The next day, Samuel arrived at school, only to run into Seth and his gang on the way. Sammy sighed, trying to compose himself.
"Bastard!" Seth cursed, glaring at Sammy. Seth raised an eyebrow when Sammy looked back at him. "What?!" Seth blurted out. Just then, his girlfriend came crashing into him.
"Babe!" she purred. Seth smirked at Sammy before pulling his girlfriend into a deep kiss, squeezing her as his gang laughed, mocking Sammy. Sammy rolled his eyes and quickly walked away.
During recess, Nana begged the guys to join her in the library.
"I haven't been there in ages!" she complained.
"And so? Don't you know about the rumors?" Ryan asked.
"C'mon, don't believe those lies. Besides, we can handle it if there really is something," Nana encouraged them.
All the students were scared of the library because of rumors about a guy who saw an evil spirit and became mute. Sammy had only been to the library once since he'd been at the school.
"Should we just go?" Ryan asked Sammy.
"Okay," Sammy finally agreed.
---
"See? The library is a really cool place," Nana said.
"Cool and creepy. How could a library have this many books? It's like half of the world's books are in here," Ryan muttered.
"Let's explore!" Nana said, heading in a direction. "And what are we looking for?" Sammy asked.
"Cool books!" Nana replied.
"This girl," Ryan sighed.
"Your wife," Sammy smirked. Ryan gasped as Sammy ran to catch up with Nana.
"What?!" Ryan yelled.
The trio wandered through the large library, amazed by the interesting books they came across.
"Looks like I'll be coming here often," Ryan said.
"Yeah, right!" Nana rolled her eyes.
As Sammy reached for a book, the shelf shook and moved away, revealing a wall. They all gasped.
"How did you do that?!" Nana asked in shock.
"I don't know," Sammy muttered.
"Interesting!" Ryan said as he wound a stone on the wall, causing it to part and reveal a passage.
"Ryan!" Nana scolded.
"Let's go and see what's inside," Sammy said.
"Yeah!" Ryan agreed, following him.
"Guys!!" Nana called, but they didn't seem to mind her. She sighed and followed them.
They walked through the dark passage with the help of Ryan's phone flashlight, only to find an old book at the end, sitting on top of a rock.
"Why would they hide a book?" Nana wondered.
"Let's go back," Ryan said. But when Sammy touched the book, a cold breeze brushed their skin, and they began to hear creepy sounds from the corners.
"Run!" Nana shouted as she took off. The guys quickly followed, as if pursued by a demon.
They ran out of the passage and the library, slamming the door behind them.
"What the heck was that?" Ryan panted.
"I don't know! We are never coming here again," Nana said, breathing heavily.
"Says the one who almost got us killed," Sammy shot her a look.
"I'm sorry, guys! At least we are safe," Nana said.
