Chapter 5 Forced to Move

Melva was in a serious dilemma. Her working hours were almost up and it was time for the transport car to come and move her goods to Zeon's residence.

From one source who had worked for Zeon for several years, the idea of a personal assistant having to be with the boss to the point of moving under the same roof was unprecedented. It was revealed that this transfer was new to Melva. Whatever Zeon's reasons were, Melva was sure this was detrimental to her. Not only would she be the subject of conversation later, Melva would be preoccupied with Zeon's requests at all times anytime and anywhere.

While the clock was ticking, Melva planned a crazy idea to thwart his transfer. Despite Zeon's assertion of indifference regarding Melva's opinion, Melva would not allow her transfer to be easily realized.

"You can go straight home in ten minutes. Mr. Zeon is out and asked me to tell you about this."

"Oh, thank you Rere."

It went even easier.

Or maybe not, the transport car followed him behind the taxi. Zeon was already preparing for Melva's rebellion. Zeon at least knew Melva's refusal wouldn't end so easily. It would be a troublesome transfer. And Zeon stuck to his orders. Preparing the car waiting to tail the girl. Even if Melva was already planning something in her brain. Between Melva and the transport car still arrived at the apartment at the same time.

And that was difficult for Melva. She ran, pressing the elevator button hurriedly. Even though Melva was a few minutes ahead, she was still alert.

Locking the door and changing the password. Melva slumped languidly on the sofa. She even took off her high heels to make it easier to run from the elevator.

The ringing of her cell phone startled her, Melva closed her eyes and counted orange three before looking at the caller's name. It was a nameless, unknown number.

"On behalf of Melva, owner of unit number 802?"

Melva's heart skipped a beat. An unlikely right but it occurred to her that Zeon had to deal with the apartment management.

"That's right."

"I apologize for your convenience, it is a written rule for apartment residents not to run in the corridors."

Relieved that her worries had not happened, Melva relaxed her shoulders. But embarrassment was present instead, she covered part of her face with her palms.

"Ah, sorry. I was in a hurry."

"Good. I hope there won't be a similar incident."

A long sigh escaping, Melva leaned back.

A few seconds after, the cell phone rang again, without looking at who the caller was, Melva picked it up.

"Sorry for the inconvenience earlier, I won't be running in the corridor anymore," Melva said.

There was a heavy snorting sound on the other side. Melva wasn't sure if this was the same caller as before. The phone away from her ear, Melva glanced at the name. It was indeed a different person, and this was the person she was worried about.

"Up to running in the corridor. Did you think I would agree to your refusal?"

"Mr. Zeon must agree. I guarantee that my future work will not be affected by the location of the residence." Melva still insisted on refusing.

"How sure?"

"Huh?"

"Don't try to lie. I'll make sure you won't run away again."

Running away from what? Melva didn't understand what Zeon was talking about. What exactly was this related to? If it was work, as far as Melva understood from Zeon's words, the reason was not that simple. But there was no reasonable idea other than the work reason. So Melva would still refuse.

"Sir, I will not run away. I will take responsibility for the work given. And I have never lied about anything."

Silence fell. Melva didn't expect much if anything to change Zeon's stance. Melva was just trying to incite him through words while extending the time. She just didn't expect it to get an answer as quickly and as she hoped.

"Alright. Go out and sign the employment contract. I've been busy with work all morning so I haven't had time to give it to you."

Hearing this, Melva ran hurriedly towards the door. Still with her office appearance, she faced Zeon. There were two men behind Zeon. Was her boss such an important person that he had to be escorted?

Melva received a red folder. Zeon looked at her expressionlessly. He looked annoyed and Melva didn't care. Opening the folder and on the first part of the statement, she immediately signed her name.

Lifting the corners of his lips slightly, Zeon watched Melva who acted so carelessly.

"Pick up her things, just ask her what she needs to bring."

"Huh? Wait. We already agreed on the transfer."

Melva's hands blocked two burly men from entering. From the moment she opened the door, Melva shuddered at being surrounded by tyrants. Melva felt small and shrunken. Plus their flat faces. Melva's heart trembled with fear. Luckily, no one had seen them for a few minutes. Melva could be mistaken for a debtor and the collector would come to her with two thugs as a bluff.

"Oh we did have a deal and you agreed by signing the agreement."

"What?"

Melva reopened the folder. There were a few more sheets of paper behind the waiver. And it was a detailed agreement divided into several points. Melva glared at the end. It said that she agreed to move into Zeon's house after signing.

"What the hell? You cheated." Melva gritted her teeth. How could there be someone so cunning like this?

"How can I cheat? You already agreed willingly."

Zeon's hands were clasped together, seemingly patient with this conversation that had no end in sight. He did look patient, but he was already furious to pick up the girl in front of him and carry her home.

"You cheated! You didn't mention this to get me to agree to sign, did you?"

"I didn't forbid you from reading the agreement one by one. You obviously signed it knowingly."

"I don't want to move. I just paid this month's rent yesterday. You can't force me to move."

"I'll give you the cost of the loss if that's what you're worried about."

"Don't be a rich ass."

"I am rich."

Melva could not argue with that because it was true.

Zeon's hand covered Melva's eyes that were still glaring angrily at her. Melva brushed it off two seconds later. Melva's current attitude was unforgivable for a new employee to her boss. Melva knew that, but anger took over her logic. The action she had just taken towards Zeon was something she regretted.

"Tell me what needs to be transported."

The two people who had been loyal behind Zeon now easily entered Melva's apartment. They just walked in and stood confusedly waiting for orders.

"I'm still not moving."

Zeon stepped until his shoes almost touched Melva's bare feet. Lowering his body to Melva's level so that they were only about five centimeters apart, Zeon said, "I will still insist."

Damn it.

"Transport anything." Zeon turned around after her.

Pulling Zeon's hand was all Melva could do to prevent the man from leaving.

At least not in a coercive manner like this. Melva didn't know what Zeon was thinking. It seemed like he had to agree and make this move look peaceful. Melva wanted the items being moved to be items with her consent.

"Okay, okay. I'll move. Put down that sofa."

"You finally agreed. Why beat around the bush and make a fuss like this?" Zeon massaged his temples.

Idiot, because you insisted. Melva thought to herself.

The transportation of goods took a long time. Melva hadn't prepared for this, so she thought a little long when asked "Does this need to be carried?"

Also considering the difficulty of transportation. After her emotions stabilized, Melva felt sympathy for the two men who were going up and down transporting goods.

"Get in the car and don't try to escape."

"My apartment is empty. Where do you think I'm going back to?"

After this incident, Melva wondered how much trouble she would be in as a personal assistant. How exactly did this start? Melva had only applied for the job from her lecturer's recommendation, and now she was stuck in this situation.

The rice had become porridge. Melva couldn't suddenly resign after signing the contract. She should have been more selective and not taken Helena's parents up on their offer.

Melva had been disrespectful and rude to Zeon. Why didn't Zeon get angry with her and fire her even on the first day of work? Zeon seemed desperate to keep Melva, even forcing them to live together. What exactly was the reason for all of Zeon's actions? Melva really didn't understand.

"I brought her home."

"Are you crazy?" The voice on the other side of the phone sounded angry.

Zeon looked up at the dark expanse of sky. It was almost midnight and the city never seemed to sleep, still flickering with life. Zeon fiddled with his fingers, a glimpse of the warmth of Melva's face that he had touched for a few seconds was still vividly remembered.

He clenched the hand into a fist and replied, "You obviously know how many years I searched for her. All the information I tried to dig up about her was completely undetectable. She was like an imaginary shadow in my own mind. I just kept remembering her face to confirm that she did exist in this world. And after this second chance encounter I won't let my guard down again. She came to me on her own so I won't let her go again."
