Chapter 4 If he bullies me, I'll tell Grandpa. Grandpa can punish him!

Maria POV:

"Nina Lindsey."

Just as I was at a loss, Charles grabbed my hand. I almost stuck my nails in his flesh.

Looking at the woman in front of us, Charles said with a frown, "Everyone in California knows that you and Mia do not get along. Stop pretending to be a friend here."

The smile on her face disappeared instantly.

He informed me about what transpired but Mia and Nina. I guess it's a story everyone knew.

Nina and Mia had the same piano teacher, but Mia had exceptional talent and left her far behind eight years ago.

She had always been jealous of Mia and wished she could disappear from California City.

Later, Mia was discovered by a piano master and became his last disciple.

Since then, she and Mia have been two worlds apart.

After that, Nina had never seen Mia again.

But even so, I had a feeling that Nina could tell that I was not Mia.

"Young Master Smith, that's an old story. Mia and I..."

"Darling."

Immediately, I gently shook Charles' arm. I raised her head and looked at him acting cute, "I'm hungry."

Charles curved his lips, gently pinched my tender face with his fingers, and said, "Let me take you to eat."

After saying that, the two of us walked away as if Nina did not exist.

I was sure Nina would be angry. I could feel her gaze on my back and I slightly curled my lips in a mocking smile.

After we left 'Heaven on Earth' and got in the car, my previously smiling face instantly turned gloomy.

I glared fiercely at Charles, then shifted my butt, trying to create as much distance as possible between them in the car.

Charles glanced at me. I was almost trying to embed myself inside the car door.

The disdain for him was more than evident.

He did not say anything. He just curved his lips and said to the driver, "Go to the old residence."

Old residence?

I was instantly tightened again. I almost lost half of my life attending a banquet today. But now he wanted to take me to the old residence? Was he trying to scare me into a heart attack and death today?

"Charles!"

Charles furrowed his brows slightly.

"Darling"

I was angry!

'Darling?' What kind of darling?

Looking at Charles' handsome visage, I argued in annoyance, "Charles, do you think that you're my husband just because I call you darling? Don't forget that I'm not Mia."

Charles was instantly displeased. He turned around, and forcefully pressed me against the car door with both hands.

Looking at my panicked face, Charles smirked evilly, "You can feel it yourself whether I'm your husband or not."

To feel it?

Who wanted to feel it?

I furrowed my brows and struggled hard, but I could barely free myself in Charles' hands. The sturdy man's upper pressed me down, making it difficult for me to breathe. In the end, I could only give up.

"Char..."

Before I could finish, the man's thin lips aggressively kissed me.

Charles Pov:

The chauffeur driving in front, Tom Jones, was my driver and bodyguard and had been working for me for several years. I'm sure he had never seen me so impatient with a woman before.

I saw him smirking soundlessly through the rear mirror and he kindly raised the car panel.

It was very rare. Even an iron-willed person has moments of weakness. If I did not sleep with one or two women soon, everyone in the world would assume he was my partner, just like Mia told Maria.

Maria POV:

"Mmm..."

Just as I was about to suffocate, Charles finally let go of me.

"Charles, you..."

"If you dare to directly call my name again in the future, I'll set you straight right here and now! Consider this a warning!"

"Pfft..."

I was so angry that I almost spat blood.

I did not understand why Charles was so hung on 'darling'.

But looking at Charles' serious, warning-filled eyes, I knew very well that he would definitely follow through with his words.

I felt uncomfortable being pressed down. "Get up first."

Charles gave me a deep look, sat up straight, and lightly brushed his thumb over the corner of his lips.

After tidying up, I was about to say something, but Tom's voice came from the front. "Young Master Smith, we've arrived at the old residence."

I looked nervously out the car window. We had arrived so quickly?

After getting out of the car, Charles grabbed my little hand and placed it in the crook of his arm.

"My grandfather really likes Mia, so please be more affectionate with him later."

For the past two years, I had appeared in Charles's villa during Mia's allocated time, but I had never been to the old residence. This was going to be my second time meeting Charles' grandfather since the wedding.

I had always been friendly towards the elderly.

Entering the house, we saw the old man sitting in an armchair, listening to a tune while hugging a cat. A warm smile appeared on Charles' cold face.

"Grandpa, I'm back."

When the old man glanced over, I quickly put on a smile and sweetly called out, "Grandpa."

"Ah, Mia!"

The old man's face was full of smiles as he completely ignored Charles and waved at me. "Come over here, grandpa has not seen you for a while."

Two years ago, members of Smith's family did not discover that I was a fake bride, so I was not nervous now.

I walked gracefully over, squatting beside the old man and tilting my beautiful face to meet his affectionate gaze.

Old Master Smith was extremely delighted as he looked at me again and again. He appreciated me very much.

"It's all that brat's fault. He left you alone for two whole years as soon as you got married and went abroad. Mia, don't worry, if he dares to leave this time, I'll break his legs! I won't let him bully you."

I turned my head to look at Charles and nodded with a smile, "Okay, if he bullies me, I'll tell Grandpa. Grandpa can punish him!"

Charles gave me a cold glance, then handed the marriage certificate to Old Master Smith. "The thing you have been urging me for two years, I brought it to you today."

The name written on it was mine, not Mia's.
