Chapter 4 A shameless man

Ariel's POV

From the lid of my eyes, I saw Deila, my maid, run in.

"Help!!" She screamed while trying to fight her tears

"I am fine, just call the doctor" I managed to speak to her.

"Okay my queen, I will do that right away" she replied, dialing a contact on the telephone which was in my room.

The door cracked open and Brad walked in.

On seeing him, my wolf became angry, I tried much to make it cool.

But as he was stepping closer, it became furious.

"What are you doing with a knife, Ariel? Do you want to hurt yourself? " He asked, taking away the knife on the floor as he saw the blood dripping from my finger.

"What have you done!" He screamed, sighting the blood as he rushed to check up on me...like he cared!

"Hey! Stop that!" I yelled at him as he grabbed my hand to view the cut.

"Go, go get the first aid box before the doctor comes around," he said to Deila, ignoring what I said.

And she left immediately with a nod as she took the knife from him.

"Are you okay, Ariel?" I heard Brad ask.

I nodded my head in response with a word utterance.

"Please just leave for now, I want to be alone?" I said to him,

He stares at me once more as I struggle to get my hand off his grip.

"Stop it now!" I said taking my hands off him.

"Why?" He asked, looking surprised.

"Why are you here?" I asked him with my eyes looking into his eyes.

"Emm, I wanted to discuss something with you," he said, moving a distance from where I stood.

The door opened after a knock was heard and the doctor walked in with Deila.

"You can leave now" I muttered to Brad, he nodded with a smile and then waved at the doctor before he exited through the door.

I exhale.

"Sorry, my queen for what happened" the doctor murmured to me after he treated the finger.

"Be careful with sharp objects next time, and you stay close to her to avoid any more damage, okay?" He said to Deila and me.

I smiled, giving him an assuring smile as he left.

"Thanks for the early intervention," I said to Deila who covered me with the duvet.

"It is my duty ma'am, I apologize for the cut" she replied.

"It's fine now, just get me a cup of green tea" I responded to her.

She nodded and left.

Why is Brad here now, he thought I didn't know.

He won't know what hit him when I am done with him.

With that, I closed my eyes, as the excruciating pain came up again.

Fatigue!

There was a knock at the door, I permitted the door to open and Deila walked in with a glass of tea.

I sat up and took the cup from her, and waved that she could leave now.

All I want is privacy and a good time to know how to strike my plan down for both.

I stirred the cup with the spoon and gulped it down once with which I laid back to the bed.

I knew Mia would come around soon but if she didn't, I would give her a call instead.

"You won't know what whack you, Mia!" I told myself to cover my body properly to get enough sleep.

I picked my phone up, it was Brad.

I smiled to myself and picked it up.

"Hello Brad," I said as soon as I picked up the phone.

"Hey, your voice is brighter now!" He responded.

I grin like a Cheshire cat. "Yes, so are you coming over?" I asked him with a beam on my face.

"Yes, I will be on my way soon!" He replied instantly.

"Okay, let me give Mia a call!" I said to his hearing to know what next he has to say.

"Emm I don't think so, why don't we just spend some time together, Ariel?" He asked,

"Do we have anything secret to speak about? " I asked him with surprise.

Why won't he want Mia to join the chit-chat we are to have?

"Do couples chat ?" He replied.

"Okay, if you say so!" I replied to him dropping the phone down.

I lay my head back on the bed, my eyes in contact with one place.

The tears circulated in my eyes, I knew my heart still bled and the scatter of it was yet to be mended.

Can it be mended again? I asked myself with a warm breath that escaped from my nostrils.

I know he isn't worth those tears, but it hurts! It hurts more than you can imagine.

Only those who have to experience this could understand how it feels when someone you love so much hurts you where an enemy can't.

If it was an enemy, it should have been better than someone whom you trust.

I just can't hold those tears as it flows to the door.

My doorbell rang and jerked me up from my thoughts.

I know either Brad or Deila.

"Yes, who is that?" I asked with a strummed voice.

"It's me, Brad! Can I come in?" He asked.

"No, wait down the stairs I will join you there soon," I said while jogging down the bed to freshen up.

After the warm bath, I clean my teeth and put on a nice outfit.

A quick glare at the mirror,

'Brad shouldn't find out I know' That was all I said to myself before walking down to go meet him.

"Hi, here comes Luna," he said standing from where he sat.

I smirked and walked up to him.

What a great pretender he is!

"Hi, Brad!" I said to him taking my seat.

"How are you doing?" He asked.

"Fine and you?" I asked him, taking a glimpse at the meal on the table.

We ate silently, I lost my appetite, but I just had to manage to eat up.

At every bit, I watched him closely as he stole glances at me.

Until he said what had brought him to the palace earlier, I was never expecting him to say so.

But whatever way he wants it, the revenge shall hold.

"Mia, sorry Ariel" he called out.

I smiled to myself.

So he couldn't get my name right, It has gone deep.

"Sorry, I never meant to call that name, I am sorry Ariel" he repeated

" I didn't say anything, why are you complaining?" I asked with my shoulders up...Guilty conscience!

"Nothing, em. I thought you took those words seriously" he replied with a giggle.

"Why should I ?" I answered, hitting the fork on my meal.

"So I wanted to ask Ariel, when will the crowning of the Alpha hold?" he asked shamelessly.
