Chapter 4 Arranged Marriage

4.

Aiden's POV

She looked at me with widened eyes and mouth agape. At this moment, I had no idea whether she was shocked to see me or shocked at the fact that I called her "wifey" either way, she looked so cute that way.

"Samantha," Mr. Salvador tapped her and she regained her composure.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Callymore." She smiled, and I could tell that smile didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Skip the formalities, call me Aiden." I winked at her and helped myself to a seat on the couch. She nodded slowly and sat down as well.

I scanned her from head to toes. She hadn't changed a bit except for the fact that she had lost a bit of weight. She left and made me wait for three years, now she is back, and I am never letting her out of my sight again.

We went to the same university and studied the same course, went to the business academy together. I fell for her at first sight, but she was completely engrossed in her studies and head over heels for that imbecile that turned her into this.

I still pushed my luck and worked hard, and when I became successful, made a proposal to her father, who agreed, but she left. For three years, I waited to see if she would come back, and I'm glad I was patient.

Samantha Salvador, I will make you mine and make your gold digger of an ex-husband suffer for causing you so much pain.

"Welcome once more, Mr. Callymore. My daughter has finally returned and agreed to your proposal. Don't you think we should start with marriage preparations?" He asked and I smiled.

My eyes went to her, and she had a frown on her face. I crossed my legs and folded my arms, waiting for what she was going to say.

"Marriage preparations? That's too soon, dad. Besides, I still need to get used to being the CEO of the company. You can just dump two responsibilities on me at the same time. It'll overwhelm me." She frowned and folded her arms, a look of discontentment on her eyes.

"The sooner you two get married, the sooner you can walk side by side in the company. He will be your business associate and will assist you. It would be fine!" Her father countered, but she shook her head in disapproval.

"I still need to know what I'm getting into, dad. I told you I was going to marry him, and you know me for keeping my word. So trust me on the one. I won't run away if that's what you're scared of." She gave him a look of reassurance and I smiled.

She was a smart lady. More reason why I need to make her mine.

"Is that okay with you, Mr. Callymore?" He asked.

"Yes, I am fine with that. I will work as her business associate as well until the time for wedding preparations come. Like she said, she isn't going anywhere. I trust her on that." I replied and she looked at me. Our eyes met, and I held her gaze for a moment before finally looking away.

I stood to my feet and tucked my hands into my pockets. "I will be on my way now."

"Before you leave, I would like to inform you to the company's event tomorrow night. There, I'm going to fully announce her as the CEO of the company. As her groom to be, you have to be there." Mr. Salvador requested, and I gave him a nod.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," I said and looked at her. "Till tomorrow, wifey." She rolled her eyes and looked away, but I didn't mind and walked out of the house.

"How did it go?" Seth, who had been waiting for me outside asked.

"Just the way I want it!" I smirked and made my way to the car.

"Mr. Callymore, please wait!"

I stopped dead in my tracks at the sound of that voice. I turned to see Samantha running to me. When she got to where I stood, she scrutinized me with her gaze.

"Is there something you want to tell me?" I asked and she cleared her throat.

"I wanted to request for a favor from you. I'm not comfortable getting married to you at all. My parents are forcing it on me and I know your parents might be forcing this on you as well-"

"I am not being forced," I interrupted her and her eyes widened. "I'm doing this all on my own because I want to."

"Marrying me is something you want?" She asked, looking around in disbelief.

"Yes." I answered plainly.

"It's like you haven't heard. I'm about to divorce my husband. I shouldn't be the kind of person you'd want to get married to."

"Do I look like I give a fuck?" I rolled my eyes as he got into the car.

"But why? Why do you want to get married to me? We don't even know each other. You're a young man who should be living his own life. It wouldn't be good for people to see you with me." She complained and I heaved a deep breath.

"If you start having more confidence in yourself, you'd realize you should even be picking the kind of people that can talk to you. Believe me when I say you're more than the Samantha I'm seeing right now," I said and she became silent. She looked like she was pondering on what I had said. "And about why I want to marry you, the answer is simple. I want you and anything Aiden Callymore wants? He gets." With that said, I wound up the window, and we drove out of the vicinity.

A smirk found its way to my lips when I saw the flustered expression on her face when I said the last words.

I suddenly remembered something. "Seth," I called and he hummed. "I need you to do a background check on Samantha's ex-husband."

"Sure, but why? You have no business with him." Seth answered and I snickered.

"No one messes with my woman and goes scot-free."
