Because she's my mate

Because she's my mate

Those four words kept echoing in my head as I sat on my new bed and stared out the window.

That night, Alpha Kyle made me move to his pack house. I'm his property, after all so I'm supposed to be with him.

*Flashback*

Janet scoffed "What makes you think you can do that?''

''Because she's my mate''

Everyone's eyes widened in surprise.

"What?!" Raquelle shrieked "That can't be possible"

Before my dad or anyone could respond, Alpha Kyle dragged me outside. The force of his strong palm around my soft hand made me wince in pain.

I kept whimpering.

I know I'm not happy here but it's still my home. He has no right to take me away so abruptly, especially without my permission.

''What?'' he snapped at me "Why are you whining like a child?"

I sniffed ''You're scaring me''

''I scare a lot of people. I certainly won't change for you''

He continued pulling me to his car.

''Where are you taking me?'' I questioned.

''To my house''

''Why?''

''Because you're mine now''

''B-but I don't wanna go''

He stopped and faced me

''Listen here; I will not tolerate indiscipline from you. You have to behave. If not, I swear I don't fucking care if you're my mate, I will treat you worse than an omega. You will serve me as long as I live and do as I say. Do you understand?''

I stood there quietly in shock. I had no idea what to respond to him.

How can someone be so cruel?

His grip on my hand tightened. I let out a cry of pain.

''Do -you-understand?'' he growled.

''Yes Alpha''

*End of flashback*

I stared at the window. The sun shine in the sky and the birds flew while they chirped.

My heart was heavy with sorrow. The conversation I had with Alpha Kyle haunted me.

He didn't even give me a chance. He didn't even give himself a chance to see if he would like me or not.

Am I really that unlovable?

Am I really that bad that someone would just take a look at me and conclude that I will never be enough?

Something is wrong with me. I see that now.

As I gazed outside, I recalled the memories of what happened that night. The memory played like a relentless movie reel in my mind. I think I would have been better without a mate, instead of having one who despised me.

Alpha Kyle had been cold and distant to me ever since I arrived here. I did my best to stay out of his way.

I haven't met anyone here yet. I stayed in my room. Nobody sent for me anyway so I might as well just stay on my own.

I tried my best to hold back my tears. My heart ached with a pain that seemed unbearable.

I always hoped for someone who would love me, someone who would rescue me and wipe away my tears. Instead, I got someone who was cold and heartless.

At this point, I don't know what to do.

I wiped away the stray tears from my eyes. Crying won't do me any good.

What's done is done. The moon goddess has already sealed my fate.

I got up from bed and checked the time on the wall clock. It was 7:10am. I have enough time to get ready for school.

I got up and went to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth.

When I was done, I checked my closet for what to wear.

I decided to go with a pink tank top, white jeans and black sandals. I grabbed my backpack before making my way downstairs to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, I spotted Alpha Kyle drinking a glass of milk. He was shirtless. He looks like he just came back from a run or something.

He leaned on the island close to the window. The golden rays from the sun gently caressed his skin, casting a warm glow that highlighted every contour of his physique. It was as if the sun itself was captivated by his presence and decided to give him a special spotlight.

My eyes traced the lines of his bare chest. My heart beat quickened at the sight of him. My whole body seems to have awoken due to his presence. I can feel the hairs on my arms rise.

Alpha Kyle dropped the cup. He looks up, his eyes meeting mine.A spark ignited between them us. The air hums with an electric tension.

My senses heightened. I had the sudden urge to go close to him, to trace the lines on his chest and kiss them softly.

We stood there, both of us caught in the magnetic pull of our connection.

I got lost in his beautiful blue eyes.

Anyway, I had to force myself to snap out of it. He clearly doesn't want me.

''Good morning Alpha'' I greeted.

He nodded, barely acknowledging my presence. He poured himself another glass of milk.

I went over to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of water.

For some reason, I could feel Alpha Kyle's eyes boring a hole into my back. I could feel him staring at me.

I closed the fridge before placing the bottle in my bag.

''What are you wearing?'' he asked me.

What kind of question is that?

''Uh.. " I started" Clothes, Alpha''

''I'm aware of that!" he growled" Don't be rude to me"

I looked down at the floor. I didn't mean to be rude to him. I just didn't know what to say.

''I'm sorry, Alpha''

''Look at me when I'm talking to you''

I looked at him. His blue eyes pierced into mine. It was as if he could see right through me.

''I do not appreciate you exposing your body" he said "Go upstairs and change"

I'm not exposed. It's just a tank top.

''But...''

In a flash, Alpha Kyle appeared in front of me with inhumane speed. He grabbed my chin and squeezed.

I whimpered in pain.

''What did I tell you about disrespecting me?" he spoke" You will do as I say. Change your clothes, Rose''

''Yes alpha''

He pushed past me as he walked away.

My heart beat was so fast that I could hear it in my ears. I've never felt so scared of anyone like this before.

With tears in my eyes, I went upstairs to my room. I put on a black jacket before going downstairs and making my way to school.
