Chapter 5 Five

Damien shook his head which caused Stella's mouth to open.

"Don't you have a phone or something?"

"I do have a phone," he said being quite offended that she would think that he doesn't own a phone.

"Don't you use social media?"

"No, I don't see the need to use social media. It's a distraction."

Stella turned her face to the side and muttered: "you acting like a Boomer."

"What'd you say?"

"I said you are acting like a boomer. Anyways a baby-mama is pretty much what's happening to use right now, in the sense that we are not married, and somehow I got pregnant with your child, so I am your baby-mama." She explained it the best way she could.

"Huh, kids these days do know how to come up with fancy looking terms."

"For such a fine man like you, it's a real shame that you are not on social media. Instagram would have been where you would have more strength in, based on how good looking you are."

Damien looked at her then smiled a soft smile. "It's been a while since I got a compliment from someone. Thank you very much."

"You are welcome." She stretched her body, she realized she actually felt tired and needed to rest.

"Damien, I think my body has apparently caught up to me, I need to go and take a nap." She headed towards the door, opening it up. "See you later."

"See you later," Damien said softly, watching her leave his study.

Damien loved his company, he loved everything about it, from the security man that greets him every morning, to his secretary that is always trying her best, to his adviser, to the overall general staff.

Damien doesn't think that there is another thing that could possibly take over his love for his company, maybe his unborn child can, but for now there is nothing that could replace the undying love that he has for this company built on the back of his ancestors.

He loves walking down the hallway and the staff greet him with a huge smile on their faces, if they were real or fake he couldn't care about that.

Usually whenever Damien walks down the hallway, heading towards the direction of the elevator Philip would materialize out of nowhere and be walking right beside him.

This morning was no different, except Philip had an uneasy expression on his face.

"What's the matter Philip?" Damien question as they entered inside the elevator, Philip clicked on the button that headed towards the top floor.

He then turn to face Damien. "There is a problem, right now one of the company that has a rivalry with you, wants to try and strike a deal with the Governor of California."

"And you know this information... how?" Damien asked arching an eyebrow at Philip.

"I have people everywhere, Damien. Don't underestimate me, just take a look at this estimation I made," he brought out his phone and showed him a small graph he created.

"If that company manage to get this deal, that would jump him five places up, and that is not a good sign."

Damien pushed the phone away, "relax Philip, he isn't going to get that deal."

"How sure are you?" Philip questioned.

"Cause this deal is made in a way that nobody can get anything beneficial from it, if they try to sign the exact same one. They would just be wasting their time."

"Are you sure?" Philip still sounded worried.

"Yes I am 100 percent sure. Don't worry about it."

"I would take your word for it."

The elevator door dinged, and opened. The two men stepped out of it, and went to their separate offices.

Damien entered his office, went to the coffee machine and brewed himself a cup of coffee, adding some few cubes of sugar to it, he went to the large floor of the ceiling window that showcase the city skyline.

He took a sip of the coffee, he was suddenly deep in his thoughts.

He realized that he was about to be a father in the next 9 months, he honestly don't know how to feel about the whole thing.

He doesn't know if having a child with a woman that he knows little to nothing about was even a good thing. He didn't even put a ring on her finger to even claim that there was something going on between them.

All this cause he just wanted a quick fuck, if he didn't act on his hormones that day, he wouldn't have a complete stranger at his house–even though she is very beautiful.

How sure was he that the baby growing in her was his to begin with, he only just have her word for it.

He shook his mind off such thoughts, he had more important things to focus on.

He left the window dropping the cup of coffee on the desk, he called his secretary and asked her to help him bring a folder that was in the storage room.

****

Stella absolutely adored the entire house, everything was serene and beautiful. But there was one spot that she absolutely adored in the entire house and that was the garden.

The garden was filled with so many flowers, that were planted by the gardener, and she commended the gardener for such a good job decorating the place with such beauties.

Aside from the beautiful flowers the place was serene, the perfect place to read a book and drink a cup of tea and eat a box of cookies too while at it.

And that was what she was currently doing, the book was from her book collection that she decided to bring during the last minute, sometimes she would stop reading and take in a deep breath enjoying the sweet smell of flowers wafting through the air.

Alexa was probably some meters away. She also realized that she was assigned as her personal hand maid that would be at her beck and call.
