Chapter 2 THE ALPHA'S MATE

I screamed in pain, as I held my face "Why did you hit me! what is wrong with you?" I asked with tears flowing down my cheeks.

"Are you crazy? How dare you delay my breakfast, you this woofless lazy omega" Eva shouted at me.

"That is why you killed your parents, because I'm sure they died while protecting you".

Hot tears flowed down my cheeks, I felt a sharp pain in my chest as if a sword had been pierced through my heart, when I heard her talk about my parents.

I was dumbfounded, I didn't know what to say to her, I just lowered my head as I sat on the kitchen stool beside me.

I was confused.

"Why would Eva treat me this way? I thought we were best of friends, we used to be fond of each other. What changed?" I asked myself, I was lost in thoughts when I heard my aunt call me from the Living room.

"Ciara! hurry up with the break fast I'm late for work!" She said,

I quickly stood up and completed the meal I was making and I set the table for breakfast.

My aunt and Eva sat down to eat and I joined them to eat at the dining table.

"What do you want to do Ciara, you want to join us at the dining table?" My aunt asked.

"I'm sorry ma, I'm very hungry" I replied.

"You must be insane to think we will sit together with you and eat on the same table, will you get up and leave this place immediately". Eva ordered.

"She said you should leave!" My aunt shouted.

I quickly stood up and left the dining room.

I entered the kitchen and I sobbed till there was no more tears in my eyes.

Few minutes later, my aunt walked into the kitchen to get a bottle of fruit juice from the refrigerator.

"There are some dirty clothes in my room, make sure you wash and iron them, and be very careful with those fabrics, they are expensive, I don't want to hear stories when I get back from work". She said.

"Thanks mum for reminding me, Ciara, I left some clothes on my bed too, please wash and iron them for me as well". Eva added.

"Ok ma!" I replied and they both left.

I washed all the clothes and was ironing when Eva got back with her friends.

"Ciara please come to my room and give me a massage, my body aches so badly" Eva said.

"I'm sorry Eva but I'm trying to iron mum's clothes. Could you please hold on while I iron these clothes then I'll come to your room afterwards". I replied

"What? Are you insane? I said you should come give me a massage and you are telling me you can't, or you want me to throw you out on the streets? You woofless omega". Eva said, clenching her fist.

Her friends burst into laughter when she mentioned I was woofless, they made fun of me and laughed at me to scorn.

"Is this not your cousin? Ciara! why is she here and why is she dressed like a maid?" Anah her friend asked still laughing.

"And she looks unkempt," her other friend, Uri, added.

"She is not my cousin and she can never be, come to my room immediately and don't keep me waiting". Eva ordered

"Let's go girls she said to her friends", as they left for her room, booing and making fun of me.

I left the clothes I was ironing and went to her room to massage her body.

They laid on the bed discussing, from guys to fashion and then to the Alpha of their pack, they all wished he chose either of them as his Luna.

"Anah, I wish the moon goddess will bless me with Alpha Damian, he is so cute, handsome and one of the strongest Alpha's around the East region I'm the perfect fit for his Luna". Eva said.

"No Eva, I'm more fit to be the Luna of our Pack, can't you see how beautiful I look?" Anah said.

She stood up and turned 360 degrees displaying her hourglass shape to her friends.

Anah is truly a beauty to behold, her oval face accentuates her facial beauty, she is carefully crafted as her hourglass shape is so visible that even the blind could see.

"How can either of you be Luna when I, Uri, the fairest of them all, the most beautiful wolf in our pack is still very much single and yet to get her Mate" she said as she howled".

"It's okay Ciara you can go now, I feel a lot better", Eva said.

"I want a massage too". Anah said.

"I'm sorry Anah, can we do this after I'm done ironing, I don't want mum to be upset when she comes back and finds out her clothes are not ready, please?" I said.

"Are you crazy? Give her a massage now!" Eva ordered.

"And what if I don't ", I replied.

"Then we'll beat you to pulp" Eva said.

"Eva, I won't do it! I've got lots of chores to do and here you are ordering me to massage you and your friend's body, are you not even suppose to help me with..."

Tawaiii! Was the sound I heard on my cheek, my eyes turned red almost immediately.

"Why will you slap me Eva?"

I wanted to return the slap when she and her friends pounced on me, hitting me on my head and stomach. I screamed for help but no one came to my rescue.

" I'm sorry please it won't happen again" I pleaded with them after almost 15 minutes of torture, they left me warning me never to flaunt their orders ever again.

Just then I perceived a burnt smell coming from the laundry room.

"What is smelling?" Eva asked,

"Mum's clothes!" she screamed as she rushed to the laundry room.

I stood up and staggered to the laundry room.

"You burnt my mum's clothes? Now you are in real trouble". Eva said to me.

My hands trembled, and my heart raced. I didn't know what was going to happen next, or what my aunt would do to me, the only thought that came to my mind was to run away.

I quickly left the house and ran into the woods, I didn't know where I was going but I kept running as fast as my legs could carry me, I stopped running when I started hearing some voices, I trembled in fear as the voices came closer and I saw two men arguing.

"Alpha Damian this place is not safe for you, let's go back home please". One of them said.

"I can't, I feel good here, seeing these trees makes me calm". Said the other man.

He must be the Alpha I said to myself, he was dressed in a royal regalia, his tall and well built body fit perfectly into the purple robe he wore, Eva's description didn't do justice to this cuteness.

Immediately, he turned and started walking towards my direction, I hid behind a tree, and looked again but didn't see them, I started shaking in fear.

Few minutes later, a strong hand held my arm from behind and I turned to see who it was.

Immediately our eyes met he screamed "MATE!"
