Chapter 5

For a moment, I couldn't blink but stare at his eyes that held no emotion whatsoever. He was done with talking and no sort of Hullabaloo would make him retract his words.

Lee growled within in fury, the thought that we'd be staying in a house close to Felix was something draining and heartbreaking.

I should try to forget about him, move on from what happened, and focus on the bright side of life but fate has a different plan for me.

The hot tears on my cheeks fell helplessly and I wiped it off with anger, taking a step away from him before turning to leave.

"My driver will drop you off and–"

"I'm fine!" I snapped at him and he rolled his tongue all over his teeth as if to suppress his anger and continued.

"....And send my designer to meet you immediately, we won't have the time to waste so cooperate peacefully and we'll be good." He said and I didn't reply to him but walked out of the room and I never took a glimpse.

My resolve broke into shreds as I saw Felix, all warm, sweet, and expressing this bright charisma I've always thought him to be. His auburn wavy hair was like the perfect features needed for his beautiful eyes and his muscles reflexing through the fabric he wore was going to make him a snack.

A snack I felt for, and this same snack that destroyed me by cutting my life open to the world to see.

I thought we were both fated, everything was too perfect and I claimed him as my mate. I was proud of having someone from Midnight Shade Pack who would make the world stop to listen to me and make me walk on clouds.

"Stupid!" I muttered under my breath bitterly and took to my heels, not sparing him a glance and a grand Black Audi was already waiting for me at the entrance of the Mansion.

"Hello Ma'am, I'm Fred. I'll take you home today, just give me your bag." The young man said sweetly and bowed and I sighed, knowing I couldn't throw a tantrum. I got into the car and the sweet scently cool air hit my skin as realization sunk in.

Fuck! I'm getting Married to Felix's brother in the same home.

I recalled the images of him banging my best friend and I felt a hot bile raise at the top of my throat.

Why did I love him so much? It was too much that if he came right now to ask for forgiveness, I might stupidly delve in.

That man was my savior. We met during the second year of schooling in college after I'd gone through hell in my first year, facing bullying from coursemates and getting my properties ripped off because I was the Prime Minister's daughter.

I got respect from school authorities but was so bullied by other mates that I couldn't defend myself, I didn't want to date and they saw me as a proud brat, I was a wolf but my scent was off and they called me a rogue. I even went as far as being generous to give but I was called sassy for showing up. What if I never had anything, what if I was poor and wretched, how would my life be but Felix came after me and everything changed? It was like a Lion coming to protect its cub from predators.

Even when I got raped at the school's end-of-the-year party when I had been cornered and ambushed by other pack members, he was there to heal my soul and helped me forget about it. The memories were painful, creating nightmares in my sleep and making me depend on pills for fear of being raped again but all it took was for Felix to be patient with me, spoil me silly for the past four years, and end it one day.

How could he do this to me? I try to push the tinge of pain and emotions swelling through me but it's void. My heart twisted in raw pain and my throat cackled in another load of fresh tears. I love Felix, I still love him and I won't be able to stay under the same roof with him.

No! I won't be able to do that in any way no matter the consequences. My sanity matters a lot to me and if I don't save myself, I might go insane.

' What are we going to do?' Lee whimpered at me, feeling guilty as if she caused all this but I shrugged, she felt my pain.

"I don't know Lee, but I'm not getting myself hooked and stained with the Alpha of Midnight Shade Pack, not with Felix being his brother."

'I won't advise you to do anything out of the box, Lilia, he's dangerous. He wants this wedding and you know we'll be in trouble if he finds out about my secret."

She says, reminding me about my worst fear and my heart flung Into a skittering beat as chills washed down my whole skin to make me shiver.

"I'll protect us Lee, it's exactly why I'm not getting married to him. We might get killed and my father would be extremely disappointed. No! I won't risk it "

"Lilia, he's the Alpha of–"

I cut the mind link instantly and texted Melody to come over with my phone vibrating under my hands. I'll do anything to save my ass and that of Lee, no matter the cost.

"Lex sent me to get your measurements and your shoe size for tomorrow's wedding. I'm Selina"

This must be the designer he was talking about but why am I feeling pissed at her appearance. She was too beautiful and hot, so perfect if that's what I'll call her with her hourglass figure, Milky brown hair that was curled upwards, and her sherry red lipstick gave her the perfect glow on her face.

Her gown was too short and the display of her naked thighs made me cringe.

'I bet Lex must have fucked her too'.

I thought Inwardly as she was way prettier than me in every aspect but I forced a fake smile which was so beautiful and let her do her thing.

"An ivory embellished Lace with a mermaid tail will suit you, you have beautiful skin and I bet you will look so fabulous," She said excitedly but I could see the fakeness in her tone and didn't give off any reaction until she was done.

"Can I have your number?" She asked me with courtesy but my emotions were already all over the page to return that politeness.

"Are we done here?" I asked curtly and she nodded, taking her strap bag to take her leave.

"Lilia?" My mum's warm voice echoed in the room and I went to her. She was dressed in her embroidery flower design nightie and a head wrap on her head as she gave me a sweet hug.

"How did it go?" She asked and I shrugged.

"Great mum, I will be getting married tomorrow and the designer just left. He's a rich ass bastard and I bet it would save Dad " I said with sarcasm dripping in my tone and she sighed.

"I'm sorry, you know I don't want this for you. It's just six months and you'll be back" She said and my eyes welled up in tears as I nodded.

I love her, she's the reason I feel comfortable and relaxed despite all my traumas. It's a love I don't deserve from her and my dad but they gave it to me, hid my secret, and took me as theirs.

"I know Mum" I whispered back and she smiled.

It's just six months of staying in the same mansion with the man I shamelessly slept with and with the brother who destroyed my reputation.

"Dad called the members from White Crisp Pack, they would be attending your wedding tomorrow. Alpha Jax would be present too so make sure to make him proud okay?"

She said and I felt my stomach give a nauseous feeling at the mention of the Pack, I gritted my teeth to yell at my mum to ask her why she would let my dad do something like calling them but I swallowed it all up.

Maybe my decision wasn't bad after all, I'll fucking make them proud.

Bunch of Hypocrites!

They still traced me here despite fleeing from them to seek refuge in New York and on the coast of Midnight Shade. I smiled at her and tried to hide my trembling lips.

"I will mum, I love you."

She smiled at me and hugged me once more before taking me to my room.

"Sleep tight okay," She told me calmly and walked out, while I dialed Melody's number again who picked at one ring.

"Hi, Boss." Her voice sounded gruff and a careless yawn escaped her lips.

"I need your help Melody," I told her and I could feel the alertness of her actions at the other end.
