Chapter 5 The Office Drama

On getting back home, Camille waltzed into her house in anger as her parents were seating in the living room watching TV, her anger was very visible even the blind could see it. She turned to her mom as she said to her "Mom, I need you now" her parents looked at each other as her mom stood up and went to her room to see her. When she got in, she said to her "Mom, she's back" her mom looked at her wondering what she meant as she said to her "Don't keep me guessing".

"Mom, that wretch, that whore Ava, my fathers wretched daughter is back mom, I saw her at the party tonight" Camille said as her mom was shocked, they both sat down on the bed as she said to Camille, "I hope she doesn't know who she slept with that night, she didn't see his face anyways and she...what the hell is she doing back here. It's been six long years and now you are engaged to Alessandro she dares to come back".

Camille was worried as she said "Look mom, we will have to do something about this, how about you and dad talk to the Lombardi's about fixing the wedding date soon, I mean we have been engaged for what! Three years now and that's a long time to be engaged mom, it is and I am tired, I need to be the daughter in law of that family and soon". Her mom nodded as she said "You are right, you are absolutely right my dear. I don't know why she is back and that is none of our concern, but we need to get the marriage train on the road and I have just the plan for that".

Ava got home and she saw her friend sipping a glass of wine as she watched TV waiting for her to get back, when she did, she fell to the couch feeling super exhausted as her friend noticed her mood and then she asked "What's up girl, what happened, why do you seem so off?" she sighed as she said to her "I met the devil". Her friend laughed as she said "Was he cute" she turned to her as she sighed and said "Come on girl, I am being serious" Emma laughed as she said "Okay fine, I mean what would you have me say when you say you met the devil".

Ava sighed as she said "You know, coming back here, I knew I would bump into some enemies eventually, but I didn't expect it to be this soon" she said as she sighed. Saying that got Emma a bit concerned as she said "Okay, talk to me, what do you mean when you say, you met the devil, which of them, the mother or the daughter?" Ava sighed as she said "The daughter, she was also at the event, I mean I know she is into design and all as well so it makes sense that she got invited".

Emma sighed as she asked "How do you feel about it?" Ava sighed as she said "These people have hurt me so much in the past, I mean just to save my mom I did something I regret so much, but if there is one good thing about all of this is my babies. Whenever I look at them, all the hurt and pain just leaves me, I just hope I never get to see any of them ever again". Her friend leaned close to her as she gave her a hug with pats on her back" then she sighed as she said "Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me, can't wait to be at the office".

The following day, Ava got ready as she got dressed in a pink palazzo trouser and a white innerwear with a pink floral blazer, she got the kids ready as she had to stop by their new school and get them registered, and after that she drove to the Lombardi Company. When she got there, she sat at reception waiting since she came a bit earlier than when she ought to have come, while she was going through her phone, she heard the voice of the devil once again as she raised her head and was shocked to see Camille here,

Camille's eyes narrowed as she approached Ava, her voice dripping with malice. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The little stepsister I thought I'd never see again."

Ava's gaze locked onto Camille's, her expression calm but wary. "Camille. I see you're still as charming as ever and last I checked, I was the older one. What are you doing here?"

Camille sneered. "And I see you're still as desperate as ever. What are you doing here, Ava? Trying to ride my coattails to success?" Ava smirked as she said "I didn't come here to see you, so I am going to ignore you". Camille was so pissed as she leaned close to her as she said to her "What are you doing here, I thought you left and was never to come back, so why are you here".

Ava was surprised wondering what's with the questions as she pulled away and said to Camille, I don't know who you are here and why you are here, but like I said, I am not here for you. I have a meeting with the CEO and you are not the CEO I presume, good, so get lost" Camille was surprised and shocked at the new Ava, once upon a time Ava would never speak to her like that or even look her in the eye and she just told her to get lost.

In her anger, she called the security; Ava was surprised why she called them as she nodded and turned away as she didn't want to be a spectator to Camille's drama. When they came in, she said to them pointing at Ava, "Take this woman away" Ava looked at her as she stood up as Camille said, "She shouldn't be here, she was asked to leave and she is loitering so take her away" the security immediately held her hand as they were about to take her out forcibly while Camille stood there smiling with folded hands.

Just then, a voice came through all the chaos, "What's happening here?" immediately Camille turned and saw Alessandro and Javier, and she bit her lip as she knew her plans would be foiled, immediately, Ava pulled her arms away from the security personnel's, and then she turned and saw Alessandro and Javier, two familiar faces, she was surprised to see them as she got her bag from where she was seated. Alessandro came forward as he completely acted like he didn't remember her, while Javier smiled and said to her "Who do we have here, A" She smiled as she asked what he is doing here, he smiled and said "I am a Lombardi".

She was surprised as she said "That means you are my boss" he nodded as he said "Well technically pointing at Alessandro, "He is your boss, he is the CEO and I am the vice". She turned to him as she stretched her hands out to greet him and he did the same too, then the receptionist came as she greeted them and then she introduced Ava as the designer they were waiting for.

Camille was shocked, she had been trying to get rid of Ava all these while and there she is, standing there as the designer they hired for the company, how could she not have looked at the personal profile of the person she thought to herself as she bit her lip in anger, Javier smiled as he said "Wow! Interesting, you are not only beautiful, but you are the talented designer we will be working with". Ava sighed as she said "Well not anymore" she turned away and was leaving when Alessandro held her hand.

He felt a strange connection to her as she looked at his hand on hers and then back to him as he pulled it away and turned to her, then he said "My apologies Miss Castillo" then he turned to the security guard and asked what happened as he explained that Camille called them to throw Ava out as she was constituting a nuisance".

Alessandro angrily turned to Camille as he said "Do you care to explain yourself" she bit her lips as she smiled and said "I am so sorry babe, I mean, Mr. Lombardi. It was just a misunderstanding". Alessandro turned to Ava as he said "I am so sorry you were treated badly, my sincere apologies". In anger she said to him "Why are you apologizing, you did nothing wrong, the one who wronged me should be the one apologizing".

Camille looked at her daringly like how dare she ask that, she refused as Alessandro said "And what are you waiting for Miss Castillo, you made a mistake so you should apologize", Camille knew she had to do it, because she didn't want Alessandro to be upset and mad at her, and that could jeopardize the plans she and her mom is making, so with a smile she walked up to Ava and said to her "I am so sorry Miss Castillo, I misunderstood and I am so sorry".

Ava sighed as she said, "I am a freelance designer and despite the fact I will be working here on a contract period, I expect to be treated with respect. It is because f heads like you I chose to be my own boss and not work under anyone". Alessandro sighed as he said to her in a calm voice, Camille was surprised he had that side to him as whenever he spoke to her, he always sounded so worked up all the time, he managed to calm Ava down as she said "Fine, I accept the job".

Javier clapped as they all went to Alessandro's office and there, all the papers were signed and then Alessandro introduced Camille to her as her head, then he said "I know you both had your issue downstairs but I want to believe that is sorted, Ava nodded and so did Camille as he stood up and said "Good to know" he stretched his hands forward towards Ava as he said to her "Welcome to Lombardi Builders And Construction, Miss Castillo" she shooked his hand with a smile as they both stared intensely at each other.
