Chapter 4 Findinglove.com

Julia's highly anticipated trip to New York was supposed to be the highlight of her year. However, things didn't start as planned. Due to a flight delay, she found herself stuck at the airport until almost midnight, waiting for her friend Tracy to pick her up. Exhausted, she promptly fell asleep after they arrived at Tracy's apartment.

The following day, Julia slept in and missed Tracy, who had already left for work. In the kitchen, Julia discovered a note from Tracy informing her about food in the fridge. Making breakfast for herself, she relished the newfound independence, albeit still wrestling with residual feelings for Ethan.

Choosing to distract herself, Julia immersed herself in a novel until Tracy returned from work. Their ensuing conversation addressed lingering topics that had been weighing on Julia's mind.

"I'm deeply sorry to hear about what happened with you and Ethan. I had such high hopes for your relationship, thinking it would lead to marriage. I guess I was mistaken," Tracy said, with genuine concern in her voice.

"I was wrong, too," Julia replied. "I feel like the biggest fool of all." Tears welled up in her eyes once again.

"Come on, remember when you told me you were over him? What's this all about?" Tracy asked, moving closer to comfort her friend.

After Julia had collected herself, it was time to have a heartfelt conversation about what comes next. Tracy, being engaged, spent most of her time at her fiancé's place, leaving Julia with the house to herself.

"I'm really grateful for your hospitality," Julia expressed.

Tracy pondered the age-old question, "What are friends for?" and her response was both touching and heartwarming.

As time passed, Julia began attending school and even formed new friendships. Although Julia was older than her new friends, they still embraced her as one of their own. Despite not having to spend much on food, Julia's generosity knew no bounds as she always shared her meals with her friends.

When Logan unexpectedly showed up at her doorstep, Julia couldn't help but feel a rush of shock and excitement. She was taken aback by his youthful appearance; he didn't look anything like his age.

"I hope you don't mind the surprise visit. Your brother wouldn't stop bugging me to check out your new place," Logan explained. His voice exuded confidence and strength, a far cry from what Sarah remembered.

Despite the unexpected visit, Sarah couldn't help but chuckle. "You could have at least given me a heads-up, but come on in."

Logan looked around and remarked, "You've really grown up and seem to be living your best life." However, Julia couldn't help but disagree.

"I'm a woman now, not a girl," Julia said firmly, beckoning him inside. As they settled in, their conversation covered various topics, carefully avoiding any mention of Julia's recent breakup with a man she had once fiercely defended. Julia knew that Sebastian, their mutual acquaintance, likely divulged all the details to Logan. Despite this, Logan, known for his composed demeanor, tactfully avoided broaching the subject.

"You can visit me anytime you want," Logan offered, sharing his home address. "Let me know whenever you need my help, and I'll do whatever I can to support you."

Julia felt a surge of happiness even after Logan departed. It was truly heartwarming to be reunited with someone she considered family. In the months that followed, Julia experienced more joy than sorrow. Her friend Tracy playfully teased her about her prolonged single status, suggesting that she try out dating websites since traditional dating had not been successful for her.

"Have you thought about giving findlove.com a try? They have some amazing men on there," Tracy suggested.

Curious, I asked, "How do you know that?"

As I hurriedly washed the dinner dishes, Tracy replied with a knowing smile, "Let's just say I've had a few experiences with it."

I raised an eyebrow, prompting Tracy to confess, "Five times. Well, maybe six or more."

I was taken aback, asking, "And you actually enjoyed it?"

Tracy hesitated, replying, "It worked out well a couple of times."

"Did you actually meet someone like Mason on one of those blind dates?" I inquired.

With a simple "no," Tracy left me puzzled.

Perplexed, I questioned Tracy's recommendation, asking, "Why are you encouraging me to try this?" I stood with my hand on my hip, awaiting her response.
