Chapter 4 Sunday day off 2.

Oh Lord!!" I mutter under my breath.

MARINA!!!!!

After screaming the roof of my head, I calmly pick up the baby. "How we doing Andrei?"

"Ma-ah-ah." He smiles fully, revealing his growing tooth.

So handsome. He definitely looks after me.

"Let's go inside and call you mom shall we?" I can't believe she dumped you in front of my door and ran away.

Marina is my best friend, ever since kindergarten when I attended a rich private school.

When dad hadn't died yet.

But even after everything we still managed to stick together as best friends after I changed schools and until now.

When she found out she was pregnant about a year ago, I was the first to know. Even before the baby's dad.

Unfortunately it didn't really go well when her parents found out. They were both respectful people in their careers *eye roll* and immediately wanted her to abort him.

Of course Marina refused and this lead to her been kicked out of the house.

Thinking about it still makes me mad. How could they kick their only daughter out with her cards frozen and penniless?

They were probably thinking it would make her beg them to take her back.

As if they didn't know how stubborn Marina actually is.

Thankfully things got better and she married Seth and gave birth to the cute Andrei. My godson!!

Setting Andrei on the sofa, I yell from downstairs. "Ana!!"

"What?" I hear a weak reply.

"Can you please get me my phone. It is on my bed?"

There is no reply. A little later, a blue turtle slowly climbs down the stairs.

Her pale white hand stretch out from inside the blanket and hands me my phone. She is about to turn around when she sees Andrei.

Without a care the blanket is tossed on the side as she pounces on his. "Andrei baby."

Holding him in her hands, she turns to look at me. "When did he come?"

"Just now." I resist the urge to roll my eyes, dialing on my best friend.

"I will go make him some baby food." She says walking to the kitchen without waiting for a reply.

I had to call twice before she finally answers the call.

"I am sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry....." A soft voice quickly speaks up from the other side of the phone.

"Don't you think I will fall for that." I seethe. "How many times has it been?"

"I really, really need a day off.." she says in a small voice and I can literally again the pout on her lips. "Just today. Help me this one time bestie."

"What about Seth?" Right now I don't know who the father is anymore. Him or me?

"He went on a business trip on Friday and will be back tomorrow." She states. "It has been just me and him since yesterday."

Massaging my temples, I ask. "Where are you now?"

"Spa." She replies hesitantly.

"Spa?" Lord I will kill this bitch.

"Please, please Vicky. I just need a day off. Just to rest and recharge. Just help me for today."

Huh.....thinking about it, it's not like he is inconveniencing me or anything. And Andrei doesn't cries that much too. "Okay."

"Thank you. Thank you."

The line goes dead, and I snap back to my sense.

"I can't believe I fell for it again. Just like last time." Forget out it.

"Vicky. We have run out of baby food." I hear Ana's voice from the kitchen.

"What? There is nothing left." Because of the frequency at which baby Andrei is dumped at my door we had made sure to have a constant supply of baby food.

"Nothing. It's all finished." She says walking out of the kitchen while shaking the empty can.

"Guess we will have to go to get a new one then." I sigh. But then-"why don't we all go together?"

It will be good to have Ana go out for a walk under the sun. She almost never goes out.

"Okay. I will go grab an umbrella." She says thoughtfully.

"Why?" I ask in confusion.

"For Andrei."

"No need. I am sure he will be fine." I wave off the suggestion.

The convenience store isn't that far from our home, and it only takes a less then ten minutes walk.

While buying the baby food, I also remember to buy some milk. The one at home is almost finished. I add some of Ana's favorite snacks to the cart before heading to the cashier to pay.

After paying, I look around but can't find Ana and Andrei.

I was about to panic when I catch her form behind a shelf of women items.

I instinctively hold back on calling her.

Why is she hiding?

Looking outside the glass wall, I see two girls laughing about something on their phone.

Is it them?

Does she know them?

I don't get to see their face as they immediately walk way.

"What are you looking at?" I hear Ana's voice behind me causing me to turn around.

"Nothing. It is nothing."
