My whole body ached. My mouth felt really sore. The last thing I could remember was drinking wildly at a bar. Yes, I drank over 3 bottles of Vodka and kept requesting for more.
Wait, where am I?
I quickly got up from the bed I was laying and rubbed my palm against my eye for a clearer vision. When I finally got to have a clear view of the room I was in, my eyeball dialated. The first thing that caught my eye was a very expensive crystal chandelier hung beautifully from the celing which was really high. It was adored with precious stones which made it glitter and sparkle. How heavenly!
The next thing that caught my vision was a Mona Lisa paniting and Starry Nights by Van Gogh. I have always been a lover of art and from the last bid in Oklahoma Gallery, Starry Nights was bid for $90 Million.
Other features of the room that got me rethinking my life were some cahmere upholstery, a really elegant Persian rug and a bookshelf lined with first editions. As my vision cleared, I noticed a large window with heavy, dark curtain partially drawn, allowing a silver sunlight to pierce through.
The room screamed luxury, power, wealth.. Whatever word one could attach to money. All of Oscar's wealth was not close to this, not even the wealth of the entire Gregs family. Ths was wealth directly from heaven, like those fantasy stories I usually read online.
"How did I get here?" I whispered to myself, still trying to piece together the fragments of my hazy memory. Where even am I? I suddenly remembered hearing the voice of a man promising to help me get vengeance or something like that. Who was he? Was he the person who brought me to this safe haven?
"You look pretty when you sleep, my little monster." A deep, smooth voice suddenly spoke. The voice was commanding, but it was smooth, seductive and resonant. His voice felt like an Alpha male and I felt like a member of his pack listening to an order.
My eyes trailed the source of the voice until it landed upon a guy. Not just any guy, but a hot, well built guy. Let me describe him to you. He had long hair that rested on his shoulders. I could swear that his hair was longer than mine, making him appear like a god. His height, damn! He should be between 6'2 and 6'4 which was way above average for a normal man.
His build? He did not have protruding muscles like men like Johnson Dwayne or Mike Tyson. He had the perfect figure and I could feel my eyes straining from simply looking at his build. His skin was another feature that caught me off guard. He looked like a guy who would spend more than $50,000 on his skin care. Is a man this perfect even possible? I could swear that they existed only in stories.
"Hello, stranger. Who the heck are you and why am I in your home?" I immediately asked, making sure I don't appear too trusting to him. Truth is, no matter how attractive a man is, he remains a man and all men are the same. Oscar taught me that lesson. He was the true definintion of a man and a husband. Yet, he did the unthinkable, divorced me and sent me away from his life. So, no, Mr. Stranger, but thanks. I am leaving your house.
He smiled. Gosh, his smile was a powerful, panty-dropping phenomenon that could disarm even the most resilient of women.
"Don't you ever take Vodka again, Anna, it messed you up. You have been asleep for the past 42 hours." He told me calmly, his eyes piercing into my soul like an arrow.
I gasped, 42 hours? Oh no! Explains why I smelled so badly. "Mr. Stranger, I am truly grateful for you help and for bringing me to your home. I am truly grateful. But, if you don't mind, I have to go now." I said and got up from the bed.
That was when I noticed something. I was not wearing the same clothes I had on me last night. I was on a soft pajama pant, a cozy sweatshirt and a fuzzy socks.
I looked at him, my eyes peeled, "Did you undress me? Did you fucking..."
"Hush, captive, I had the house help do it for me. I would not have my eyes stare indecently at God's temple, would I? I would be a sinner, then." he interrupted smoothly, his gaze unwavering. "You needed rest, and I wanted to make sure you were comfortable. So, where is my thank you?"
I was a bit relieved, but it was followed by a bump of confusion. "Why do you keep calling me 'captive'? And why the heck did you bring me here?"
He then left his spot and began walking closer to me. He strode like a model, each step deliberate and strong. "Oscar Greg broke up with you two nights ago. You felt like a dead chicken and you did not seek help because you had no one to run to. So, you resorted to taking your own life by drinking like a college freshman at a keg party." then he pulled himself back. "Good thing I was there to save your pretty ass!"
How rude! How dare he talks to me like he owns me? And how in the world does he know anything about me and my story with Oscar? Who was this dude?
"You have not still answered my question, sweet talker. Why did you bring me to your own home and not some hotel or somewhere else?" I asked, making sure he knows that he can not get into my head, I was smarter than that!
"Point of correction, Miss. Anna. This house is not mine but yours. This room, those paintings, the househelp, everything inside and outside this room, 2,700 meters from where you are standing all belongs to you, Anna!" he said, leaving me to laugh at his crazily entertaining joke.
"Your joke is worse than a kindergaten. Look, I appreciate your help, but I need to.."
"Call out your name!" He said.
I scoffed, but I obeyed. "Anna."
"No, your full name."
"Anna Peterson."
Suddenly, a big portion of the wall right behind me split up. It happened like a scifi movie. Did my name just open a secret chamber in this room? Was this dude saying the truth after all?
As soon as the aperture fully opened, what I saw inside the chamber made me place my hand over my mouth in extreme shock! I was so shocked that I dropped to the ground, almost paralyzed.
"What?!"
