Chapter 3 Chapter 2 Failed Negotiation PART 1

The atmosphere suddenly froze. Benedict's attitude was exactly as Cordelia had expected. Her delicate face was full of grievances, and she suddenly hugged the man's arm, saying, "You didn't say that last night in bed."

Benedict narrowed his eyes, staring at the woman leaning on his arm. What tricks did she want to play? He casually pushed her away.

Archibald, sitting on the side, stood up abruptly. "Benedict, who taught you to be irresponsible? I don't care! Cordelia is my future granddaughter-in-law."

"Cordelia, don't be afraid. Whatever happens, I'll support you," Archibald added unexpectedly.

Cordelia was quite surprised. Archibald actually favored her so much.

She raised her clear eyes, suspicious. 'Could it be that Benedict has some health issues, and that's why he's in a hurry to get married?'

Archibald pulled Benedict outside, warning. "Don't forget what you promised me. On the day of your wedding, I'll give you the information you want. If you anger me, you'll never see her again!"

This was a condition agreed upon from the beginning.

Benedict squinted his cold eyes, his handsome face showing a hint of chill as he contemplated. He hadn't settled his score to the woman humiliating him, and now she came willingly. He wondered how long she could hold on!

"Fine, I'll keep my word."

Cordelia sat on the sofa, sipping high-quality coffee, feeling uneasy.

If she really married Benedict, he might be planning to take revenge.

But for now, she had no choice. Her mother left her an inheritance that required her to marry Benedict. After three months together, she could access the inheritance.

Cordelia wondered, 'It's just three months. Endure it, get the money, and then I will be free.'

Archibald returned to the room, saying with a smile, "The engagement is settled. Cordelia, you'll move to the Radcliffe family today. It's good for you to get used to each other before planning the wedding."

Vincent was worried and was about to speak when Cordelia said, "Sure, today is a good day. We will go get our marriage license. Mr. Archibald, what do you think?"

Archibald was more than happy and quickly called for the necessary documents.

Celeste sarcastically remarked, "You just met, and you're getting married already. Isn't it too hasty? Only those who can't find a partner do this."

Cordelia, hands on her waist, raised an eyebrow. "The right person won't think it's hasty. The wrong person, no matter how long they have been together, will never be right."

Celeste's face darkened, unwilling to see Cordelia marry a wealthy man. She turned and went upstairs. Eleanor, who never liked her stepdaughter, hurried to comfort her biological daughter.

Only Cordelia's father, Vincent, accompanied her to the door. "Cordelia, take care of yourself. If someone bullies you, tell me immediately, and I'll bring you back."

Cordelia looked up, exchanging a meaningful glance with her father. "Dad, don't worry."

She opened the car door, and the cold figure inside emitted a chilly aura. Cordelia wanted Archibald to sit in the middle to shield her from the cold.

"Sit inside, Cordelia. I haven't gotten in yet," Archibald said with a smile.

Cordelia had no choice but to get in, moving closer to Benedict's side, catching a faint woody scent.

It was the scent of a mature man.

On the way, Benedict stared at the woman's delicate smiling face beside him, coldly saying, "I have something to attend to today, so we won't get the license. Let her move in first."

Cordelia was surprised. Was he planning to make things difficult for her?

She didn't want to walk into a lion's den.

"If you're busy, we can set another time. I can go back to the dorm today." Cordelia suggested.

Benedict squinted his cold eyes, his handsome face approaching hers. "Aren't you eager to marry me? Why don't you dare live with me?"
