Chapter 5 Preparing for a concert

It was only a dream, I looked around and wondered where I was then it came crashing back to me. I tried to get up but but couldn't because I was tied to a chair. I could see in the dark that there were other people in the room but don't know how many.

The killer came into the room and switched on the light and I saw his face, he looked like a Russian, 185ft, strong muscular build with a star tattoo on his face. I looked at the broken window and saw it was slowly getting to dawn. "How long did I blacked out" I asked myself but that doesn't matter because I was feeling sleepy.

I woke up because of the sound of someone walking around, it was the killer. "How on earth did the police know I am hiding here"he muttered while setting up a sniper kit . The police were here thank God,it wasn't long before they defeated him and freed us. The sheriff thanked me but also scolded me that it was a dangerous risk I took.

Well before I left tonight, I activated the tracking device in my body and told my mom in the letter to call the police and track me down. And that's how the police were able to capture the killer. As the police were ransacking the rooms in the building.

They brought out a box, the sheriff wanted to check the box but an officer called for his attention in another room and they all went there. I stood there looking at the box when I noticed something like intial written with black ink. And it was strange because those look exactly like my Dad's intial .

My Dad's intial were R.Ä.V , the middle letter which was an "A" confirmed truly it was my Dad's. I had a sudden urge to know what was inside the box. I took out my dagger and used it to check any openings in the lid and I found one. It was actually opened so I slowly opened it but half of the top cover broke,the wood was already weak.

I looked inside the box and saw a book like a journal, I quickly took it and kept it in my bag. I searched the box again but found nothing of any value. I was still searching when I noticed that the policemen were coming back so I dusted my hands and pretended like I was doing nothing.

They asked me what happened to the box and I told them that I tried to kill a cockroach which was on top of the box and it broke. One of the policeman later took me home while another one took the other victims. My mom was setting the table for breakfast when I reached home.

"Mom I am very sorry about today" I apologized while walking towards her. She hugged me and said that she is not angry with me that she was very proud of me and my father would also be proud of me if he was here.

"Can you do me a favor, Gemma baby ?" she asked.

"Yes mom anything for you" I replied.

"Please starting from now live like a normal teenager and have fun" she pleaded.

"Yes mom I promise no more investigating and detective " I replied.

"Ok , go freshen up and come for breakfast" she said.

"Ok mom" I said and starts going to my room.

"Mom" I called.

"Yes baby" she answered.

"Thank you mom" I said.

"It is ok baby, go freshen up "she replied. I went up to my room anticipating the crazy things and fun I would enjoy like every normal teenage girl. But first I needed to know what was in that journal, I brought it out and opened it.

Blank pages stared at me, I had wanted to close it when I noticed a rope pointing out from the book. You know that kind of rope you would use to mark the place you stopped in a book .

I opened the page the rope was on and found it was blank like others, I turned it and a sentence was written on the page back and it says " Ne fais confiance ā personnel ,soleil ". It was french and it's translation is "Do not trust anyone, sunshine". I am very sure this message was for me from my Dad.

AUTHORESS POV

Gemma used the remaining months and the next year in having the best fun in her life. She and Tammy went to every party thrown in town. They participated in every school activities and were always updated about the latest trends, fashion, celebrity and TIKTOK challenges.

They even joined cheerleading and found out it wasn't only for shallow, hot girls. Gemma even had her first boyfriend but it didn't last though. There was a popular American singer called Back Moon, this singer was very popular but he had never performed in any concert since his musical career .

Gemma and Tammy were super fan of him. The singer later hosted his very first concert which would take place at Oklahoma city, Oklahoma. Tammy and Gemma were very excited when they heard about the concert, they immediately bought their tickets and anticipates the day they would go to the concert.

When it was two weeks to the day of the concert, Gemma told her mom about it. They were cutting vegetables for the evening salad when Gemma said to her mom "mom , Tammy and I are going to Oklahoma in two weeks time ".

Her mom who was pouring water from a jug into a bowel held the jug in mid-air. "And what are you guys going there to do?"she asked. "You know Black Moon right?" Gemma asked her mom.

"Uh huh" her mom answered even though she didn't know who the hell was Black Moon. "He is having his ever first concert in Oklahoma and we are going " Gemma continued.
