Chapter 5 INTRUDERS

JASMINE POV

Flashback

"I Oliver Blade soon to be alpha, reject you Jasmine Watkins as my mate and Luna"

I was hurt, I felt an excruciating pain in my chest, I felt my wolf in so much anguish I couldn't understand it but this was worse than the pain I got from my limp every day. I saw this coming but I wasn't prepared for the pain I am feeling right now, I tried to speak but I just couldn't my breath hitched and all I could see were black spots before I passed out in front of the whole park.

"How could you do that to her"" It's not right and you knew it, didn't you?" I could hear voices I couldn't make out who the voices belonged to, They were muffled "Oh, please Mother you know I will never accept her...just stop trying to fix what isn't there"

I slowly tore my eyes open but hissed as the lights blinded me and a splitting headache took over, I moaned in pain my throat was parched and I needed water."Hold on honey, let me help you" Luna Lily said helping me with the water I badly needed, with her help I sat up in the bed and gulped the water once without stopping. Once I got myself, I looked around and realized that I was at the park hospital and the only people around were Luna Lily, Oliver, and Doctor Bane Luna Lily and Doctor Bane stared at me with so much concern in their eyes, Oliver looked at me with so much scorn How are you doing love?"Luna Lily asked "I..I.."I couldn't formulate any words.

"Ugh" Oliver heaved out irritated" Just answer the darn question slug" Luna Lily shot him a glare "Behave young man" then she looked back at me, waiting for my reply. I stared at her then Oliver and Doctor Bane" I'm alright, just weak" There was a look of relief on Luna Lily's face and she let out a breath she was holding "Thank you, moon goddess, you had me worried there darling" I smiled, happy that at least one person in the park cares about me "You don't need to return to the park house just yet, rest for a while at least three days then I'll send someone to pick you up okay?"Luna Lily said looking straight at me and waiting for my reply" Tha.. Thank you so much Luna" I replied.

Oliver was upset about the arrangement and just huffed angrily and walked away from the ward, while Luna Lily squeezed my hands before leaving. Doctor Bane who had been silent all this while finally spoke up" Jasmine...how are you truly?' he asked. And I broke down in tears, I just couldn't hold them anymore, I tried to be strong, I tried to do better so that my family, my park, and even my mate could love me even a little bit but, I can't do it.

"....." There were no words to describe how I felt, so I just went on crying my eyes out. I feel Doctor Bane's hands engulf mine while I keep balling my eyes out, he says nothing and allows me to get this off my chest. After a while of crying Doctor Bane releases my hands and with a sad smile tells me "Look, I can't promise that you will be happy here but I can promise that you will be happy...just not here in this park" he says and I am left confused "what do you mean Doctor Bane?" I asked wanting to understand "Hmm...Haven't you ever thought of leaving Jasmine?" There was a wave of silence between us and Doctor Bane stared intently at me waiting for my reply while I stared in shock at his question" Doc..ctor Bane, what are you saying?".

"Come on Jasmine, look around you no one likes you no one wants to come in contact with you. They call you stupid names even your family despises you and your mate? Well...do you need to be reminded of what happened?"He says with so much anger in his eyes and speech "What can I do Doctor Bane? I have nowhere else to go and in my condition being a rogue is not an option for me" I reply timidly not able to stand the look he giving me. Doctor Bane scoffs and goes silent for a few minutes before saying "I know how tough this is for you but I need you to think about it. You can't keep doing this to yourself it's not healthy and this isn't helping with your healing process...You need to move away from this toxic darn park" he stated.

I keep quiet just staring out the window not knowing what to say "I'll...think about it Doctor Bane, thank you" I finally speak up and he nods before telling me to get back to him once I have decided then he walks out. I stare at the door for moon goddess knows how long before shifting my gaze to the window as I stare at the full moon."Please...please" I keep repeating over and over hoping for something anything.

"Thank you so much Luna Lily for everything," I tell her as she escorts me back to my quarters at the pack house. After three days of staying at the park hospital I was nursed back to strength and Doctor Bane discharged me, the only park member that visited was Luna Lily my family members didn't step one foot in the hospital, not that I expected something from them anyways "Oh, stop it dear I'm just glad that you are here" she responded." So from now henceforth no more heavy-duty jobs for you, I will assign you easier chores around the park house...it's that okay dear?" she asked I nodded and she gave a broad smile to my answer before leaving me to rest.

I flop down on my bed and shut my eyes, recalling the conversation between Doctor Bane and myself and honestly, I haven't thought of leaving not once. I always thought of trying different ways to win the love of everyone in the park but that thought is down the drain now. I sigh" What am I thinking?" I silently say "Just..maybe, this might be the only option for me and Zammy," I think to myself. I feel my wolf stir in the back of my mind and I feel so sorry for her, I try to comfort her but it's futile."Zammy" I begin mind linking my wolf "I don't know if you can hear me but I need you to know that we are in this together. We will find happiness, I don't know when but we will and I love you so much never forget that" I finish but get no response.

Then I sense it, I don't know what it is exactly but I do sense it ...a presence, someone's aura but I can't quite place my finger on it and I can't tell anyone because well no one listens to me so I just ignored it, but for today I sense the presence so

strongly it's frightening and then I hear through the park link" There's been a breach in the park borders, every female and child should get to safety...I repeat" I could hear my alpha blast through the park link and I shuffle to get to my feet and hurry to the park's basement.

There is commotion everywhere and park warriors are leading children, and females to the basement "What are you doing here? Why aren't you down there yet?" Before I realize who said that I am yanked by my arm to the basement and I soon take notice of my elder brother Murphy gripping my arm "Murphy..what..what" I stutter "Shut it and get in there, I will deal with you later" he spat before shoving me to the floor of the basement.

I look around and take notice of every park member in the basement, everyone is frightened. I look for a corner and take a seat not wanting to attract any sort of attention to myself. But I still sense that presence and it's right here in the basement, I start to panic hoping no one finds out what's happening" Are you okay?"I hear one of the park members say but I don't reply I keep shivering I can't place my finger on what frightens me.

"Hey Heyy!" another park member calls out to me but I can't hear anything, I am so focused on the presence that I don't realize that the park members have surrounded me, I put my hands above my head" Make it stop...please make it stop" I call out "I beg of you please...make it stop!!!"I screamed out loud and the last thing I heard was the crashing of something and the screams of the park members before I lost consciousness I heard a voice very loud and clear" Finally...I found you".
