Chapter 5 AWAKENING

Diane flipped her eyes open but winced at the rush of light rays. She shut her eyes squinted it open this time. She winced once more as her body felt so sore, most especially her thighs. She could feel the sense of deja Vu rush through her.

She cluelessly looked around only to find herself in a wide and clean room. What was with her and waking up in strangers bed? The deja Vu washed over her even more.

Trying to remember her night before, a slight headache sent her cradling her head in her arm.

She remembered. Well, not all, but just enough that she had an unprotected intercourse with a stranger. Embarrassment in it's rarest form hit her like a tornado, turning her face beet red. From the looks of it, the stranger was a rather kind one who even cleaned her up and put her to sleep cozily.

She really wanted to hide so bad. Who would have thought that her first time would be with a random stranger?

At the thought of huge risk she had been in the day before, Diane shuddered. Diane was sure the Vodka was spiked with aphrodisiac this made her extremely worried. Hailey!

She looked around her for her phone rather instinctively. At the beside table sat an envelope right on top of her phone and her purse. It hard a note to it.

I deeply apologize for yesterday. The envelope below is a form of my sincerest apologies.

Apart from her handwriting, Diane could swear that she hadn't seen any other handwriting as intricate, neat and yet purposeful in every stroke.

By the side of the table was a little bottle of after pill.

Ughhh, such a gentleman. Diane mused. She was a little relieved that she hadn't given er first time to the wrong person, though her legs were really sore that she doubted she would be able to make it early to work.

Speaking of work-

"Oh Shit!" Diane cursed as she flew out of bed despite the soreness ravaging her body.

She had forgotten that it was her first day at work. She picked her phone to check the time only to realize that the phone's battery was dead.

She pulled at her hair in frustration.

What to do! She glanced around the room to see a clock at the opposite side of the room.

"Seven-thirty?!" Diane exclaimed, her eyes rounding in circles.

She noticed that she was in a really baggy shirt which she guessed was owned by the man she had a one night stand with. The shirt swallowed her entirely, so so much so that although the shirt was short sleeved, it slacked down her arms and became more like a long sleeve on her.

She shook her head and looked around for he dress but her search came to a stop when she recalled how whoever the guy was had torn away her gown the night before.

A deep blush crept on to her face. How was she going to sneak out of this house without facing the owner? She really did not want to meet him; it would be rather embarrassing and weird.

Diane sat back down on the bed when fatigue swallowed her entire being. She felt faint and really tired like she would pass out the next minute. She needed to catch her breath for a minute, plus she was starving.

A few bags by the side of the bed had caught her eyes for the first time she noticed it. She picked up the bags and placed them on her lap. A stick note was attached to the first bag, and the same neat handwriting from earlier was scribbled on it, too;

I'm sorry I ruined your dress; I got a few dresses you can choose from since I do not know your taste in clothes.

Could he be any sweeter? Diane blushed even more heavily at his thoughtfulness, but she had a job at risk and could not risk being any more late.

She was relieved that he had been thoughtful to leave a change of clothes for her, but she was worried that the clothes would not be her body's size since he wouldn't know that.

She browsed through the clothes, and to her relief, there was a black gown, which was more of her favorite color. She rushed into the bathroom, which already had a fresh brush and a few feminine products. She refused to think more about the gesture of the man whom she had a one-night stand with.

She hurriedly washed up and put on the black gown; luckily and surprisingly, it fit her like a fiddle.

She picked up her phone and hurriedly picked up her flats from the side of the room, which were placed neatly.

She hurriedly left the room, closing the door gently behind her; she didn't want to alert the man. She didn't want to meet him. Looking around to find her way, she was relieved that the room he had placed her was a room downstairs. She noticed how huge and luxuriously minimalistic the house was at first glance, but she was bent on making a smooth escape.

She tiptoed her way around till she found the front door, which wasn't hard to locate, and she exited the room.

When she had uninterruptedly escaped the house, Diane patted her chest in utmost relief. She had to rush back to her apartment to get dressed for work; she couldn't wear this gown to work, plus she had nothing with her; it'd be futile and embarrassing to be this disorganized on the first day of work.

She hurried away and towards the short little gate of the Villa, praying that the Security personnel of the man's mansion was not around.

And why did she feel that she was forgetting something?

When she reached the gate, to her utmost annoyance, his gate was smart.

It was a damn intelligent gate! Now she would have to go back into the house and look for him to open his damn gate, which would mean an awkward moment, which would be even more embarrassing since she was running away.

Diane sighed in frustration as she looked stubbornly at the walls around the gate, and then her eyes lit mischievously.

She could hop off the fence! Well, not hop off per se; she could climb off the wall.

But then again, his security alarm would go off; she was sure of that. For someone to have an intelligent gate, he would be tech-smart and install a security alarm. Diane frowned at this thought.

Well, everything be damned! She was going to climb out either way. She will never meet the man again, so no more embarrassing moments after she runs away!

She laughed at her thoughts but walked towards the short fences, which had the illusions of picket fences but were a little bit taller and more metal than wood.

The alarm began to blare when she held the fence roughly and propped her weight up to balance her foot on the wall.

She cursed loudly. She turned and eyed the house behind her. She was sure that if the house owner was around, he was seeing her.

She turned her head toward the fence and threw her weight carefully up to the wall, but she lost her footing

"Ahhh!" She suddenly lost her footing and landed on her butt.

Her eyes stung with unshed tears. She looked at her hand, which was quite red and puffy from the sharp edges of the fence. She had also scratched her knew in the process.

The gate made a clicking sound, and the alarm stopped blaring. She eyed the gate in suspicion, but then the gate rolled open.

Her heart dropped into her stomach, and she glared at the house, her face and neck burning up in embarrassment.

He had seen her. She could swear that he had seen her make a fool of herself. She snorted resentfully and refused to think of what he might have thought of her. The gate was opened now; that was all that mattered.

Hmph! She and this good man were now even. She snorted in her heart as she cried out in pain. She got up to her feet and looked around before scampering away. She would never meet him after today; this was the utmost consolation for all the embarrassment she had just faced.
