Chapter 4 She is our mate!

Maximillian's Cruz POV

I need to find a way to make Veronica stop coming when I'm at the office. She is my personal assistant, so personal that I know her perfectly both outside and inside her body.

I pay her well and she keeps her mouth shut and her legs open, and that's it. Love without obligations. She is one of my pack members, not too smart but good looking.

For the goddess sake! I am almost in my 30's, mateless, rich and good looking. What should I do ? To become a monk?

She just left after she took more than an hour from my time and now I hear her screaming from the lobby.

"Stark, I will fire her! I can't stand her voice anymore "I say to my wolf.

"I can't stand her at all and you know it. She is too low for my taste, "said Stark with a growl.

"Don't be a princess, Stark! You were moaning a few moments ago "and I opened the door only to find a commotion right in front of me.

A woman who is with her back on me, almost beats Veronica. But I really don't care, what I care is that Stark yells something in my head and I am too shocked to contradict him.

"Mate!" I hear him saying.

Mate? She is my mate? I look at her carefully and it doesn't take me even two seconds to realize she's human.

"She's not our mate, Stark, She's human" I tell him without moving and looking at her as she almost breaks Veronica's hand.

"She is ours. She is our mate and if you will not accept the fact, I will force you to accept her and I will imprint myself on her! " yells Stark.

"Smell her! She is our mate! " he kept saying.

And she really smells divine, like strawberries and vanilla.

Smelling her, I look at her once more and try to make my presence felt.

"What is going on?" I ask but she looks at Veronica who is still blabbering about spying us.

"Maxi! She almost broke my arm!" yells Veronica and looks at me with pleading eyes to save her.

"What the fuck man? She is a werewolf and she is beaten by our human mate? Stark asks furious. "How can Veronica be so weak?'

But I don't have time to think about anything else because I immediately I hear her the voice that anoints my soul:

"Because she tried to slap me for no reason!" says the woman still without looking at me.

"Because she stayed and spied on us, Maxi!" Veronica yelled.

"Max, make her shut the fuck up or I will beat her!" Stark said, completely annoyed.

But suddenly the woman who seems to be my mate takes the lead and turning to me says:

"I DID NOT!" she says bluntly and she looks at me in shock as if she saw a ghost.

"Who are you?" I ask her, looking at her perplexed.

She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She must be somewhere at 5.9 feet. And she is dressed decent in a beautiful light mint green midi dress that highlights her perfect figure. She is not voluptuous but her shapes are perfect. She is gorgeous. I didn't know that women wearing Louboutin shoes are so sexy.

Her brown hair is slightly wavy and falls from her shoulders to the waist, but at the moment I can't take my eyes off her. Her blue eyes are so clear that I lose focus looking at her, and her mouth is so plumy that I feel the need to kiss her. On her little nose I can see a few pickles.

She is like a living doll, and looking at her and at my reaction I realized that she is really my mate.

"We found her, Max. You found our mate "Stark is howling in my head.

And I just can't concentrate anymore. I immediately send Veronica and signal her to enter the office, but I take only a few steps and surprise: she's not moving.

"Are you deaf?" I ask her, completely annoyed. I'm an alpha and I'm used to it happening when I say something.

This is like messing with people! They are temperamental, they don't have that respect for an alpha.

But just when I thought I made her follow me, the lightning struck me.

"Is it safe to enter this office?" she asks me "Surely I don't get any sexually transmitted diseases?"

And immediately I felt my blood boiling in my veins and heard Stark growl.

"Get in the office now!"

I signal her to come in only to see her very skeptical as if intentionally trying to annoy me and she just looks around in disgust.

"Where can I stay? "She asks me. "Are you sure that I will not get some....?"

"Sit on the chair now!" I say to her and she is not even blinking while I yell at her.

Calm down, Maximillian. I say to myself. She is your mate but she doesn't know about it, She is human and she is not feeling your struggle. calm down!

I look at her as she looks into my eyes and she doesn't sketch anything. I open her CV and immediately tell her :

"Meredith Quinn..." This name sound familiar " Did we meet before?"

"No, Mr. Cruz, but you pay for my studies in Paris, MaxLine offered me a scholarship, That's probably why my name is known to you," she tells me immediately.

I had nothing to do with those scholarships that my father offered as facilities for students. The strange thing is that I really feel that I met her before.

"You would have known if you had met such a beautiful girl, Max. " Stark said" You know what? Just shut up and woo her."

"What do you do besides listening to people's door.?" I ask her arrogantly just to annoy her as she annoyed me earlier.

"Today, for example, I intend to quit from MaxLine Design!" she says and immediately gets to her feet and walks to the door without looking at me.

What is she talking about?

"Catch her!" Stark yells and almost transforms but I manage to control him and catch her before she comes out from my office and I hold her in my arms.

"What are you doing, Mr. Cruz?" she asks in a harsh tone while I pin her to the door.

"You can't quit," I say growling.

"I don't want to be here anymore!" she said pursing her lips.

Fuck! I want to kiss her!

"If you choose to leave MaxLines you must pay the scholarship back and also some compensation. In two days! " I say desperately inventing an excuse to force her to stay.

"I can't work with a perv that is having sex in his office while his employee are working. I really need to get out from here!" said the woman, I mean Meredith...my mate.

But right now I think that I suddenly become stupid, because I ask her.

"Are you jealous?"

"Do you say that I must pay all the money in two days?" she asks me, changing the subject and making my heart stop. Does she intend to give me my money back and just leave?

"Yes. Five million dollars, in two days. " I tell her, grinning.

She looks at me while I cling to her body and continue to hold her in my arms, but hearing what I said she yells in shock lifting her knee and hitting me directly in my groin, making me bruise in pain .

"Five million dollars !!! Are you nuts Mr. Cruz? "

But I can't say anything. She broke my balls.
