Chapter 4 Upcoming

Saturday came by really fast and here , me and Nathan stood at the airport waiting for Pamela and her family.

It took about thirty minutes before we finally saw them, or should i say before Nathan saw them in the midst of the crowd.

"Bella.. Bella , they are here "he said, pointing at the figures approaching us.

Pamela was running towards us , that made me and Nathan start running towards her too. We collided with each other, making us fall in different directions...we got up to make our sign.

"Bottoms up cheers for the past and the good life together, to the future ahead , to the present we are living in." We did that with our hands... Pamela was the one who brought out the slogan.

"So... Pamela, you are going to get us a welcome gift ", Nathan said.

"Are you serious right now?!" I am the one supposed to receive a welcome gift here Hello, hello i came back from Africa ". She scoffed.

"Nathan, you are taking us to a steak house. You are the odd one here", Pamela yelped.

"Heck no , Bella should take us instead" Nathan yelled.

"Who is me? Unbelievable count me out "I yelled.

"Okay fine, but you girls will not order too much food" Nathan said.

"So did you miss us ?" I asked, taking her luggage .

"Good day Mrs Charlotte , Good day Mr Jones " i greeted her parents, who had been watching us.

"So tests start in the next two weeks " Nathan informed Pamela.

"I am already aware, Bella told me two days ago", She said, winking at him.

"Pamela , my mom, traveled with Donald to Maldives. They won't be back till the next one month...they gave her a bonus promotion gift" said.

" And you didn't tell me, no wonder the house seemed empty," Nathan added.

"Congratulations to her , but why are you telling me this " She asked with her hands in the air.

"Come to my house and stay for a month" i asked. " Nathan is already staying there. You can come tomorrow" i added.

"No , I will come tonight". She replied smiling, "I love this idea".

We went to Pamela's house and chilled for a while and helped her keep her things in order. She packed the things she needed , then she went to her parents to tell them about the idea.

"Mom , Dad, I will be in Bella's house for a month " she said .

"Okay baby , make sure to call us every time, okay?" her mum asked.

"Yes baby and make sure you eat well" her dad said.

After a while, we went on the road. Pamela was in the driver's seat , Nathan at the back and I at the front.

"So how is Nigeria?" Nathan asked.

"Fine, their culture is awesome and do you know they have different tribes and cultures , different varieties of food, and they speak so many languages ", Pamela said .

"Really, that's good ,so did you enjoy the country and its food " I asked.

"Yeah, and the one i loved most was the Abaa... Abacha and i love their soups. omg there is one called Amala and Ewedu ... Shit Shit " She said .

"What's wrong ?" Nathan asked.

"I forgot something at home. I bought them for you both" she said.

"We aren't that far. We can go back home" i said.

"Oh God! " She was facing the back and before the blink of an eye a car almost crashed into ours , it scrashed our car a little.

Nathan went down. "Oh my goodness ' he said immediately. He saw the scratch, "who is this bastard".

" Who the fuck are you calling a bastard?! " The man yelled.

"You muttered something inaudible , what are you going to do about it, huh?" Nathan asked.

"Oh! I am going to show you what i will do ". Immediately, the person punched him.

" Rafael you bastard" Nathan said, now red.." Nathan gave him a double kick which made Rafael stagger.

There was a thug of war , it rained cat and dog, people gathered around . Then it came to me that it was Rafael, my classmate.

"Nathan, chill "I said while trying to calm him down." Rafael, you should also keep your cool".

"It is my fault , i should have focused on driving, Pamela said. " I'm sorry".

The commotion was resolved by people around. Everyone was calm.

I went to Nathan to comfort him...there was no sign of injury and Pamela went to Rafael to tend to him.

" I'm sorry , it was all my fault , I can pay for the damages ...how much does it cost just name the price" Pamela apologized to rafaela while tending to his wounds.

"No, it is okay , i will fix it myself ...you should just be extra careful while driving next time." He said.

"I insist , i will pay for the damage" pamela said.

"I'm okay , is my car and i am also at fault as well. I would have diverted to avoid the incident but i was distracted by my phone" He said, looking straight into pamela eyes .

"You shouldn't have reacted the way you did , you are very aware you can be sued for this " I yelled at Nathan.

" Sued ? " he asked.

"Yeah . " i replied.

"Indeed, " he scoffed.

I'm fine now, let us just get the fuck out of here " he said, entering his car .

I was shocked at his attitude.

" Are you girls coming or what" he yelled.

" Yes we are " we both said in unison while trying to get into the car.

We were on our way to Pamela's house ...we weren't that far from Pam's house ... After we got what we wanted, we went back on the road...me and Pamela were quiet so as not offended Nathan.

"So what is that you brought for us ?" I asked, Eager to see what it was.

*Coughs*

"So this is a knitted sweater that is colorful, a little handmade basket, beads and a very fine sculpture" she said .

I was giggling out a lot.
