Chapter 5 The Interference

"Where are you, Kylie?" Celine briefly supervised Kylie's work at the materials check table, which she usually occupied. Kylie looked up briefly and answered smoothly as she refocused on the shoe materials she was arranging by series. "I only have sizes 37 and 36 left. Tomorrow, I can finish and help Eva with her new job."

"Sip, you're my favorite," Celine said as she pinched Kylie's arm anxiously. Kylie, who has an adorable chubby body with fair skin and curly hair that is always put in a bun, pouted her lips cutely.

Celine chuckled as she left her desk to go to Eva's desk on the other side. The owner was taking the materials to the Cutting department, so Celine only checked the book containing the size report table and the amount that had been reviewed and deposited to the Line. For the past two days, Celine has never sat at her desk. She had to go around constantly to supervise the performance of the team working on the new job carefully to avoid any mistakes.

"Eva already got two big sizes. That's good. I think we can finish on time. I hope so." Celine murmured hope quietly, just to be heard by her ears.

She continued to check the material input and output data in Eva's book, studying for anything odd. It was recorded neatly. Thankfully, Kylie chose someone who is also reliable, she thought silently.

She then went to Line and saw a small part of the team dedicated to her new job. The materials from the preparations were piled high and untouched. Oh Gosh, it's terrible if we don't add more personnel, she thought a little frantically. The anxiety of not achieving the target time began to loom over her.

Recklessly, she approached Miss Tiffany, trying to negotiate, "Miss, I think I need more personnel."

Pointing to the table at the back of the Line, Celine continued, "You see, the materials are still piled up at the back, unable to move forward. At the very least, we need two more people to catch up."

Miss Tiffany, who also seemed to be in a bad mood, didn't seem to respond to Celine's complaint.

"Ask Mrs. Jane directly for more; look for another line. We're already overwhelmed, we can't reduce it anymore!" she replied, sounding irritated.

Miss Tiffany is indeed a moody person. When she's in a good mood, she's straightforward to get along with, even joking around. However, when she's in a bad mood, it's hard to joke with her; when asked to talk seriously, she'll answer with muscles and bulging eyes. Ouh, horror is also sometimes the person.

Finally, Celine relented; she couldn't ask for help from other lines because of her prestige. She tried another way by jumping in to help do the team's tight work. It is good to catch up with the deposit, although a little.

Mrs. Jane, who watched her from a distance and occasionally came to supervise Celine's work, seemed quite satisfied. It was evident that none of her complaints were heard when going around the Line. Usually, if something was not right or there was an artistry error, she would immediately scowl and yell at the whole team.

When the lunch break came, Celine was surprised to see Kate at the material check table where Celine usually was. Kate is an employee from the cutting department, in a different room from Celine. They were familiar because Celine's job in charge of the material check was recording the cutting input that went into the line preparation.

"Hey, Kate. You're here?" she greeted, trying to be expected.

The one being addressed immediately asked her, "Your cellphone has been off since last night, huh? I've been contacting you, and it's been off."

Celine immediately understood where the conversation was going. She had deliberately turned off her cell phone since she saw Leo's number constantly calling yesterday afternoon.

Inevitably, Leo must have complained to Kate so that the girl now came to see Celine.

"Oh, yes, I'm just too lazy to pick up someone's phone," Celine answered firmly, putting aside her anger at Leo as much as possible so that it wouldn't spread to Kate, who had absolutely no part in her problem.

"You guys fought?" Kate began to interrogate and put on a severe face.

"No, we broke up!" Celine concluded matter-of-factly. She ignored the slight ache in her heart when she said that sentence.

She wanted to cuss out Leo's mistake in front of Kate and ask for justification for what she had decided yesterday. However, her inner prestige kept her from looking like a pathetic girl with a broken heart. She wanted to show her attitude as Celine, who was independent, strong, and happy.

Kate looked a little wide-eyed. It seems like Leo still needs to tell her everything. Kate was still pursuing her with questions about what exactly happened, whether it could not be talked about again, and others Celine was reluctant to hear or respond to.

"We broke up, so it's enough, okay. Ask your neighbor about it. I'm not interested in talking about the past."

Celine ignored Kate's barrage of questions and leaned over the desk drawer to reach for her lunch bag. However, Kate still didn't move from Celine's seat, and Celine didn't feel comfortable leaving her behind. The girl grabbed a chair from the following table, sat down, and opened the lunch box she had lined up next to her water bottle.

Only a few employees were eating inside in the spacious room where she worked, which was the production area of building 3 of P.T Pharin Shoes. The room, with a capacity of about a thousand people, looked hushed during this break.

The majority of employees prefer to rest outdoors. They gathered in the cafeteria, some near the parking lot, and some deliberately went out on motorbikes to go home, to the boarding house, or to look for food outside.

The spicy-savory aroma of her mother's stir-fried shrimp in soy sauce wafted up Celine's nose, which was wrapped around her stomach, begging to be filled. Her breakfast at home had only gone in a little because she was hurrying to get there early.

"Eat, Kate?" she offered pleasantly as she pushed the orange Tupperware lunchbox in front of Kate.

She shook her head and said hesitantly, "Actually... Leo told me to invite you to lunch outside. He's already waiting out front."

Celine pretended not to hear and ravenously began to execute her lunch without mercy. When the stomach is rumbling, and there is a favorite food, it is the right combination of moments to turn into a glutton.

Because Celine did not respond and instead continued to eat her delicious-looking lunch, Kate excused herself while glancing at her watch,

"It's getting late here, the break time. I'll go out first, then."

Celine looked up and replied, "Okay, hurry up and get something to eat!"

"Oh, yes, activate the cellphone. We are already an adult, solve the problem without having to avoid it, okay?!" Kate said the final sentence, which was piercing Celine's ears.

When Kate had left the room, Celine vented her frustration by slamming her spoon on the table. She had lost her appetite. Her stomach was suddenly full, and she had no intention of continuing to eat.

"Damn it, immature for avoiding problems, she says?"

"I directly faced the problem by breaking up with Leo yesterday."

"And I turned off my cell phone precisely because I was mature and chose to be consistent with my decision."

"What an arrogant Leo! He's bound to come up with some weird stuff that doesn't match the facts, so Kate seems to blame me."

Celine grumbled as she stabbed at the large amount of rice in the lunchbox.

"I can't do this; Kate has to know that her neighbor deserves to be broken up with!" Celine quickly took her cell phone from her bag and pressed the power button to turn it on.
