Chapter 5 Let her go.

Meanwhile Victoria's father was really angry at her for not following his orders,her mother was trying her best to calm him down.

" it's your fault for spoiling her too much now she is refusing to help her family without batting an eyelid ,that unfilial daughter of yours!!" He yelled on top of his lungs

"What do you mean i spoiled her? Ever since Victoria was young she always tried her best to make you proud but what do you do? You overlook her achievements mainly because she was born a female and you don't think she is suitable for the business world" Evelina retorted angrily

She also think it was unfair as she had always seen that Victoria was quite capable even more than their eldest son but but she couldn't say anything at all thus Victoria had always kept her distance from her as she thought she was also biased as a mother but today she couldn't take it anymore and thought that Edward had gone to far by disowning Victoria.

" Now our whole family is going to be ruined, its only a matter of time before those debt collectors come for us, why won't she do this little sacrifice for us?" Edward said. He was still hell bent on making Victoria agree to the marriage alliance

" have you ever thought of your daughter's happiness while trying to make her a sacrificial lamb by marrying her to that lunatic? I get that their family is filthy rich and the will be able to prevent us from being bankrupt but why should Victoria pay for your mistakes?"

"But what else can I do if not form this marriage alliance. No this marriage has to go through!!" He was determined to let Victoria get married to that man even when he knew his reputation was bad just to prevent the Smith family from going bankrupt and to hide his sinful acts but what could he do,he has already threaten to disown Victoria and he was sure that she could not bear to be disowned so he was quite confident in his plan.

Evelina thought that her husband was really beyond redemption. But what they didn't expect was that Victoria would rather be disowned than agree to a forced marriage, both Evelina and Edward came out of their room when they heard commotion downstairs. Victoria was pulling her suitcase walking towards the door while Alexander was begging her to stay.

"Let her go" Came Edward's cold voice devoid of any emotion, as usual he thought that Victoria would not survive outside because she's a woman so he was really looking forward to see her crawling back after a few days.Evelina could only watch as her daughter disappeared from her sight and she knew that she had failed as a mother, she never had her back, she could only hope that in the future Victoria would be a better mother than she ever was.

Victoria really did not know where she was going as long as she is far away from her monster of a father it's fine and she didn't want to burden her best friend with her problems anymore so she just wondered in the streets with her suitcase looking out of place, as a young lady from a wealthy family she attracted a lot of attention but she couldn't be worried about what other people thought.

She thought of hailing a cab so she could book into a hotel when suddenly a black Maybach stopped beside her and the window of the back seat rolled down. She caught a glimpse of the person's face and knew immediately that he was not an ordinary man as she could feel the aura emanating from him. "If you are done staring at me you can get in" Victoria didn't even realize that she was staring at him but after a few seconds she was still in daze and climb onto the car, neither Victoria or the mysterious man said anything until the car stopped at a red light and Victoria realized that she was riding in a car with a total stranger who neither said anything since she got in the car or even ask her anything.

Her hands were sweating as all possible scenarios played in her head. What if this man sitting across her was a mafia gang leader nad wanted to keep her as a sex pet or what if he is a human trafficker, she thought that made sense looking at the type of car he was riding in. As if sensing her discomfort and doubts " relax i won't do anything to you i just want to talk"a cold voice broke her out of her scenarios , although the purpose of those words were to make her more relaxed instead Victoria became more panicked and asked herself what business did she have with the underworld people. Her change of expressions didn't go unnoticed by the man besides her ,he was quite amused and found her interesting but because his face was in the dark Victoria didn't the small smile at the corner of his mouth and continued to think of more terrifying scenarios in her head.

"Young Master we are here" the driver announced finally breathing a sigh of relief as the atmosphere in the car was awkward for him , he had never seen his young master riding in the same car with a woman before so he was shocked.

" follow me" the man said as he got out of the car. Although Victoria came from a good background she couldn't help but be amazed looking at the magnificent, aristocratic yet cold manor in front of her, she realized that what she always been exposed to was not wealth but a small piece of the pie. What was now in front of her was the real definition of wealth but a thought crossed her mind quickly, what did the man want from her if he had everything? Well she couldn't dwell much on it as she would soon have the answers she seeks.
