For Zev, Athena was so different from so many women that he has met all this time. At first, he was interested because of the whisper in his ear that said she was his mate but later, he really doesn't understand how he could be interested in a dangerous woman like her. At first, he thought Athena was her alias but after Milly gave him a report about her later, that man understood that Athena Xander was a special woman indeed and he was so happy to know that she was his mate.

Zev looked at the report in his working room as Milly was still standing in front of him as if she was waiting for his decision regarding Athena Xander.

"So just let her take a rest for a while before I visit her." He said nonchalantly.

"Are you sure?" Milly asked him out of her concern because all this time, he had never been interested in an assassin before.

"Yes. Let her get a rest. I want to see how she will fight me back at that time. Oh, don't forget to investigate her family as well. I want to know everything about her." Zev stared at her with a serious look.

"Yes. Sir."

Of course! Zev was aware that she was a dangerous woman since she tried to kill him but for now he could rest assured because he knew that she couldn't harm him. That's the absolute rule when a lycan or werewolf gave the mark on his mate's.

Zev Russel has a lot of enemies and his enemies were not just human but also another pack of wolves, and it was not easy to survive in the human world as he had to hide his true identity as a lycan and blend with humans.

Since his family had been slaughtered, Zev had to deal with the cruelty of the world. At that time, Zev was too young when he started everything from minus but now the people know that he has everything that the people dream of. Not tell about how many packs of wolves that wanted Zev die and he would never let something like that happen as they wanted.

This was not just about the pack but also about more than thousands employees. His employees needed income for their family, not just from wolves but also humans. Zev knew that he had to be so careful. One thing that he has to do was to meet Athena as soon as possible but now, she needed to take a rest after what he did to her last night so that man was just let her take a rest for a while but he doesn't have any intention to let her go like what he did another night. He could catched her but Zev chose to see her escape from his second floor balcony.

Zev knew the address of her apartment but he held himself from looking for her. He just needed the right time so she couldn't escape from him anymore and at that time, he would make sure that she would follow him no matter what. He had tasted her blood and it was in his vein so he could do a lot of things to make sure everything was going to be working as he planned.

After she ran away, Zev got another report from Milly about her mother. Edrica Xander was a gambler and he would use this information to make her follow him.

"What do you want me to do?" Milly asked him.

"Nothing. Just let her lose. Keep observing them. I want to know more about that woman." Zev smirked coldly to hide what was in his mind but Milly because she knew what was in her master wanted and she would do whatever her master wanted. Milly was his loyal subordinate and she was a human that he saved from domestic violence.

Zev Russel had never expected that his mate would be an assassin and he really doesn't know how he should react but one thing that he knew, she would need him soon because the mark that he sowed in her neck would have a big impact on her life. He just needed the right time to appear in front of her and she would never be able to escape from him anymore.

Not long after that, Milly got a phone call and his instinct said this information must be about his mate and Zev knew that his guest was correct when Milly stared at him meaningfully.

"Tell me."

"Edrica took all of her money and now she was alone in her apartment." Milly reported to him with a serious face.

"Okay. Milly, prepare everything for her. I will come alone." He said before he left this room as he was so ready to face his mate.

When Zev arrived at that place, he saw there was a teenager that was ready to leave and he thought the moon goddess helped him now. At least, he hoped that he could persuade her to follow him but Athena seemed so astonished when she saw him at her apartment. Zev could feel that she was afraid but she gave him a fierce face when she shouted his name.

'Okay, I should be happy, right? She remembered my name.' Zev thought.

Zev looked at her face. She looked so weak but that didn't make him shocked at all because he knew that she would become like this and that's better she would be with him.

'Soon is better.' Zev thought

"Do you want to kill me right now?" She asked him in a low voice and that question made him astonished because Zev had never thought to kill his own mate.

"No." He answered her but it looked like she still had doubts but that made sense after what had happened between them.

Zev still doesn't understand why he has to explain everything to her, meanwhile she doesn't have the power to bargain with him. At this stage, she must be so weak but she was trying to act cool and strong in front of him. Zev knew she wanted him to get out of here but he couldn't let his mate die even though she had attacked him. In her stage, she should take a rest because judging from her appearance, she had no energy left but she still insisted on attacking him. The gap between them was made Zev could tame her.

The battle between them left Athena's body beneath Zev as he pinned her wrists over her head.

"Athena, you have to stay here with me before everything becomes too late." Zev hated to explain too much to her because all that she needed was to stay with him soon.

"I really don't understand why you let me stay here with you? You don't want to kill me either so what do you want? Don't make me confused." She argued.

"If you really want to know the answer then you have to stay with me and I will explain everything to you."

This woman really made Zev feel a little bit frustrated but at the same time, he felt making Athena become his wife was a challenge for him. .

"Do you think you can escape from me? If you don't want to follow me then let your brother, Ares, be with me and I will take care of her after you die."

"What?! Zev!" She shouted at him.

"Answer now! Do you want to follow me or do you want me to just bring your brother instead?!"

"Zev!"

"You knew someone wanted to kill you because your mission had failed." He saw Athena's face change and he knew that he pierce at the right spot as she looked so hesitant.

"What do you know?" Athena stared at him and looked astonished.

"I know more than that, you know. Follow me now if you don't want the debtor to kill you and your brother."

"The debtor? What do you mean?!"
