Chapter 4 Feeling

Ava couldn't shake off the feeling that Landon was hiding something from her. She had seen the way he looked at her, the way he touched her, and she knew that he was drawn to her. But there was something more, something he wasn't telling her.

As they sat down for dinner, Ava decided to confront him. "Landon, can I ask you something?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Landon looked up from his plate, his eyes locked on hers. "Of course, Ava. What is it?"

Ava took a deep breath. "What kind of man are you, and why do you like me, and I also feel like you're hiding something from me. Something big."

Landon's expression changed, his eyes flashing with a warning. "Ava, I...I don't know what you're talking about."

But Ava wasn't fooled. She knew that he was lying. "Don't play games with me, Landon. What is a man like you doing with me"

Landon sighed, his shoulders sagging. "Fine. But you have to promise me that you'll listen with an open mind."

Ava nodded, her heart racing with anticipation.

Landon took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm not who you think I am, Ava. Am not just a regular business man there's something else am involved in, and also the other business I do is scary and it's not something you should be involved in".

Ava's eyes widened as she tried to process what Landon was telling her. Who was he, really? And what did he mean by "something I should not be involved in?".

Ava's mind was racing with questions, but before she could ask any of them, Landon continued.

"I'm part of a secret organization, Ava. A group of people who have been hiding in plain sight for centuries. We have power, influence, and wealth beyond your wildest dreams."

Ava's eyes were wide with shock. "What kind of organization?" she whispered.

Landon leaned in, his voice barely audible. "We're a group of wealthy business men, Ava. But not just any business men. We do more than just business. We collect secrets, information, and power."

Ava felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Why are you telling me this?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Landon's eyes locked onto hers. "Because I want you to be a part of it, Ava. and you're in danger just being here with me, this is bigger than you Ava.

Ava was taken aback. She didn't know what to say or think. Part of her was intrigued, but another part was terrified.

"What do you mean danger, how? what do you guys do, and if you know an in danger em why do you keep appearing before me?, I don't know, Landon, but you're actually scaring " she said finally. "I need time to think."

Landon nodded. "I understand. But know this, Ava. Once you're in, there's no going back. You'll be part of this world forever."

Ava shivered at the thought. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to make the right decision.

As she left Landon's mansion that night, Ava couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to change forever.

Ava was still reeling from Landon's revelation when she got home, she saw a letter in her front porch, she picked it up to check if it belongs to her, she saw her name on the letter and opened it up and The letter read: "I've been looking for you, Ava. You look just like your sister." She looked at the back of the letter and saw a number on the back of the letter.

Ava was confused. She had been told that her parents were deceased and that she had no living relatives. That's why she was sent to the orphanage.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to call the number. The line was connected but no she did not hear any voice from the other end, so she said the first word.

" Hello, please who am I speaking with?" She asks.

A woman's voice spoke fro the other end" Hello Ava, my name is Vanessa and am your sister" the woman said, if you want to know everything, come to the white swan cafe tommorow by 2 pm and I promise to tell you everything you need to know" she said and ended the call.

Ava sat down to process what she has just heard from the lady, she has a sister, how come she had no idea about it, and why is the lady sounding Mysterious like she's in danger. Her curiosity got the better of her and she decided to go meet the lady.

The following day she got dressed and went to meet the lady, she entered the café, she saw a woman who looked uncannily like her. Same piercing green eyes, same curly brown hair, same small nose.

"Who are you?" Ava asked, feeling a mix of emotions.

"My name is Vanessa," the woman replied. "And I'm your sister."

Ava's mind was racing. "That's not possible," she said. "I was told my parents were dead and that I had no living relatives.Vanessa smiled sadly. "That's what they wanted you to believe, Ava. But the truth is, our parents are alive. And they're not who you think they are."

Ava felt like her whole world was turned upside down. She didn't know what to believe or who to trust.

But before Vanessa could reveal more, a group of men burst into the café, looking for Ava.

"Ava, come with us," one of them growled

Vanessa stood up, her eyes flashing with anger. "You're not taking her anywhere," she said.

And with that, Vanessa pulled out a gun and started firing. Ava was shocked and confused, but she knew she had to get out of there. She followed Sophia out of the café, into a waiting car.

As they sped away, Ava turned to Vanessa. "Who are you? And what's going on?"

Sophia smiled. "I'm your sister, Ava. And we're in this together now."
