"Tell her." Aidan couldn't say it directly to Laura. Because it would be very troublesome if he came face to face with Laura who was currently heartbroken.
"Also, prepare a funeral home for her sister. Make it private!" he ordered again before leaving.
Then, Aidan's men immediately carried out Aidan's orders. Take Laura away from there.
"Let me go, I want to go alone!" Laura continued to rebel because she knew she wouldn't feel safe under their watch.
"You guys are such assholes! My sister at the hospital is already lifeless. And you still treat me like an animal?"
"Please don't argue so much. If you want to visit your late sister. Just follow mr. Aidan's orders!" said one of Aidan's men.
"Aidan's a jerk!" cursed Laura, who now didn't even hesitate to swear at him openly in front of Aidan's men.
In the end, Laura just kept quiet, not wanting to waste her energy on something that wouldn't be granted by them - Aidan's men.
The car Laura was in drove to where her late sister was, and Laura who was going to take care of the rest did not forget that she was escorted by eight of Aidan's men who were not far from her.
Soon, they arrived at their destination. A funeral home that Aidan had prepared for Laura's sister, Ester.
"Ester! Ester!" called Laura who immediately ran into the funeral home that was already filled with people she knew. With tears in her eyes, Laura bumped into everyone until she reached her sister's coffin. She saw Ester's pale face for the last time. "Ester!" screamed Laura who was crying hysterically at the sight of her dead sister.
Laura cried hysterically as she saw her sister's body being dressed and put into the open coffin. Where all the mourners could still see Ester for the last time.
Laura cried until her tears could no longer be contained. Esther's coffin slowly went into the grave and her headstone was placed there. Laura crouched down and spoke to her sister who could no longer hear her.
"I love you very much, Ester. Be at peace there, in a place where you will bear no more pain."
One by one the mourners left. Laura was the last among the others. "I'll go first, Ester," Laura said as she kissed the tombstone and walked slowly without looking back. She didn't want her sister to see that she was unwell.
Laura's eyes turned to Aidan's men who were standing not far from her with their backs to her.
"You fools, do you think I can't escape?" Laura suddenly had the determination to get out of there without Aidan's men knowing.
She knew there was a door in the bathroom that could take her to the shop next to the funeral home.
Not wanting to waste any time, Laura went straight from there. With puffy eyes and a racing heart, she was afraid that her action would fail.
However, she smiled as she opened the back door.
She saw a shopkeeper there who was relaxing because there were no customers.
"Please... Take me away from here. I'll pay you with-"
"Wait... Are you the girl in this picture?" asked the shopkeeper as he showed a piece of paper with Laura's face on it.
Laura's eyes narrowed. How could her picture be on that brochure?
"Looks like I'm going to hit a big jackpot today." The shopkeeper laughed happily. And looked at Laura meaningfully.
"Please don't ...." Laura shook her head in fear.
Why was Laura's face plastered so prominently on that piece of paper? And what would the shopkeeper do?
*******
Meanwhile, Aidan was now in the car heading to the main house of their small family. Aidan sat lazily but continued to pay attention to his surroundings. He felt that he had to be alert anywhere and anytime.
The car Aidan was traveling in entered a large gilded gate. A place that Aidan had never been to for some reason.
"I'm really back in this place? My God!" said Aidan, who then smiled wryly. "Come in, Mr. Aidan. Mr. Alister is waiting inside," said his father's men who opened the car door for him.
Aidan came out with a stern face, not forgetting his well-built body. He adjusted his jacket slightly and strode confidently into the house that could more accurately be called a palace.
"Dad, mom," Aidan said, facing his parents. "Sit down," Mr. Alister said briefly which Aidan immediately followed.
"Daddy is old, you have to continue our family business," Mr. Alister said to the point with his cold face.
"I don't think I can continue your bussiness. I have my own business that I built from scratch." Aidan refused.
"Hahaha... That dark business of yours? You think i doesn't know what you're doing out there?"
"Selling the women you catch and then selling them to auction houses. That little business of yours is not profitable," said Alister who knew more about illicit business.
Hearing that, Aidan clenched his hand into a fist and gripped it firmly. "I stand my ground, I don't want to get involved, let alone take over your company."
"What do you expect from your little business, Aidan? Your business is the same dark business, no difference. Don't be a saint."
"At least my business didn't take someone's life... Not stabbing each other in the team." Aidan said firmly which made Mr. Alister laugh to hear it.
"All businesses must experience something like that Aidan. There's no need to be naive. Even if it's not a dark business, there are bound to be those who elbow each other, have many enemies and competitors. It's a natural law for anyone who is at the top. The difference is... He will either go deep into the opponent's cage or stay put."
"It's true what your dad said, Aidan. Take over this business, and your name will become big afterward." Clara said where her maternal side emerged.
"I can make a name for myself, without involving the Bowel family."
"Never mind, this talk won't make me change my mind. Once a no, still a no!" Aidan continued to walk out of the room.
"How arrogant of you, Aidan! Is it because you have a girlfriend now that you forgot that we are your family?"
Aidan's steps stopped at the doorway when he heard those words.
"What price did you pay for that woman? Did I have to get rid of her for you to agree to take over our family business?" Alister asked with a dismissive look at Aidan.
Hearing that, Aidan clenched his fists and tightened his jaw. He couldn't accept that Laura should be pushed aside in favor of a business that he could handle.
Aidan turned and looked at his father, "Well, what should I do?" he asked with an angry face.
BRUK!
Several large folders fell onto the sturdy wooden table. "Study these first, once you've mastered them. There are still many folders for you to learn."
The look in Alister's eyes made Aidan a little scared. But with that, he didn't want to avert his eyes. He didn't want to lose to his father in any way.
Aidan stepped closer to the table, he opened a large folder that clearly detailed what Mr. Alister's purpose was in building the business. Aidan was dumbfounded by the amount listed there, where the monthly target in this business was too high.
"Seriously. How can it be that high?" muttered Aidan, who was then laughed at by Mr. Alister. "I told you that your business has very little profit."
DORR!!!
Hearing the gunshot made all eyes turn to the source of the sound.
What were they going to do? Were they going to fight at that very moment? Then, who would dare to fire a bullet at the Bowel family?
