Chapter 4 Good Time to visit old friends

The next morning Clara awoke in fright . " another nightmare " ' knock knock knock' Are they watching me , always know when they're needed "she believed

"Good morning Miss ,the young master has asked that I attend to your needs. Is there anything the miss requires."

"No thanks, I'll be leaving later today." Ohh the maid appears to be disappointed "why the long face ?"

"Well ( she begins unsure of herself) the master rarely comes home so it's been awhile since I'd had female company. Clara stood puzzled

'If you would excuse me '

How could she be lonely I remember seeing many females maids she contemplated but concluded strange house stranger people .

Walking down the flight of stairs, lost in thought 'sleep well ?'

" Uhh oh Good morning " Karl nods

" Thank you for letting me stay I feel much better now" he nods " I have a place to stay , so I'll be on my way"

" I'll drop you at your friend's place" he interrupted and fled almost immediately and comes back with her luggage in hand.

He hops in the car driving towards Mia's apartment. It was a quiet drive apart from Clara constant direction which seems unnecessary as he seemed to know where to go.

They arrived in front of the building was a lady draped in blue jeans and leather jacket . Clara skipped out the car wanting to reunite with her friend. Mary also shared similar thoughts as she engulfed Clara in a bear hug; But stop abruptly as she stares at the beautiful creature before her (Karl) .

Clara traced Mays gaze and finds her gawking at Karl .

"Knowing you this is the best reaction I could ever hope for " she believed.

" So Karl this is my friend Mary, " Nice to meet you " May however couldn't utter a word and just nodded.

'I believe this farewell ' He hoped in the car and speeds off.

And now for the interrogation " Clara believed. As she turned around slowly. " OMG Clara I want the full gist don't skip a beat "

'Of course we'll discuss everything out here ' she suggested quick ironically.

Eagerly she pulled Clara into the apartment building. "You tell me everything here" she places a glass of orange juice .

Mary's is nothing different; a two bedroomed apartment full furnished, a living room and kitchen joined but no dining area. "Well?

" There's a lot to Karl that meets the eyes I'll admit .

I had this little accident and he took me to the hospital

" Hold no , nobody said anything about an accident"

" James kicked me out , thanks to that slut

of his getting pregnant . I'm out in the cold night waiting for a taxi only to be knocked down by a car , wake up in the hospital surrounded by a doctor and nurse, along with Karl who pays my medical bills and discard paper. I stay over at his villa that by the way has an amazing garden, dozens of maids.

And that's my life this past week any questions? "

"So he's handsome and rich , talk about double package." Mia inquired

" Is that really all you heard? " Clara questions

" CLA,he almost killed you but it's obvious you've had the a very bad week , now that you're here " she squeals

"Oh that not the end things only get weirder " Clara revealed all the unusual events, her dreams, the rose and the Mysterious door.

While unpacking Clara found a brand new Samsung phone. " How did this get here?" She gasped .

" That's the latest model, looks like a parting gift from Karl . There's a sim inside call him."

"Oh Mia " Clara sighed with a gloomy expression

" Let me guess ,you don't have his number" she asked sarcasticly

Clara could only nod

"Sweetie you need work, we'll start at club"

Mia suggested

" No clubs for me "

" Oh sweetie , that wasn't a request" she smiled menacingly

" I like to see you try" Clara declared.

( It would seem a staring contest had broken out right there , both equally strong opponents locked eye balls . Only one winner 🏆)

Club lumina

Mia at the counter ordering when a middle aged man walks and stops right next to her .

" Give me two bottles of beer " she orders " "Woo hoo what's a beauty like you doing in a place like this" he inquired.

" Why don't you mind your business" she restored.

" Wow,I like the fiety one's, why don't you come with me and I'll pay handsomely cupcake. " He teased.

" Call me cupcake again and you'll be eating your next cupcake through a straw" she threatened and departed to Clara.

" You look infuriated" Clara inquired.

" Just some old farts trying to flirt with me .Men have no shame."

' True that ' Clara murmurs

They continue to converse while drinking until Mia favorite tune is played , she sways over to the dance floor leaving Clara at their table. Busy exploring the features on her phone Clara hears a voice call out for her.

VOICE: I promise to always protect you,

but I'm not sure how long I can hold.

Confused Clara looks around, she see a girl two tables across, oddly dressed. A waiter passed through her without noticing her existence. She smiles at Clara and starts walking away.

Quickly packing her things, she chases after her but loses track of her on the dance floor.

She sees Mia " Did u see a girl with strange clothes pass through?

"Uh no " Mia answers ackworldly

Beep , beep Mia's phone rings a frown settles on her face "what's wrong? " Clara inquires .

My security alarm went off, someone broke in.

"What " " We have to go" Mia gets hold of Clara and tries to manover her way towards the exit.

They manage to hail a cab a get home ,

"The door was open but everything still in place strange" Mia pondered.

I'm going to bed Goodnight " Clara slid inside.

" That jerk, just when I was having fun ,"

She lamented until she realized there was still a couple of beer in her fridge.
