Abel's POV

It was an extremely exhausting day, I was busy attending various meetings and training that I could not wait to finally get some rest.

When I left the pack house to my chambers, I immediately went to my room and let my body rest in my soft bed. As I faced up, the blank ceiling appeared in my eyes.

"I, Abel Smith, Future Alpha of the crescent moon pack, reject Sophia as my mate and Luna."

Remembering the words I said to Sophia I felt heartbroken, my wolf hated me for what I said but it has to be done for me to become the greatest Alpha of all time. I can't have a weak mate.

Maybe from what I said, she would understand that I didn't like her. Even if she tried everything, I would never let a weak human be my Luna.

Sophia was weak. She didn't even meet my expectations for the mate I had wished for. I didn't know why my parents wanted her to be my Luna. I did everything to be as powerful as my father, and then the one that was supposed to be my Luna was far away from having the strength I wanted.

That was unfair on my part. There were some other girls who had the power that would make all men turn. But how the hell, among those girls, did the moon goddess choose that pathetic weak human as my mate?

From the very start, she shouldn't be in our pack, I hated it when my mind kept reminding me of her.

One knock on my door brought me back to life.

I got up and walked to my door.

When I opened it, the cold wind blew in my face. "Abel, was Sophia here?" It was Sophia's mother.

I opened the door widely to show her that Sophia was not here.

"She didn't even come here."

"She told me before that she would be here. she wanted to talk to you about the ceremony plan."

". She was not here," I lied. I had been with her a few hours back and rejected her.

When I said those words, she cried out loud, and before she fell, Henry carried her mother. I arranged myself just to give them sympathy for the things that I didn't have any idea about.

"What happened?" I asked calmly.

"We don't know where Sophia is. She disappeared."

I fell silent when I heard those words. I remembered what I had said earlier. Did Sophia do that?

"Have you checked anywhere she could go? What about her friend's house?"

"She didn't go to anyone. She wanted to come spend the evening with you. Besides, she only has one friend, and she was not with Alice," Henry said. Before I could say any words, he carried his mother who couldn't stop crying away.

I went outside and talked to Henry.

I just need Henry to tell me everything he knows.

"I was not sure about this, but what if Sophia jumped off the cliff?"

"What? No, she would never do such a thing." I said immediately, even though I wasn't sure about it.

"Did you tell her something that would trigger her?"

"No, of course not."

I had. I had told her everything. But I never thought of her doing such. But what if she did?

I remembered all the hurtful words I had said to her earlier.

Was this all my fault? Did she feel hurt by what I said to her? I rejected her as my Luna. But I only said what I felt.

"I would take the responsibility to search for her." I said using my Alpha tone

"Please, Abel."

Henry told me more about her sister's disappearance. He told me, someone saw Sophia cry and go somewhere. When the moon came, they looked for her, and my place was the last place they searched for her.

"Please... Please, bring my sister back. My mom would be sad if Sophia never came back."

Sophia was not his real sister, but he loved her that much.

"I will find her soon. I hope I will," I said in a low voice.

After that conversation, I went back to my house. I wanted to have a good night and sleep peacefully, but how could I, if I was worried about that weak human?

I had rejected her and wished for her to be gone. But now... I felt guilty for what I did, I feel like my heart was torn out of me.

I couldn't control myself, my wolf wasn't stable, he loved Sophia even if I didn't, he charged at me for what I did but it had to be done.

I changed my form and went to where Henry told me she was last seen. The wind blew slowly, while the moon brightened even more. My silver fur showed its power.

There was nothing on my mind right now except for the urge I needed to find the Luna I rejected

It has been three hours since I came here to the bottom of the cliff where they said she was headed to.

The water waves were loud, and the wind was colder here.

I moved around trying to get a hint of her scent. But I failed to find any. She was not here. I didn't find any signs of her. Even her orchid scent was not recognized.

As the cloud hid the moon, I changed back to my human form. I tried even harder to find Sophia and went to where I thought she might be. But I didn't see anyone there. I tried so hard to get a hint of her but there was no trace of her orchid scent.

I let my heavy breath out.

"Where are you, Sophia?"

How could I tell the news to my pack? They might have blamed me for what happened to my future Luna. Soon, I would become an Alpha, and what just happened to her would not be good for my reputation. My parents would be very angry with me if they found out the reason why Sophia disappeared, they really loved her.

If she jumped off the cliff, she was so stupid to do that. I wanted her gone in my life, but not like this. She gave me more headaches and started to give us more problems.

That was one of the stupid things that humans like her did.

Disappointed in myself, I went back. The sun was about to say hello to every creature. I have no courage to tell anyone that I didn't see Sophia. Before I went home, I decided to go down to Sophia's home, where I heard her mother cry again. She hasn't stopped since yesterday night. As I heard her cry from outside, I even felt more guilty about what I had done to their child.
