Chapter 5 AURORA'S POV

•AURORA'S POV•

The warm sunlight that drifted into my room woke me up in the morning. I'm not a morning person but I was trained to be one as I was growing up, part of what I learned to do as a mafia's wife. I slid down the bed into my flops that were at the side of my bed and walked into the bathroom to do my morning rituals; brushing, taking a dump and having my morning shower.

When I was done I dressed in a floral yellow gown that had a U neckline which was plunged and revealed a bit of cleavage, paired with a matching white pair of sandals and my minimalist makeup.

Not wanting to head down first as it was just 8:45 am I grabbed a book from the shelf which was in my room, this one was my personal favorite which I always read to

my sister back home. I miss her, I wonder how she is and what she's doing this morning. It's my first time away from her and I feel some type of way, I don't think I'll get used to not waking up and seeing her beside me in bed, she loved sleeping in my room.

I take the chair in my room and place it close to the bedroom window to have a good view of the garden which stands below my room. It was filled up with flowers of all sorts and even my personal favorites were planted as was, DAISIES. I give a long sigh open to a random chapter and start reading.

Thirty minutes into my book reading a knock at the door brought me back to reality. On opening the door, a maid stood outside the door to take me downstairs for breakfast.

"Buongioro signora Aurora, per favore scenda con me a fare colazion con la famiglia" (Good morning Miss Aurora,please come down with me for breakfast with the family), she said with a bow.I nod in response and close the door behind me following her down the stairs to the breakfast table where the whole Rocco family is seated.

Matteo looks at me and stares at my cleavage for a second before bringing his eyes back to my face. I smile and wave back his sisters who greeted me with a smile and wave.

"Buongioro Sir Rocco,Buongioro Madam Evelyn" (Good morning Sir Rocco, Good morning Madam Evelyn), I greet my future parent Inlaw with a warm smile and they smile back at me with Evelyn asking if I had a good night's sleep which I responded with a Yes. I took my seat next to Matteo's and he placed his hands on my lap and squeezed it. I glare at him but he just sits there and acts like he did nothing.

Breakfast didn't take long but it felt long for me as I wasn't used to this household yet and Matteo kept staring at me and my cleavage! He just knows how to get on my nerves without even having to utter a word.

He pushed his chair back and stood up to leave as soon as he was done eating his meal,"sto andando Al magazzino per ispezionare la nuova merce arrivita ieri Papa"(I'm heading to the warehouse to inspect the new goods that arrived yesterday father)he said to his father. He turned to me gave me a huge smile and whispered into my ears "I'll see you tonight mia moglie"(my wife), his voice was so husky and sweet that I forgot to swallow my food for a second, He gave me a sly smirk and heads out.

After breakfast, I join Madam Evelyn in the garden where she's watering the flowers.

"I hope you find our home comfortably Aurora, I know it's nothing like your house but I do want you to be comfortable here and treat me as your mom, I will be your mother-in-law which technically makes me your mother," she says as she pauses from watering the flowers and turns to me. A small smile is on her face as she talks. I smile back at her and nod to her," Yes Mother". Her smile brightens as I call her mother.

"My son may be a hard nut to crack and gets on people's nerves easily but he's a very sweet man.He just doesn't know how to do nice things less annoyingly" Her eyes spark as she tells me things about Matteo. She's a very nice and warm person, I can tell this from the way she talks and carries herself.

"Don't resent him so much because of the nature of your marriage. If he makes it too hard for you, you can always confide in me and I'll scold him for you okay?" she looks at me with reassurance in her eyes and I can't help but let a tear fall and she hugs me tight." You'll be fine my princess, everything will be fine".

When she let me go, she handed me the watering can and asks I could help her water the roses on the other side of the garden which I agreed to do happily. I've never had the chance to do anything like this back home so I was going grab the chance to do new things here and explore new places as well if ever given the chance to.

We both finished up in the garden and she left me at my room door after informing me she wouldn't be around for the day but would be back by evening to have a talk with me about my wedding. She was meeting my dad and aunt Lia today to discuss a date for the wedding so we could start the preparations as soon as possible.

With nothing to do the whole day, I change into a light two-piece loungewear and climb into bed to take a nap.

I think about Matteo and what he said to me at the breakfast table today wondering if there could be any meaning to what he said, his smirk made me uneasy as if he was up to something.
