Chapter 4 After the conversation

Nia looked at her husband with a gaze full of honesty. "You've been different lately, Rama. You often come home late, daydream more, and it seems like something is bothering your mind. Please, tell me what happened."

Rama felt his chest tighten. He didn't want to lie to Nia, but he didn't know how to say it either. He was afraid that if Nia found out what really happened, their marriage would be ruined.

"Nia, it's nothing. I just... I'm just a little stressed with work," Rama finally answered, trying to sound convincing.

However, Nia was not easily persuaded. She knew her husband too well to believe that it was only work that made him like this. "Rama, I am your wife. I know there is something you are not telling me. If you love me, please do not hide anything."

Rama felt his heart torn apart hearing Nia's words. He knew that Nia deserved to know the truth, but he also knew that the truth could destroy everything. "Nia, I... I love you. Trust me."

Nia was silent, feeling disappointed but also not wanting to force her husband. "Okay, Rama. I'll try to believe you. But please, if there's something you're hiding, tell me before it's too late."

Rama could only nod, without saying anything else. That night, when they slept side by side, the distance between them felt further than before. Rama felt like a person trapped in a dilemma with no way out.

Meanwhile, at the office, Maya also feels the pressure growing. Although she tries to be professional, her feelings for Rama are not something she can easily shake off. Every time she sees Rama, her heart flutters, and she finds it increasingly difficult to contain her feelings.

Until one day, when Rama was busy with work in his room, Maya suddenly knocked on the door and entered without waiting for an answer. Her face looked anxious and nervous.

"Mr. Rama, I... I need to talk to you," Maya said in a slightly trembling voice.

Rama lifted his head from the pile of documents in front of him and looked at Maya with a confused look. "What's wrong, Maya?"

Maya locked the door to the room, then walked closer to Rama's desk. "I... I can't continue this anymore, sir. These feelings are getting harder for me to control."

Rama was silent, feeling anxious. "Maya, we have agreed not to continue this relationship. We must not do it again."

Maya lowered her head, tears starting to flow down her cheeks. "I know, sir. But I can't forget that night. I can't stop thinking about you."

Rama felt his heart break seeing Maya cry. He knew that Maya was also struggling with her feelings, just like him. But he also knew that they had to be strong, they had to stop before things got worse.

"Maya, I feel the same way. But we have to stop it. We can't continue this. I love my wife, and I don't want to destroy our marriage," Rama said in a firm voice, even though his heart felt heavy.

Maya nodded slowly, even though her heart ached. "I understand, sir. I just... I just need time to get over this."

Rama looked at Maya with mixed feelings. He wanted to comfort Maya, but he also knew that the closer they got, the harder it would be to hold back those feelings.

"Time will help us, Maya. We must remain professional and focus on work," Rama finally said.

Maya wiped her tears, trying to smile even though it felt very difficult. "Okay, sir. I will try."

After the conversation, Maya left Rama's room with a heavy heart. She knew she had to be strong, but her feelings for Rama were too deep to be ignored. Meanwhile, Rama was back to his work, trying to distract himself from the feelings that kept bothering him.
