Chapter 5 Deal with it

As soon as they stepped out of the Lamborghini that drove them home she already felt so tired she wanted to go to bed as soon as possible.

"Welcome home my darling wife," Rafael said to her, taking her hand into his as they walked into the mansion.

It took a long time for Ethan to go in and as soon as they got in, the staff who had been waiting for them exploded into cheers and clapping as the congratulations rented the air.

While all the staff dispersed, Bernice could swear that Ethan's piercing gaze was still on her.

He has been feeling so uncomfortable all this while. He still couldn't believe that she was married to his uncle.

"I think I'd rather start going home immediately ."

Rafael glanced at his wristwatch.

"We just got back from the reception, don't you think it's quite late for you to go back to your apartment?"

At the world apartment, Bernice raised her eyebrows and she gave Ethan a funny look.

If only Rafael knew that he had no place to call his home, that he had gambled away his house two months ago and he had been squatting at her place.

Now that he had wronged her she was damn sure he was going to stay in a hotel for the time being.

"I would like to go upstairs and change," Bernice said just to avoid seeing his stupid face.

"Okay, my love," Rafael said, just to piss him off more she approached Rafael and pecked him on the cheeks.

She would swear that at that very instant Ethan was so red that he wanted to explode with anger but it was none of her business.

"All right," Rafael said, smiling at her.

By the time she got upstairs to the room, she slammed the door and almost leaped up in joy. She congratulated herself for taking a very bold and beautiful step. It was one way to get revenge.

And Olivia, haven't heard of her for some time now.

Speaking of which... She picked up her phone to give her a call. She wanted them to feel the pain she had felt when she saw them making out the day before.

It was at the first ring that Olivia picked up

And she didn't even allow her to say something when she screamed into the phone in excitement.

"Congratulations bride-to-be." Olivia said, "I read about you a while ago."

"Not a bride-to-be." she corrected ."I'm already his wife.

She had a mental image of Olivia gasping for air from shock." You mean you are already married to Italy's richest man?"

"Yes, best friend ." she smiled "And oops, I forgot I wanted to invite you but then I felt that you might try to snatch my husband. "

She loved her play of words and she wasn't done with her when she continued.

*And I also love to invite you to my home but you don't know how to close your legs, how am I sure that you won't take my husband right before my eyes? Once bitten twice shy you know. "

Then Oliver's voice came again on the other end

"I'm sorry," she said.

Before she could continue, Bernice interrupted.

"The reason why I'm calling you is not because of my marriage, I just want to let you know that Ethan is now yours, you can have him for all I care and also the man whom you're thinking is wealthy gambled his house 2 months ago ." She threw her head back and laughed.

"So for now you both will be staying on the streets."

And with that, she cut off the phone and threw it on the bed.

She quickly got into the bathroom and came out a few minutes later.

She picked up some folded clothes on the bed and quickly changed and looked at herself in the mirror.

She came down to find out that dinner had already been served.

Ethan was staring at his food as he ate slowly,she knew he didn't want to see her because she was already pissing him off.

She sat very close to Rafael as they began to eat.

There was a huge silence between all three of them,she knew he was angry she was married to his uncle but he had to deal with it.

"My lovely wife and I will be going on a honeymoon. I would like you to oversee the company in our absence. "Rafael broke the silence.

"What !" Ethan heard himself saying. I don't understand,you mean you both are going on honeymoon?"

Both Rafael and Bernice exchange surprise glances.

"What sort of question is that? Is this the first time you are hearing the word 'honeymoon' "

"Beside." Rafael probed further.

"You told me you are in a relationship with a certain girl, how is it going? He asked, chewing his food slowly and reaching for a glass of wine and sipping, his eyes were still fixed on Ethan who suddenly turned red.

Bernice's heart gave a mad jump when she looked down at her food only to look up to see that Ethan was staring at her.

"What's going on? " Rafael asked incredulously." Why are both of you staring at each other? "

"Oh nothing, just that he looks so heartbroken. " She smirked

Ethan's head was spinning and it felt like he wanted to cry.

"Oh, I see ."Rafael said, smiling mischievously, then he turned to Bernice.

"I think I should get you a car as a wedding gift," he said, holding her hand and lovingly peering into her eyes.

She gave a cynical smile and knew what she was about to say would throw him off balance.

"But I also need one more thing."

"Which is?"

"I need someone to take me around the town. "

"Tell me and it is done, who do you want ?"

There was a great silence before she turned and looked at Ethan.

I think your nephew should,he knows everywhere. He should be my driver."
