephina sit in the back sit glaring at Ami through the mirror.

She avoid eye contact with her by looking outside the window.

Out with it, Josephina says.
