Chapter 5 Disqualified

"Sir, are you joking?" Liana's eyes widened at his words. She knows how much this livestream means to him, and he wants to cancel just because the chef who is supposed to do the livestream is not around yet.

Liana's phone rang, pulling her out of her thoughts. She glanced at her phone in her hand, and seeing the caller ID, she picked up the call immediately.

"Mr. James Wilson, where are you? I'm sure you are fully aware that the live stream is going to start in the next forty minutes," Liana said, gazing at Quinn.

"You can't make it? You have appendicitis surgery to do." She questioned him, biting her lips to stop herself from shouting at him.

"Cut the call and cancel the live stream," Quinn uttered, and Liana ended the phone call.

"I'm sorry, sir. He had an emergency surgery to do this morning. His appendicitis burst this morning," Liana apologized.

"You are bad at doing your job properly. Remove him from the team and ensure you cancel the live stream.

"Sir, I'll make it work. The development and planning team worked hard for the live stream, and I don't think we need to cancel this because someone failed to show up. We can find a substitute for today's live stream," Liana suggested.

Quinn stared at her, his lip moving sideways. "Excuse me, sir." Liana excused herself as she walked away, heading towards an employee.

"The contestant that came in late yesterday, can I get her information?" Liana asked, and the employee hastily searched for Rosy's profile and gave it to Liana.

She got her line from the profile and dialed her line almost immediately.

"Hello," Rosy's voice came out from the other end.

"Ms Rosy We would like to come over to L&F companies. We have a big offer for you. Can you make it in the next ten minutes?" Liana asked

"I'll make it in the next five minutes."

"I'll be waiting for you," Liana stated, and the call ended. She called on one of the security men around.

"Kara, go with him and bring Rosy. Wait for her at the entrance of the building," Liana ordered, and the employee left with the security man Liana beckoned on.

Ten minutes later, Rosy arrived. Liana approached her immediately and gave her the booklet she was holding.

"She will dress up. Read this recipe. You are going to cook four recipes on a live stream," Liana stated, and Rosy nodded before leaving with the employee.

Liana paced around, waiting patiently for Rosy to be ready.

After twenty minutes, Rosy appeared, looking charming in her cooking uniform with her hair tied up and covered with a transparent net. Her mouth has a mask that will prevent her from contaminating the food when cooking.

Liana went over to Quinn's side and bowed slightly.

"Sir, the chef is ready," she announced.

" Who?"

"Rosy, the contestant you chased away yesterday," Liana responded.

"No, I'd rather not do the live stream." Quinn stood up.

Rosy appeared just as Quinn was turning to leave.

"Please let me do the live stream," Rosy pleaded.

"I would rather cancel this live stream than choose you." Quinn scowled at her, and she exhaled deeply.

"Boss, I think she should do the live stream; I know how the live stream means to you." Liana said while turning to face him.

"If he doesn't want to choose me, that's fine," she said as she walked away, but she secretly hoped he stopped her.

"If this fails, Liana, you will be fired," Quinn uttered, and she turned to face him with a smile curling up on her face.

"Am I able to participate in the live stream?" she asked, but he just nodded.

They set to work, getting everything ready. With the cameras rolling, the livestream started without a hitch.

"Greetings, Welcome to the L& live stream. I am Rosy, and I'll be your chef for today's live stream. I'll give out four new food recipes and the procedure for making the food recipes, so don't tune out." She said this, smiling brightly as she rested her hand on the counter.

"I'll be making a recipe called Ultimate Mac & Cheese. Come learn how to make it," she said.

Quinn sat in a chair and observed her as she prepared the recipes, and to his surprise, the recipe was not part of the recipe submitted to him, which means she is using a food recipe she created herself.

Rosy continued making the recipe, and Quinn kept staring at her, not taking his eyes off her as she made the recipe. She prepared the first food recipe, and as soon as she was done, she went to the second food recipe and refused to drink water when one of the assistants around her offered to give her one.

Quinn found himself captivated by her smooth culinary skills and her dedication.

After what seemed like an eternity of hours, the livestream came to an end. Liana was shocked to see how huge the audience had left comments and how many people had seen the livestream when she looked at the view. Quinn was taken aback when she showed it to him, but his expression didn't change.

"Sir, the website is crashing," Liana said.

"What are you trying to say? The live stream made the website crash."

"There's a lot of orders."

"So, will you hire me to start working here?" Rosy asked as she showed up beside Liana, taking off the mask she wore with the net.

"No," he declared, and he turned to leave.

Quinn went directly into his office. Liana appeared shortly after he entered his office.

"Sir, I proposed that we hire..." She started to speak, but her sentence was cut off.

"When did you begin deciding things for me at work? I take it. You want to be fired? He stated in a harsh tone, "I don't think you love your work because if you do, you wouldn't make decisions for me," he added, but she wasn't bothered because she knew that was how he behaved harshly and brutally towards everyone.

"I'm sorry, sir," she apologized, but he gazed at her blankly.

"Were you the one that called her?" he asked.

"N...I mean yes," she stumbled, staring at the floor.

"Why would you call her? Did I give you permission to do so?" He said it with anger laced in his voice as he glared at her.

"I made Rosy the substitute because I know how much the livestream means to you, and I don't want us to cancel the livestream because one person wasn't there. We will also lose more audiences if we don't do the livestream," she explained.

"With that, I'm not going to hire her." He glanced at the door to see Rosy staring at him.

"Mr. Quinn," Rosy called, trying hard to believe she heard the wrong words. I'm hoping he doesn't mean those words.

"Use the door, including you, Liana."
